About

As the country music superstar behind an estimated 100 million album sales, a successful film career, and her very own theme park Dollywood, Dolly Parton is one of American music’s most enduring icons. On tour in 2013 Parton continued to captivate fans with her engaging live concerts, treating ticket buyers to career-spanning sets of her greatest hits peppered with compelling personal stories while building anticipation for the release of her 42nd studio album in 2014. Parton released her 41st studio album Better Day in 2011, a country-dance hybrid that topped charts around the world and spawned the hit single “Together You and I”. After a musical childhood in the Great Smoky Mountains, Parton headed for Nashville the day after her high school graduation, eventually achieving mainstream success in the early ‘70s with a string of No. 1 hits including “Jolene” and “I Will Always Love You”. It’s hard to overstate the scope of Parton’s accomplishments since then – from 25 No. 1 singles to the blockbuster success of films like 9 to 5 and Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, she 's become a beloved household name and recipient of numerous awards, including the prestigious Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

Dolly really was pure and simple!

by gigit on 2016-09-22Rogers Place - Edmonton

Dolly revealed a whole lot of personality and spirit throughout her performance. I can only hope I half of her vitality when I'm 70 years old. To be out on tour, which is gruelling for anybody. The pace and the drain of these performances must be enormous. But when she got on that stage and wowed the audience, you would think it was all "as easy as pie".

by MeggieB on 2016-09-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

This concert was wonderful, Dolly was telling us stories and singing her big hits while giving the background to the writing behind them. Unforgettable. Felt like you were really getting to know her.

Dolly was so funny and so much fun to watch,. the only thing missing was the big screens so that those of us in the nose bleeds could actually see her.

    Unimaginably Fantastic!

by heidimac on 2016-09-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Anyone who leaves a Dolly Parton concert disappointed must be dead! Her stories are as entertaining as her singing. She is a consummate professional and this tour at 70 years old is not only amazing, but extraordinarily well put together and with over 2 dozen songs and countless off the cuff stories you are left with a grin on your face for days. Thank you Dolly Parton!! - Very well done. I had the great fortune of attending her 1st Canadian show in Toronto and her last in Vancouver and both were equally awesome. I felt a little bad for those in the nose bleed sections who weren't close enough to see the facial expressions, but the sound more than made up for it I am sure. 24 songs...2 new ones and the rest were hits!. She played 6 instruments well and moved the entire night on 4 inch heels....WOW

    Dolly, Dolly, Dolly

by Nicnak on 2016-09-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

I'm not a big Dolly Parton fan - my wife is enough for both of us. However, even as a non-fan I have to admire her talent, her skills (vocal and otherwise), her professionalism, her achievements, her drive and her connection with her audience. When she comes back I will definitely be sitting beside my wife again.

Dolly Parton is a music icon, and she did not disappoint. Very difficult to see her with no video screen and seats at the far end. I'd suggest a smaller more intimate setting like The Vogue or The Commador.

    Hurry back, Dolly!

by cindybee on 2016-09-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Seeing Dolly was on my bucket list. She being someone who has been in the Country music scene for 50ish years, I thought that this would perhaps be her last tour. I seriously doubt it. Her voice shows no sign of fading. Her endless energy, instrument playing, and storytelling left us in awe. She was so gracious, kind and genuine with her interaction with the audience. Dolly threw in a few old standards and a few from her new album, as well as all of her hits. She said her management was working out more Canadian dates for this tour. Hurry back, Dolly, we'll be waiting!

    Impressed

by abnerjfuzzybutt on 2016-09-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

We were definitely impressed dolly is the first performer who talked to her fans and said we are now older and should sit and enjoy the show not block the view of those behind us. It made the show easier to see, also because she had no big screens to watch her on, and the lady is funny, down to earth and still puts on a great show. THANKS Dolly

    Inspiring and unforgettable!

    by skibunny1980 on 2016-09-21Rogers Place - Edmonton

She is one of the best entertainers I've ever seen. Not only can she legitimatey belt it out...like way out Celine Dion calibre, but she's every bit as sweet, funny, loveable, noble and inspiring as she's been made out to be throughout her career. I lost count as to how many instruments she can play! Truly put on earth to entertain and inspire!
