About

Def Leppard are a hard rock band from Sheffield, England and one of the best-selling music acts of all time. The group has sold over 100 million records worldwide and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019 with the current lineup of drummer Rick Allen, guitarists Vivian Campbell and Phil Collen, frontman Joe Elliott and bassist Rick Savage as well as former guitarist Pete Willis and late guitarist Steve Clark. Since forming in 1976, Def Leppard have released 12 studio albums, including their 1980 debut On Through the Night and 1996’s Slang, the first full-length effort featuring the band’s ongoing roster. Def Leppard are one of few bands to notch two diamond-certified albums, for 1983’s Pyromania and 1987’s Hysteria, which both peaked at No. 2 and No. 1 on the Billboard 200, respectively. Overall, the band have earned eight Top 10 albums led by 15 Top 40 singles such as “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” “Photograph,” “Rock of Ages,” “Animal” and the 1988 Hot 100 chart-topper “Love Bites.”

  • Def Leppard never fails

    by Bones1 on 2009-08-03Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

I am really disappointed at the time alloted to each band. I go every year to see Def Leppard at the amphatheatre and I know that it was cut short this year due to fireworks. They did not play half of what they usually do. I won't go again if it falls on a fireworks weekend again. I am not even sure what the fireworks were for.....it was USA birthday not ours.

  • Def Leppard, Cheap Trick and Poison

    by Chipper68 on 2009-08-02Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Even better than I expected! Poison did way more songs than I thought they would, but Def Leppard seemed cut short. They were great, but I would have liked to see more Def Leppard.

  • Def Leppard and Poison

by Poisonscanadiancousin on 2009-08-01Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Talk about 2 of the greatest bands from the 80's under one roof for the evening. Despite Poison only having 45 minutes, they still rocked the house down. Cheap Trick was okay despite not playing their big hit from the 80's, The Flame. If they were not there and gave Poison their slot too, it would have been killer. Def Leppard was more mature on stage cranking out the hits with a video package in the background. I almost forgot how many hits they actually have. The highlight for me was two steps behind as the band went to the front of the stage acoustically. All and all, a very fun evening.

  • Great Show

by shadypie on 2009-08-01Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

The concert was great, the bands still rock. The only problem was the shortness of the concert because of a fireworks show afterwards.

  • Def Leppard with Poison and Cheap Trick

by Chatty on 2009-07-31Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Def Leppard was awesome as usual. A little disappointed in Poison. Seen th m before but they seemed off. Had to keep taking breaks between songs. Cheap Trick was ok. Not my favourite! But Def Leppard rocked it!

  • They still got it!

by DerekB on 2009-07-30Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

This show was great from start to finish. Cheap Trick sounded good, and they were a perfect opener. Poison sounded fantastic, and really got the crowd on their feet, and even outshined Def Leppard. Def was great as well, but sounded a little softer than Poison. Overall a great show though.

  • Too bad Toronto is ill prepared for large events

by Wigglin on 2009-07-30Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

I purchased tickets because I really wanted to see CHEAP TRICK; Def Leppard was a bonus and didn't really expect much from Poison. I left our lake Simcoe area and arrived with plenty of time to get to the show. BUT the Lakeshore traffic was incredibly backed up. I was in the turn lane to get into the Ontario parking lot for 30 minutes and was saved by a taxi driver going the other way when he told me there was no more parking at Ontario Place. So I parked at the EX. By the time we got into the show, I only caught the last two Cheap Trick songs; Poison turned out to be great with powerful sound and vocals and Def Leppard sounded tired and a bit worn out. (Still LOVE Def's music though!!) We left early to beat the traffic out. I had wished that somehow we could've been forewarned, either by a sign up the road or an announcement on the radio that parking was sparse. I found myself thinking that I should have spent the day at Ontario place to get to the show on time or next time only purchase tickets to my favorite downtown venue, MASSEY HALL. I recently went to the 'NO Doubt' concert at the ACC, again, it was difficult to find it and parking once I was off the Gardner, although I could see it from the Gardner. It's not always easy if you are not familiar with downtown to get at these events. Many people have to drive when they come from outside of the GTA.

