Once in a lifetime experence, great guys to meet they can still show the younger groups how its done!
The Deep Purple set list was very good except it was missing my favourite song "Child in Time". Steve Morse guitar work was simply amazing!! Would see this show again and highly recommend this to other fans.
When I was a lad, they were the band I most would have liked to see. Well, 35 years later, I did, at the MTS Center in Winnipeg! They put on a show, just as I expected, hard and heavy, loud (just right, not too loud). The rocked, they solo'd; jamming with each other! Though, I wish they had played Child in Time. Excellent! Thanks, guys.
Let me tell you they can still rock Ian Gillian voice still very strong ans Ian paige one of the best drummer
Deep Purple still can rock with the best of them. Good classic tunes. The sound was a little off but overall a really good time to be had.
Great show. I love Hamilton Place as a venue. The place is acoustically built for sound. Superb, over-the-top light show for Deep Purple. Steve Morse is so musical and a virtuoso on the guitar. Great job. $am
Sound wasn't that good as I expected. Without Blackmore and Lord the band looked just averaged
The bands performance & sound was amazing. They covered a lot of the old favourites & they seemed too still be having a good time performing & look forward to their next album project.
While he can't hit the upper registers with the power of the past, Ian Gillan is a warrior well worth the admission. Veterans Ian Paice and Roger Glover amazed with how little they've lost in over 40 years while more recent additions Don Errey{keyboards} and Steve Morse{guitar}, added the pleasing mix of virtuosity and ferocity. Classic Rock legends still at the top of their game.
Ian Gillan is my favourite vocalist of all time - he still has that great tone, maybe not as many screams but still powerful. Paice and Glover are an incredible rhythm section - love the way Glover plays to the crowd. Morse is amazing, yet another guitar legend from this band! It is hard to replace Jon Lord - but Airey does a fantastic job. Great show - if you have any interest whatsoever - go see them!
I bought these tickets for my husband who is a great fan from when he lived in Germany. He really wanted me to go with him so I did as a favour to him expecting to not like it at all. I was absolutely stunned by the quality of the musicianship of these artists. Supberb. They were fabulous. Very entertaining. Loved it.
The event was overpriced at 100 per seat but I enjoyed the show. Good ole rock n roll. The band were extremely talented. Opening band was also enjoyable
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very happy!!
this is definitely one of the best concert I've been to. between the band's experience and the theatre it was just awesome ! the sound quality was just amazing and the band played all of their hits, NON STOP. we were in Row K and it was one of the best spot as we were right in the middle Very good concert, MUST SEE
Had great seats to start with - floor on the end - line of sight was great. Sound was arena sound - the Massey Hall venue provided much better sound! What can I say about the band? They still have the sound albeit somewhat lower in the range registered! Ian Gillian, even with a cast on his foot didn't slow down - just kept those tunes coming! Ian Paice did one of the best Mules heard in a while! Steve Morse - well, can't say enough! Don Airey was terrific, throwing in a touch of Oh Canada in the middle of his solo, and then my personal favourite, Roger Glover - his impish expressions and amazing fingers make those bass lines fly!
What could one say, they rocked it when were given the challenge. I had a great seat for a great event to see a great band. I thought they were absolutely wonderful and any review is opinion based but that is where I stand. Rock on Deep Purple you brought it.
Awesome display of passion from the grandfathers of hard rock. Gillan surprisingly trim, kudos for gignerly moving about the stage while with that cast on. Paice still the best in business, as ever - Roger not far behind. And this guy Airey - superb!. Morse always great when playing his stuff; should not be shy playing Rithchie's licks as they will always sound the best atuned to the DP-brand of rock. I had attended their Belgrade, Serbia gig in '74 while ther were promoting the Burn album. While they were in their prime then I must say they still sound as great as ever. Boys, all the best for the CDN tour! Simke
Deep Purple together with Jimi Hendrix, Animals, Them (Van Morrison). Doors, Cream, Artwoods, Peter Frampton - belongs to my favorites bands and I always wanted to see them but I never had a chance Concert was exellent. All members of Deep Purple are in very good musical shape however I do have two small concerns: I think that musical parts were bit to long and I don't understend why they didn't play their bigest hit (for me) CHILD in TIME. Maybe because in some parts of that song vocal go to high and Ian Gillan was afraid that he will not be able to make it.
Deep Purple started incredibly (Highway Star) and never let up. Gillian's foot brace slowed his ability to move his tall frame around the stage but had no impact on his vocals. Still great range. Paice, Glover, Airey, Morse - all virtuoso performances. So many songs to choose from, and yes the biggies all get nailed. Fantastic Show. Monster Truck was a very nice surprise. High energy and terrific musicianship. Keep an eye on these guys.
