About

DIANA ROSS IN CONCERT:

As Billboard's "Female Entertainer of the Century," Diana Ross holds an unrivaled place among R&B's rich history of legendary divas. From her time leading the Supremes to her extraordinary solo career, Ross's supple voice, striking looks, and effortless style have made her a timeless icon, as charismatic today as she was in the '60s. Featuring her greatest hits, Motown-inspired backup singers, and all the costume changes you'd expect from a diva's diva, Ross's 2013 shows stunned, setting expectations sky high for her 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born and raised in Detroit, Ross rose to international superstardom in the '60s as leader of the Supremes, the group that became Motown Records'  golden goose with an unprecedented ten No. 1 hits between the years 1964-1967. After fulfilling her contract with the group, Ross released her self-titled solo debut in 1970, earning her first Grammy nomination with soul classic "Ain't No Mountain High Enough." Following the success of her first solo TV special Diana!, Ross once again topped the charts with 1973's "Touch Me in the Morning," going on to release a hugely successful duet album with Marvin Gaye later that year. In addition to her chart success, Ross established herself as a skilled actor with acclaimed appearances in classic '70s films including Mahogany and The Wiz. Over a career that spans more than half a century, Ross has released 27 Top 40 singles, earning a Guinness World Record as the most successful female artist of all time.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Diana is still the beautiful diva she's always been and stuns in her many sparkling costumes, singing all of the many, many favorites that have made her loved by so many."

"Her voice was wonderful. She was so professional and knew how to work a crowd. Great selection of songs. And her costume changes were fantastic."

"Still a Diva, glamorous, elegant, classy... It was a wonderful show. The crowd in New Orleans adored her, were on their feet almost the entire time, singing along and dancing to her hits -- all well-delivered."

The Queen of Motown’s Concert seemed off ..

by JR on 2023-09-11The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

DIANA’s show at Windsor’s Caesar seemed off, on September 8, 2023 … There were some production elements and values missing this nite from previous shows on this tour, making it seem ‘bare bones’ and feel trite: 1 . The beautiful 8–10 minute film montage of her career journey, played at the beginning at other venues , to set up the concert was gone .. at other venues the ‘montage’ raised the audience expectations and excitement leading up to her ‘I’m Coming Out’ anthem … 2. The candid audience ‘live ‘ camera played and projected through out previous shows was gone or missing 3. Three brass instrument players were missing they would fill in and support the one Sax player that played this nite … 4. Two back up singers supporting the two who were present… were missing this nite… 5. The beautiful projected stage backdrops were gone… this made the concert scenery and staging beautiful … 6. Security at the front of the stage were too strict: they would not allow the audience near the front of the stage … to allow DIANA to interact with her audience more intimately! At other venues that she played during this tour, this closeness played well .. this distance between DIANA and her fans was palpable…. and took away from the show … Despite those marked differences of other shows on this tour … she was in fine form; costumes were Bob Mackie worthy and her pitch and tone was still beautiful and full during her ‘Don’t Explain’ number from Lady Sings the Blues … I can’t wait to see her next tour, at age 80! … her presence is such good medicine for our spirits and soul !!

    Worth Seeing

by Vans on 2023-09-11The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

It was very good. Diana still has her voice, showmanship. Little more stage presence towards the left of the stage as you are looking towards the stage.

Breath taking, out of this world, elegant lady.

by Dan the man on 2023-09-11The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

The sound of the band was excellent and when "Lady"Diana Ross came out it was spectacular. Her gown was gorgeous, in fact all of her gowns that she that night was drop dead beautiful. The lady still has it!!! She was truly beautiful and a very humble spirit. For a woman of 79 she sure has a lot of stamina. She is a true icon and legend that got her start in Windsor's Jackson Park and there was no stopping her from then on. We would love to see more stars of the past come back to Windsor like Diana Ross. Please, please bring them back. It was a night my wife and I will never forget.

Dinah Ross still a fabulous singer at 79….

by Oh Oh Oh Oh If you need me , call me babe on 2023-09-11The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

The venue was an excellent size for the amount of people The parking garage was full at the coliseum , we were given an option to use valet parking for $20 , or parking across the street in a lot for $10. The security area was understaffed and moved people thru very slowly. The show didn’t start on time. Dinah did four outfit changes which took away from the show waiting for her to return while the band played on endlessly Dinah still can hit those hit notes and everyone was dancing in their seats

    Bring back the memories

by D. A. on 2019-08-17Encore Theater at Wynn - Las Vegas

The experience was what we expected and more. Ms. Ross delivered a fabulous concert and a fabulous presence. A little short on presentation but at 75 we’ll give her a little leeway on that.

    Diana Ross

by Maya on 2019-07-03Sony Centre for the Performing Arts (soon to be Meridian Hall) - Toronto

This is the first time that i have seen Diana Ross in concert. I really like her with The Supremes as well as her solo music. She has always been one of my favourite singers. She has an amazing artist. I liked how she interacted with her fans by allowing them to ask her any questions that they wished. Her entrance at the concert was amazing. Also she included her grandson which was great. Her daughter Rhonda Ross opened for Diana. Rhonda has an amazing voice, just like her mother and in fact sounds like her mother.

    Prepare to stand

by insp255 on 2019-06-27Sony Centre for the Performing Arts (soon to be Meridian Hall) - Toronto

Diana Ross and her daughter before were great. Unfortunately for those having a problem standing, the show was a disaster. The Sony Centre had no control over those who chose to stand for 75% of the time and the extraordinary number of people filming and flashing all the way through. The number of reflecting screens made it difficult to see the artists. The Sony Centre had no control over crowds from the cheaper seats running to the front and standing in front of those paying the most. Never again seeing a single artist concert if this is the way it must be. I'll choose shows that I can sit through and stand for an ovation at the end if it's deserved not at the beginning and on.

Diana Ross still has it! Her voice is as good as ever; her costumes are superb! She's still gorgeous, full of energy and is a great entertainer. Her warmth is overwhelming. She relates to the audience and encourages conversation with them . Bring her back; I would see her again and again.
