    David Cook was solid

    by Puzz3DCat on 2009-10-04Ritual Nightclub - Ottawa

I was surprised in the venue David Cook played in in Ottawa - sort of a dingy nightclub. However, the audience was able to get up close and personal with him and he was rather charming. His performance was solid, great vocals! The show started at 8 pm and was over by 9:30 pm. I had contacted the radio station prior to the show as I heard them indicate an opening act - The Script. This band, along with David Cook, sold me on purchasing tickets. Unfortunately The Script were not to be had. Someone got their info wrong and instead of a great opening act, there was a random, one-man show who opened. Although he had solid vocals, his music was somewhat depressing - not what you want to get the audience 'ready'. I had already purchased David Cook's CD, which I like and also went out and bought The Script's - FABULOUS! Overall it was a good half-show. Lesson learned: believe the band's website as to their tour dates.

    Very intimate

by HugeCookFan on 2009-10-04Ritual Nightclub - Ottawa

We thought the club was small for this concert at first, but It ended up being perfect.... He was 10 feet away, had great crowd interaction and it just couldn't have been any better (except the club got really hot - turn some fans on!!). We would go to this venue again in a heartbeat, if you get the right spot in the club - it's like he's playing for only you!!

    David Cook rocked Ottawa!!!!

    by ben049 on 2009-10-04Ritual Nightclub - Ottawa

This is one of the best show i`ve seen!!! The charismatic David Cook gave us an amazing performance that included songs from is CD and some great covers like Livin' on a prayer, Died in your arms tonight and World I know. David`s voice was just amazing backed up by a solid band that included Our Lady Peace`s drummer (for the Canadian dates only). The Ritual Nightclub was the perfect venue for this more intimate performance (300 persons packed in this place!). Bottom line: Awesome show, next time he`s in Ottawa, i`m there!

David Cook and the Anthemic were amazing

by OttawaReviewer on 2009-10-04Ritual Nightclub - Ottawa

I'm sure this will be an "I was there when..." memory. A small, intimate venue meant up close and personal. Set list included several acoustic numbers along with the hard core rockers. David would not allow us NOT to have a great time. This concert showcased the many aspects of David Cook - raw emotion, intelligence, fun, musicality, soul. And the axiom (Axium) that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts held true - The Anthemic (with Jeremy Taggart of Our Lady Peace doing a remarkable job of filling in for the usual drummer Kyle on very short notice) were absolutely amazing.

David Cook and The Anthemic - WoW!

by MJNick on 2009-08-27Showbox SoDo - Seattle

This group of guys is an absolute pleasure to be in the same room with. After the opening group, Crash Kings, were finished their set and the stage was being arranged for David Cook you could feel the anticipation in the crowd and it was as if everyone suddenly stood up--we were already standing. From the first song through the last you want to join in, sing along, and be a part of the antics on stage. They are fun to be with and you can feel the tremendous effort put into each song by each member of the group and then to be able to witness the enjoyment they obviously get from each other and from performing together as a team is truly an experience to enjoy. David Cook and the Anthemic - you are a class act. I hope to see you a hundred times more!

    David Cook rocked the Box!

by Dani on 2009-08-26Showbox SoDo - Seattle

As was to be expected, David Cook put on a high energy show that displayed his sexy voice in the best way possible. Witty in between songs, joking with the band, grateful for the opportunity to be playing in the city that inspired his style of music, he made the night.

Man, this show was so amazing - awesome and fun!

by dcdr on 2009-08-25Showbox SoDo - Seattle

David Cook's vocal range is unbelievable! And the length he holds those notes - wow! I love his banter - he always knows a little something about the city and the venue he plays in. And when he plays his guitar - the way he spanked it at one point yesterday - whew!! He has to be my favorite performer right now - can't get enough of him. I love it when the other members sing in harmony with him, and when Andy gets whacking that guitar too - yep. Kyle and Monty fit right in with the 3 musketeers. But by far, some of my fave moments were when Neal played his solos. What he can do with his guitars makes me shiver. I'm planning on going to more shows because these guys really put on a fantastic performance - it seems to go by too fast though. Good thing for YouTube. Thanks guys!!

    Wicked show

by Wildfire on 2009-07-16DECC Auditorium - Duluth

I've been wanting to see David Cook in concert for awhile now and he didn't disappoint. He, along with his band, rocked Duluth pretty hard and put on an amazing show. He interacted a lot with the crowd and made the night one to remember. Needtobreathe was also a great opening band.
