The only thing wrong about this set is that it was wayy too short. He announced that he is retiring and that this was his last time playing in Toronto. I'm glad I made it out. It was my first and last show of his. I will always remember it. The crowd wasn't really feeling it.. I don't know.. everyone was just standing there not feeling the groove.
DJ Shadow did not mail it here. His Shadowsphere was brilliant. I will from now on compare other DJ shows to this one.
Loved the dub step influence and the mash ups of old favourites and new soon to be classic tracks. The bass was amazing but that goes without saying. Every time I've seen DJ Shadow it's been completely new and fresh yet with perfect throwbacks to his roots. If you were lucky enough to be at this show I may have well have said nothing but shared in an understanding nod. P.S. Nerve was awesome live improvisational drum and bass.
Great show, videos were fabulous great syncing to music good crowd
Loved the show. Have seen him with Cut Chemist a few years ago and really wanted to take in the "shadow" experience. Highly recommended!
this was our first time seeing dj shadow and he was pretty damn sweet. i like how he addressed the crowd pre-show. i've never seen a dj do that before. solid dance-able muzak and excellent visual show. the venue is awesome, but only had the floor open, would've like the upper two levels to be opened as well for sightlines. the pillars block some viewing spots on the dancefloor. All in all 4 / 5. Recomended! ; - )
The idea of the 'shadowsphere' was awesome. As were the visuals and of course the beats. The venue was just the right size.
I highly recommend this show to fans of DJ Shadow's music. I would also recommend this show to anyone who has the desire to witness the most high-tech and visually stunning stage production of 2010. I can honestly say that I have never seen anything like the Shadowsphere in my life. This is an event not to be missed! Do a Youtube search for "Shadowsphere DJ Shadow" to get a taste of what I'm talking about
Great show, he played some old stuff but there was a lot of new, on the spot stuff too. The crowd sucked - no one was dancing- but that's normal in toronto for some reason
