About

Def Leppard are a hard rock band from Sheffield, England and one of the best-selling music acts of all time. The group has sold over 100 million records worldwide and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019 with the current lineup of drummer Rick Allen, guitarists Vivian Campbell and Phil Collen, frontman Joe Elliott and bassist Rick Savage as well as former guitarist Pete Willis and late guitarist Steve Clark. Since forming in 1976, Def Leppard have released 12 studio albums, including their 1980 debut On Through the Night and 1996’s Slang, the first full-length effort featuring the band’s ongoing roster. Def Leppard are one of few bands to notch two diamond-certified albums, for 1983’s Pyromania and 1987’s Hysteria, which both peaked at No. 2 and No. 1 on the Billboard 200, respectively. Overall, the band have earned eight Top 10 albums led by 15 Top 40 singles such as “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” “Photograph,” “Rock of Ages,” “Animal” and the 1988 Hot 100 chart-topper “Love Bites.”

  • Def Leppard & Poison rocked

by VeteranRockStar on 2009-09-10MGM Grand Hotel - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

I've never seen Poison before and got exactly what I expected. After seeing how Bret treats his fans and audiences on his tv show I hoped that was real...and he didn't disappoint! Really impressed. I've seen Def three times and each one is differently awesome. The thing that stands out about this one is the fact that 30% of the concert was songs that I have never heard them play at the other concerts I've been to. They defy time with their classic rock songs. I will always make every effort to see them, including this time, as I came from Canada to see them in Vegas. Cheap Trick was sub par on a stage with these bands. The lead singer sounded okay but he couldn't get the crowd into it and he was off the stage a good 2-3 minutes before the rest of the band when they were done. Just apparantly didn't care.

  • Def Leppard was everything I'd hoped for and more!

I have been waiting for 10 years to get the opportunity to see Def Leppard! I was actually at a concert once but got hurt and didn't get to see them! It was an amazing concert! I was rocking the whole time.....had great seats. Poison and Cheap Trick were great too and the whole night was unforgettable! I will definitely go and see them again.....if they aren't done touring that is!!! Highly recommended!!!

  • Great Concert

Def Leppard was awesome and they played all their best songs. Poison rocked the house. Cheap Trick was just a bonus.

  • These boys still rock!!!!

by chrisb on 2009-09-09MGM Grand Hotel - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

I've been a fan of Def Leppard for 27 out of their 30 years and have seen them quite a few times already. Bottom line is: They dont disappoint! I flew down from Vancouver with a few friends to see their show in Vegas and it was one of my favourite concerts I've seen in a long time! Cheap Trick started the show and they played their main hits over the many years they have been in this business and they still know how to get the crowd going. I was so glad to see that they were the opening act of this already fantastic lineup and the fans there seemed to agree. Next up was Poison. I love these guys and haven't seen them perform since the late 80's. What a great show they put on! Another band that played all their hits, catered to the crowd and seemed to enjoy themselves out there on that stage. Brett Michaels is a true entertainer and clearly loves what he does! Last but definitely not least, and the reason for this trip was Def Leppard. All I can say is thanks guys for another fantastic show! Playing most of the late 80's and early 90's hits. The crowd was on their feet from start to finish and pretty sure a lot of us had no voices left by the end of it due to screaming the lyrics to our favourite songs! I hope you come up to Vancouver so I can get a repeat performance!!

  • A LEGENDARY BRITISH ROCK GROUP INVADES LAS VEGAS

DEF LEPPARD FANS ARE GIVEN STRING OF HITS WHICH BROUGHT THE HOUSE DOWN! LEGENDS IN THEIR OWN RIGHT

  • Def Leppard seems tired

by BradN on 2009-09-07MGM Grand Hotel - Las VegasRating: 1 out of 5

I should preface this review by saying I am not huge and devote fan of Def Leppard. I grew up on their music and saw them in the 90's and loved it so I decided to build a trip to Vegas around seeing them again. Vegas is not where you want to see a band in concert. No one stays in there seats, everyone is drunk or is focused on getting drunk. The sound in the Grand Arena is horrible you could not make out any lyrics, but maybe it was the fact they can't sing like they used to. Poison was good albeight a condensed performance being they were an oppening act and Cheap Trick was kind of a novelty. If you are a hyge fan of Def Leppard I hope you are forgiving as they can longer hit the notes like they once could.