  • wow....way more then i expected!!!

by jayjaysmiling on 2009-07-29Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

this year i have 10 concerts that i will attend. this was the one i was least looking forward to if i was just looking at the list in front of me. BUT I must say after going to it, it certainly was a really great concert! The music, atmosphere, people were all awesome :)

  • Decades later, still great!

by concertjunkee on 2009-07-29Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

What a great line-up at the Molson Amphitheatre! All the bands were great. It was a treat seeing Cheap Trick after so many years. Still wondering what Rick Neilson's guitar case looks like, expecially when the guitar has five necks! Would it be...square? The years haven't affected Poison who put on a high energy show. Def Lep churned out the hits and some new tunes, all very entertaining.

  • Def Leppard - Amazing!!

by Dobeden on 2009-07-29Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Cheap Trick warmed the crowd. Poison was great, played all their hits! Top form!! Then the show we were waiting for... Def Leppard rocked the stage. They still got it at their age, vocals tight and together.

The concert was outstanding! They really got the crowd on their feet. Could not believe how great they sounded along with the best videos I've seen in ages.

  • Poison were great

by Flasheroo on 2009-07-28Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

All 3 groups were outstanding. Poison put on an unbelieveable show and could headline their own show now. Cheap Trick were fantastic. Def Leppard did not hold back and rocked the amphithater. This show was well worth going to.

  • All 3 bands rocked!!!!

    by 21guns on 2009-07-28Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

  • Tricky Poisonous Leppard summer '09

    by Facelessteen7 on 2009-07-28Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I am very happy to say that this was actually my first real concert that i have attended. there was no other concert i would rather have seen as my first because these guys were all classic and soo awesome! because we were fairly last minute goign we decided to buy the "cheap seats" in the lawn at the amphitheatre but they were great for if u just want to go and sprawl out on the grass with your friends and listen to some amazing music. from the back you still get that amazing sound that only these bands can dish out and you get more room so i was almost happier to have sat back there and still be able to see the guys on stage. overall this concert was great and i will deffinitely be back there for more concerts and will of course recommend the molson amphitheatre to all my friends!

  • Def Leppard with Poison & Cheap Trick

by catzeyez on 2009-07-28Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

The Def Lep gang was awesome as usual! This was my 2nd time seeing them and they put on a great performance. Everyone was dancing and out of their seats having a great time with each other. The fans were really hyped and friendly and made the night even more enjoyable. I hope to see Def Leppard again in a few years! Maybe next time they could do without a 2nd band though, it would have been better to see more of Def Leppard.

  • Def Leppard Review

by mgabert on 2009-07-28DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

Def Leppard always puts on an amazing show, and are a fantastic live band. I always make an effort to go see them every year when they tour and have never been disappointed with them. I was surprised by Poison putting on such a good show. However I can't say the same for Cheap Trick. The band is clearly past their prime, and although their songs are still good, they sounded terrible.

  • Def Leppard was brilliant!

by LillyArabella on 2009-07-28Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Like a shiny new penny, Def Leppard is a band that sets itself apart from all others. With so many familiar songs, one may think hearing them live would be no different than listening to their greatest hits cd. Nothing could be further from the truth. Yes they play the songs we all know and love, but the participation of the crowd is mind-blowing. To look out and see the place full beyond capacity and hearing the fans sing-along is proof that Def Leppard is music to many ears which can't be experienced or duplicated on any cd or music video.

  • Def Leppard still Rules!

by Bunzai on 2009-07-27Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Simply Awesome. Great Line up. Started of the evening with Cheap Trick totally retro. Followed by Poison, intoxicating after 20 years, then Def Leppard for the main event to knock you off your seat! If you sat through this event better check your pulse!

  • Kickin' it old school

    by SEBS1234 on 2009-07-27Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The over all show was pretty amazing. being able to see three epic metal bands play like they were 25 again was something i will never forget. Not only did the impressive solos amaze me but the energy that the musicians were able to get out of their crowd was unbelievable. this is the first concert where i have seen so much energy come from the crowd and the musicians which made this experience unforgettable. to sum it all up, this is one of the best concerts i have ever seen.
