Eddie Izzard is a British comedian and actor born in Aden, Yemen. The genderfluid performer got her start in sketch comedy and street performance before launching her stand-up comedy career. Known for her rambling, stream-of-consciousness monologue style and self-referencing pantomime, Izzard won two Primetime Emmys for her 2000 special Dress to Kill. The comedian’s film and TV credits include Ocean’s Twelve (2004), Ocean’s Thirteen (2007), The Riches (2007), Valkyrie (2008), Cars 2 (2011), and The LEGO Batman Movie (2017). Izzard also earned a Tony nomination for the Broadway revival of A Day in the Death of Joe Egg. In 2024, she premiered her one-person adaptation of Hamlet, which will transfer to Chicago and London following its triple-extended run in New York City.
To connect with Eddie Izzard:
the show was great. had a lot of laughs and enjoyed his sense of humour and sound effects.
Wasn't sure what to expect. I thought we would hear about LGBTQ issues (which would have been fine) but not word. Eddie was just Eddie, a human with a sense of humour. The whole thing was kind of Monty Pythonish which seems to be a hallmark of British humour. My wife and I both loved it all. (Wish we didn't have to wear masks but that will go on forever unless the anti-taxers finally wake up or die).
This is the first time we went to see Eddie Izzard. We missed her last show. The show was brilliant. It was a non-stop continous, hilarious, clever monologue of her views on the universe, politics, royalty, religion with a history of her own early life included. There were some English-only references which Canadians couldn't understand but we did. I was in awe.
Eddie’s comedy always entertains ans surprises. He truly enjoy the changing genres his topics take. Wunderbar! Was amazing!
We laughed until we were shaking the rows of seats. It was one, big, collective experience of loving being alive as Eddie walked us through the absurdities of life as only Eddie can do.
Really enjoyed the show but sometimes it was hard to hear because the microphone was not crystal clear, it was muffled at times
The man is just down right funny! Highly recommend!
Eddie Izzard did not disappoint. He gave a high energy show for 90 minutes, took a little break and then came back and did almost another hour. His bizarre stream of consciousness approach is hilarious. He referred back to previous routines without redoing them (Star Wars Canteen for example). Awesome show. The man is something of a genius as well as he does his show internationally in several languages. Izzard for Lord Mayor in 2020!
We love you Eddie! Thank you for a non stop laugh out loud night in Vancouver. All the best for the rest of your tour x
A very funny and intelligent storyteller. The evening started with the execution of King Charles I and finished with 89/30 of a man, two moles, The Kraken, and a chicken with robotic legs heading to Mount Doom so as to destroy The Ring.
Stale forced and just mot up to standards it was hard to stay awake.
Eddie was amazing as usual. The Orpheum was a much better venue than his last visit at the Queen Elizabeth. Much more intimate.
Having been a big fan since the 90s I was very excited to see a comedian of such brilliance that he gave the world Dressed to Kill, which I regard as the best stand-up routine of all time. Eddie really let me down with a basically unstructured show that fell on its face completely. He may be the best at ad-lib but he sure didn't find his groove in Vancouver.
Wahooo...an English act in Vancouver...time for some great British humour. But instead, we were faced with a disappointing performance, with endless mumbling, and dull topics throughout. A comedy act isn't enjoyable when so much effort is required to hear and understand!
I laughed until tears fell down my cheeks. We need more Eddies in our lives!
Eddie Izzard knows how to give people the time of their lives! Awesome show!
Eddie has amazing timing and once again he gave us his version of some amusing events that shaped history! He has a unique ability to "stream" one factoid after another and then wrap it up into a salient (and amusing ) observation.
He went 2.5 hours, and then had a Q&A for another hour in the foyer. Et voila, it was the best show, not just comedian, I've seen from an artist in a long time. A real gift to fans.
Overall a hilarious night. Definitely got a lot, it was around 2 hours. If you like his humour, it's a great show.
I went in with high expectations of a great show, but found the material weak and very disjointed. I also found the acoustics to be poor. Really disappointed. On the upside for Eddie lots of people seemed to be enjoying themselves. I still count myself as a fan, but I was disappointed with the show.
