About

Def Leppard are a hard rock band from Sheffield, England and one of the best-selling music acts of all time. The group has sold over 100 million records worldwide and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019 with the current lineup of drummer Rick Allen, guitarists Vivian Campbell and Phil Collen, frontman Joe Elliott and bassist Rick Savage as well as former guitarist Pete Willis and late guitarist Steve Clark. Since forming in 1976, Def Leppard have released 12 studio albums, including their 1980 debut On Through the Night and 1996’s Slang, the first full-length effort featuring the band’s ongoing roster. Def Leppard are one of few bands to notch two diamond-certified albums, for 1983’s Pyromania and 1987’s Hysteria, which both peaked at No. 2 and No. 1 on the Billboard 200, respectively. Overall, the band have earned eight Top 10 albums led by 15 Top 40 singles such as “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” “Photograph,” “Rock of Ages,” “Animal” and the 1988 Hot 100 chart-topper “Love Bites.”

  • Def Leppard still has it!

    by Tor2112 on 2009-07-24Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

This was a great show for all those who want to remember back to those great glam rock and metal days of the late 1980's. Def Leppard still has that signature sound that made them huge hit makers. I have seen the band a couple of times now and they do not disappoint. The sound at the Amphitheater was great and played to their strengths. Poison was a good prelude to the main attraction but seemed very outclassed by Def Leppard. They did sound pretty good but almost seemed like a caricature of what the band was in the 80's (I was a huge fan back then). Their chemistry seemed a little contrived and you could sense some tension between Bret and the rest of the band. The big surprise for me was Cheap Trick. I have never been a fan of the band and thought they would just be there to keep people entertained while they found their seats but they were great. Very tight and up tempo. The highlight of their set was a version of "A Day In The Life" by the Beatles. It was Awesome!

Great show! Some 80's bands touring recently really should stay retired..............Def Leppard is NOT one of them! They still got it!

  • Def Leppard was fantastic

    by stance747 on 2009-07-24Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Concert was awesome – took me back to those good old high school days! Everything ran on time even with all the set changes! Good to see Brett up and well after his mishap at the awards show!

  • Def Leppard was the best of the bunch!!

by RonStorm on 2009-07-24Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

By far the night got better as the bands played. Cheap Trick didn't really speak to me and while Poison was fun, they had a very raw sound. I will say that Poison still has a big presence andeven without any stage accoutrements and flash, they play well to the crowd. But when Def Leppard came on, you could tell who owned the concert. They have a polished show, coordination of songs, choreography and although Joe Elliot has gotten a little fat in the face, he can still sing like it's 1987!! I give the entire night 4 out of 5 stars

  • Def Leppard rocks!

    by scoumont01 on 2009-07-24Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

An outdoor venue was awesome to experience. Even one band member mentioned how it was so cool to be seeing a sunset on one side of the sky and the rising moon on the other. Great weather. Location was great because the GO train was nearby (5 min. walk) - I would definitely see other concerts at the Molson Amphitheatre again. A guy behind me mentioned that he felt like a teenager again. I agreed with him. My 14 year old son piped up and agreed as well (LOL!) Didn't like the fact that the beer stopped flowing at 9:30 p.m. What's up with that? The concert didn't end until 11 p.m. Oh, well. Still had a good time. Glad I went.

  • Loved Def Leppard

by KimmyRM on 2009-07-24Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

All 3 bands were great. Def Leppard still has the stuff!

  • Cheap Trick/Poison/Del Leppard Rocked!

by Sixxgunner on 2009-07-24Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Fantastic show. All three bands were on big time. Cheap Trick debuted a Day in the LIfe. Poison were solid as always and had the crowd singing. Def Leppard were much better than anticipated and I would see them again.

We missed Cheap Trick... Poison was not good at all. However, Def Leppard put on a good show. I'm not a hardcore follower of the group, but I think that fans of the group would very much enjoy it.

  • Nuthin' but a SNOOZE time!!

by jpizzO on 2009-07-24Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

The night was warm but the headliner was lame. I've been to every Poison show each summer and did so again knowing Poison wasn't the headliner. I thought that it wouldn't make a difference - but it did. The Leps are showing their age and the slow-down mid. set numbers that turned the already poor sounding show into a highschool dance with back to back slow songs really reminded me why Poison is such a great time and should have headlined. Even with diminished set, Brett works a crowd and their music, while not timeless, is perfect for a summer's evening filled with Rock. If I never hear "Do you want to get Rocked" in this lifetime.. it will be too soon. Come back soon Poison.

This is the first time I've seen these bands live. This concert was AWESOME - Def Leppard and Bret Michaels sounded AMAZING!!! They played all of their best music. I would see any of these bands again in a heartbeat. I would even pay more to be closer to the stage.

  • SWEET!

by ClaireRkr on 2009-07-24Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Def Leppard was AMAZING!! Played all the hits - was not disappointed at all!! Poison was pretty sweet too - but the sound didn't seem as good - overall a really sweet show though.

    by Davis4109 on 2009-07-24Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

took my 13 year old Son to his 1st Rock Concert featuring Def Leppard...he loved it! Although he found it loud, the experience for him was life long. I too thought the show was amazing and the sound quality spectacular.

  • Def Leppard FTW!

by Youngdude on 2009-07-24Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The venue is amazing! Only issue was getting ID'd AFTER buying beers. But I guess it's understandable. Cheap trick was alright though I'm not much of a fan. Poison were acceptable but nothing to write home about. Def Leppard however never dissapoint! 2nd time seeing them in a year. Phenomenal setlist with a good mix of new and classic tracks. Sound was incredible as always and the band was in good form all around. Best concert I've seen yet!! 5 stars based solely on DL
