About

DIANA ROSS IN CONCERT:

As Billboard's "Female Entertainer of the Century," Diana Ross holds an unrivaled place among R&B's rich history of legendary divas. From her time leading the Supremes to her extraordinary solo career, Ross's supple voice, striking looks, and effortless style have made her a timeless icon, as charismatic today as she was in the '60s. Featuring her greatest hits, Motown-inspired backup singers, and all the costume changes you'd expect from a diva's diva, Ross's 2013 shows stunned, setting expectations sky high for her 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born and raised in Detroit, Ross rose to international superstardom in the '60s as leader of the Supremes, the group that became Motown Records'  golden goose with an unprecedented ten No. 1 hits between the years 1964-1967. After fulfilling her contract with the group, Ross released her self-titled solo debut in 1970, earning her first Grammy nomination with soul classic "Ain't No Mountain High Enough." Following the success of her first solo TV special Diana!, Ross once again topped the charts with 1973's "Touch Me in the Morning," going on to release a hugely successful duet album with Marvin Gaye later that year. In addition to her chart success, Ross established herself as a skilled actor with acclaimed appearances in classic '70s films including Mahogany and The Wiz. Over a career that spans more than half a century, Ross has released 27 Top 40 singles, earning a Guinness World Record as the most successful female artist of all time.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Diana is still the beautiful diva she's always been and stuns in her many sparkling costumes, singing all of the many, many favorites that have made her loved by so many."

"Her voice was wonderful. She was so professional and knew how to work a crowd. Great selection of songs. And her costume changes were fantastic."

"Still a Diva, glamorous, elegant, classy... It was a wonderful show. The crowd in New Orleans adored her, were on their feet almost the entire time, singing along and dancing to her hits -- all well-delivered."

  • Great Show!

by Golf Lover on 2023-09-12The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - WindsorRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing show for a person of her age. Voice was as good as her early days, looks phenomenal especially her hair. Sang continuously except during costume changes when her entourage kept you entertained. Costumes were colourful and elaborate. She didn't waste time with a lot of chatter. She gave us a great show

This was a wonderful experience: the ease of buying good tickets, the emails to plan ahead and arrive early, the smooth security check-in, and an amazing 90 minute show with Ms. Ross. There was an unexpected glitch; the man seated in front of us became ill and his wife went to get Security. A calm woman and several strong young men from the Security staff moved in quickly, assessed the situation, and got the man out of the row, into a wheelchair and out to an ambulance. Only bad part? The LONG wait at Valet Parking. The show ended at 10 and we got our car at 11:30...

  • Diana was incredible!

I thought the show was extremely well done and Diana’s talent shone bright! The venue was good, except for the massive lines to get in. That definitely needs improvement. The show was so much fun, would love to see it again!!

  • Amazing!!!

She sang just like the Diana of the 60’s, 70’s & 80’s. She was all that anyone could possibly expect her to be, after 50yrs on the stage. We all would love to have heard more, but I feel fortunate and content to have witnessed a quality performance from Diana in 2023.

We saw her at the Windsor Casino and she put on an AMAZING show complete with outfit changes and all! I still can't believe she's 79!

  • Absolutely Amazing!

Diana’s show was truly an experience of a lifetime. Her performance was stellar - her beauty, impeccable voice, grace, energy, how she engaged with the crowd, her famous beautiful smile, and gorgeous gowns were truly unforgettable! How is it that Diana doesn’t age? I loved every minute of her show!

  • Awesome

by Sharon on 2023-09-11The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - WindsorRating: 5 out of 5

Diana was fabulous. I was impressed with how strong her voice still is. I was so glad she did her old favourites and didn't push her new album, like Tom Jones did. It was a truly great, fun show. She was beautiful. her costumes were gorgeous. The only problem, (and a lot of others were talking about it on the way out), was the band, quite a few times they played so loud you couldn't hear her. Other than that it was an awesome show. We would go see her again. Keep up the great work Diana, You are one of a kind. Thank you for the wonderful show.

  • Large purses

by London Kate on 2023-09-11The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - WindsorRating: 4 out of 5

The Casino should have checking lockers for people who forgot and brought large purses . Making them walk for 45 minutes to get it back to their car is not customer friendly . Staff were all wonderful , smiles well dressed .. So nice to see .

  • The Queen of Motown’s Concert seemed off ..

by JR on 2023-09-11The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - WindsorRating: 3 out of 5

DIANA’s show at Windsor’s Caesar seemed off, on September 8, 2023 … There were some production elements and values missing this nite from previous shows on this tour, making it seem ‘bare bones’ and feel trite: 1 . The beautiful 8–10 minute film montage of her career journey, played at the beginning at other venues , to set up the concert was gone .. at other venues the ‘montage’ raised the audience expectations and excitement leading up to her ‘I’m Coming Out’ anthem … 2. The candid audience ‘live ‘ camera played and projected through out previous shows was gone or missing 3. Three brass instrument players were missing they would fill in and support the one Sax player that played this nite … 4. Two back up singers supporting the two who were present… were missing this nite… 5. The beautiful projected stage backdrops were gone… this made the concert scenery and staging beautiful … 6. Security at the front of the stage were too strict: they would not allow the audience near the front of the stage … to allow DIANA to interact with her audience more intimately! At other venues that she played during this tour, this closeness played well .. this distance between DIANA and her fans was palpable…. and took away from the show … Despite those marked differences of other shows on this tour … she was in fine form; costumes were Bob Mackie worthy and her pitch and tone was still beautiful and full during her ‘Don’t Explain’ number from Lady Sings the Blues … I can’t wait to see her next tour, at age 80! … her presence is such good medicine for our spirits and soul !!
