    David Cassidy?

by AllyV on 2013-10-15Deerfoot Inn & Casino - Calgary

Was I at the right venue? The show I saw was so poorly mixed that it was not enjoyable. The band was fabulous and very talented. It was a shame that they could not shine as they should have. David Cassidy was angry, and mouthy. I wish he could have just sang and been entertaining.

    David Cassidy - sucked

    by kitkat58 on 2013-10-15Deerfoot Inn & Casino - Calgary

Very excited to see my teenage idol for the first time many years later. I realize that people get older voices change etc., but this was the worst concert I have seen in years. The venue itself was great as always. Keep up the great work Deerfoot Casino...

    This Man Needs Rehab!

    by Harvey1 on 2013-10-15Deerfoot Inn & Casino - Calgary

We came to see a music concert - instead we got to witness a very "ripped" David Cassidy "ranting" and attempting to put on a show - sadly he failed miserably. During the show he complained about several things -- from the cord on his guitar, his guitar being out of tune - to the "inept technicians" working behind the scenes. He tried to sing a few of his oldies but he was not able to pull them off. There's one thing that David seems to be lacking and that's the ability to go out on stage (sober) and have genuine fun with the audience. We don't need to be told repeatedly that we are a great audience! We are there to hear the oldies - you don't need to re-invent the wheel (the opening song was painful to listen to!) At what point should the promoters decide to pull a show if a performer is not in decent condition to perform? It was obvious when Mr. Cassidy came onstage that he was not in condition to perform! His band are talented musicians and they must tire of having to try and carry the show! At one point, David recalled how one famous songwriter shared lyrics with David (when he was about twenty-one years old) -- maybe it's time David hung up his guitar (with the annoying cord) and set his sights on songwriting for other upcoming musicians? Perhaps he is missing his calling? If he can fit in some rehab at the same time that could prove highly beneficial. We wish you well David.

    left before it was over

    by skw65 on 2013-10-13deerfoot casino - calgary

David Cassidy was clearly drunk for the performance. He talked a lot and sometimes slurred his words. He talked about friends who had died, how it was his concert, how much he loved Calgary and on it went. He repeated a lot of what he said. The sound system was terrible, At one point, he actually yelled at the person responsible for the sound of his guitar; three times during one song. He constantly apologized for all of the things going wrong, always blaming other people. His voice was very poor and even talked sometimes when during his songs, as his band continued to play.

David Cassidy - I need brain bleach

by Devastated on 2013-10-13Deerfoot Casino - Calgary

As a young girl, I was so in love with David Cassidy but growing up in a small town on the prairies, you never got to see much in the way of concerts so 40 years later...imagine my excitement at the thought of seeing my teen idol ! My dreams were crushed when he strolled on to the stage...so obviously drunk it was horrifying..the weird grin that drunk people have when trying to look normal...it all went downhill from there. He talked too much, named dropped about song writers we were supposed to be impressed with and was rude to the crowd when they started talking (as he was not singing). All we wanted was to hear the songs from the partridge family and his own hits but he was more interested in trying to be Jimmy Hendrix and he failed miserably. I wish I had brain bleach to erase my memory of his concert (and I use the term concert loosely)....my fond memories of David Cassidy have died...just like his talent...so very, very sad.

Teen Idol at 61 years old!

by Teleking on 2011-05-24River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

Okay, it was a good show, not great. Band was good, not perfect. David sounded pretty reasonable but that's it. He seems VERY uncomfortable with his teen idol status from years gone by and does not embrace it in the least. Mediocre covers of old '60's and '70's tunes by other artists were bar band quality. Why the woman playing drums was fronting the band for one song (a cover of the Pretenders) is beyond me. Maybe so we could see David was not really good at drums? The good part was the Partridge Family stuff. Done fairly well with the voice that made them famous. The funny part for me was all the middle aged women going bananas. you'd think they were still 14 years old with a big crush on David. Some were throwing their underwear onstage! But like I said, David didn't seem to embrace his past. He seemed annoyed when someone would approach the stage with an old Partridge Family album or poster. I know it all sounds negative but it really was a lot of fun and all the women made it entertaining for me!

    David Cassidy is still HOT!

by shvlake on 2011-05-24River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

David Cassidy puts on a great show. He is very entertaining in his singing and his personality. He is very tuned into his audience and lets everyone know how much he appreciates them. I will definatly be at his next concert here and at his Las Vegas show he told us he was going to be doing in 2012.

    River Rock & David Cassidy!

by Maxie13 on 2011-05-22River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

I went to see David Cassidy and wanted to stay at the same hotel so I didn't have to find a taxi back to a hotel. Well, those were 2 great choices! David's show was amazing and I would love it if he would come to Kelowna one day! Staying at the River Rock was also amazing. It was a trip worthwhile - David sounding better than ever and clearly enjoying his time with us almost as much as we, the audience, enjoyed being there!

    David is better than ever!

by Hairmama on 2011-05-22River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

I had a great time -- Cassidy is charismatic, an excellent showman and is far more talented as a musician than I would have believed, based on my experience of him as a 70's teen idol. Could've listened/rocked-out to the music all night. His back up band was superb, too -- seasoned musicians who knew their stuff. Although it was nice to hear some of his old hits (some of which were rearranged, and improved by their new arrangement, I thought), I think he is held back, as an artist, by the public's demand for his old bubblegum stuff. It was super-annoying that some fans advanced upon the stage to try and get Cassidy's autograph WHILE HE WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF SINGING/PLAYING A SONG! HOW RUDE IS THAT?! I'm glad that Cassidy ignored the autograph seekers and that security sent them back to their seats. Altogether a memorable experience. Look forward to seeing him again, possibly in Vegas.

    David Cassidy

by Anonymous on 2011-03-07Casino Rama - Orillia

I loved the show but thought that David was a bit off in his attitude towards a fan - maybe due to the fact he had a cold. He was not as friendly to the crowd as I had seen in the past but he was still David and I was glad I went to see him. He sang many Partridge Family songs that brought back memories of my youth. I would go to see him again.

    Disappointing David Cassidy

    by jaxonjeep78 on 2011-03-06Casino Rama - Orillia

Very disappointing event, he was rude to the crown in front of him, constantly wiping the sweat from his forhead, explained he was fighting a cold, voice was not up to par, wanting to hear the songs from yesterday, changed the scoring and not sang all the words to the songs.

    David Cassidy was awesome

by Trudykiwi on 2011-03-06Casino Rama - Orillia

I was so impressed with David - he was in fine voice despite having a cold. He totally related to the audience and has an amazing sense of humour. I've never been at such an interactive concert and it was just adorable how he was talking to the fans up front. Overall it was a very entertaining evening. The only downside is that it seemed so short!

We really enjoyed his stories and off the cuff remarks to the audience which were quite engaging and amusing. HIs voice is still great.