  • Def Leppard Rocked the house!

by cmore on 2009-09-07MGM Grand Hotel - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen Def Leppard a couple of times before and they alway give a great show. They love their fans and you can feel it. Poison were also very good and entertaining. You can tell these guys like to party. They played their greatest hits. Cheap Trick were alright but not great. They played a bunch of new songs no one care about. This is a best of tour, not a promotional tour.

  • Def + Poison + Cheap Trick = Thumbs Up

by firstdaughter on 2009-09-07MGM Grand Hotel - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Had an awesome time!! One of the most entertaining shows I've seen. Played all my favorites!!

  • Def Leppard and Poison were AWESOME!!!!!

by Tinkerbell69 on 2009-09-07MGM Grand Hotel - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

I wasn't too impressed with Cheap Trick, but Def Leppard and Poison blew me away!!!! I have always loved Def Leppard and have seen them many times, but they were fabulous in Vegas. I really enjoyed them much more at the MGM Grand then I did when they played at Mandalay Bay. I am sure it had to do with the venue more then anything! I have never seen Poison live, but WOW!!!! Hats off to them and Def Leppard!!!!!!

  • Spectacular

by OutwestHighRiver on 2009-09-06MGM Grand Hotel - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Trip back to the 80's, a four hour show started by Cheap Trick with old hits and new humour. Poison always has energy. Def Leppard tried to squeeze all their hits in to the time frame they had. Joe Elliot conserves his voice by allowing more rocking guitar solos and passing some of the vocals on to fellow band members. MGM Grand garden arena has awesome sound.

  • Let the 80's Rule!!

by BarbarellaGal on 2009-08-12Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

One of the best shows I've ever seen!! Def Leppard can still put off a show as if it was the 80's. They played all the big hits and had the crowd rockin' all night!! No one can put on a show like these boys!! Definitely grab a ticket and go!!

  • A professional and well rehearsed show

    by althoma1 on 2009-08-11Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Def Leppard is tight, practiced and knows how to perform. My only Chriticism would be their shows are so planned and rehearsed there's not much spontoniety. The show was almost exactly the same as the one I saw at Copps the year before just a different venue. Even the ending line of, "We won't forget you if you don't forget us" was the same.

  • Poison & Def Leppard- the dream concert!

by Dinadis on 2009-08-10Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing show! Putting Poison with Def Leppard was the best idea ever- they rocked the house down! An awesome audience with tons of energy made this one of the best concerts I've been to. Fireworks at the end of the night was the ultimate finale!

  • def leppard still rocks

by cwoods on 2009-08-10Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Having two established bands instead of a relatively unknown opening band was great. I really enjoyed Cheap Trick, poison was good, but Def Leppard was absolutely fantastic! Had a great time, long live the 80's.

  • Def Leopard

by tobad on 2009-08-09Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

It was an awesome concert, Would go back, I liked everything about it.

  • Def Leppard still has it

by BurlingtonTom on 2009-08-07Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Very slick... Def Leppard still has the ability to belt the tunes. Altho Joe struggles with some of the higher notes (who doesn't), the package was very slick... can't think of one missed note. Very polished. They played all their hits, I can recall only one song from their latest stuff.

  • worth the wait!

    by ladyfromthe80s on 2009-08-06Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I have loved these 3 bands back in the 80's and still love them to this day. Same old songs and yet when you hear your favourite song it takes you back to when you first fell in love with them! The music and the songs will never get old, only us.. I would love for them to come back to Toronto, I would not hesitate to go back and party again! I went with my daughter and 2 of my closest friends and we all had a blast! It goes to show, they can entertain form the ages of 18 to 44. Keep on rockin' guys!!! Love ya. Until next time!

  • Def Leppard were great once again!!

by Grimley on 2009-08-06Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

The show was everything I expected. Unfortunately there was a fireworks show at 10:35 PM so the concert had to be cut short. Still enjoyable !!

  • Awesome Show!!!
