  • Can you give a 100 out of 10?

by Ljwtoronto on 2017-11-09The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Guy Garvey's voice is like budda. This is my 3rd time seeing the band and I was taken aback by the number of first timers. Where have you been? But also where are you being newly exposed to their music because it's rarely played here (kudos to Stingray). They are my favourite live band and we are so, so fortunate to be able to see them in such intimate settings when they play sold out arenas in Europe. They give me the warm fuzzies and new tunes are embraced and learned with the dedication of the "old" hits. Do yourself a favour, learn their songs in advance and join in to the best sing along on the concert circuit. Am I gushing? Yes I am. PS Danforth Music Hall GA is the best deal in the music universe.

Finally....great audio mix....great lx design...the band were superb...Guy is a true showman....great great show...I don't pay for shows as I am in the business and am backstage more than in front....this one I bought tix and it was worth it.

  • Even Better than the last time

by PeteandKris on 2017-11-09The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

This was the second time seeing Elbow at the Danforth and it was even better than the first time. These guys are so engaging, such good musicians - the set list was a great mix of new and old with standout versions of Sad Captains, New York Morning, the Birds and of course Grounds for Divorce. Come back soon.

Elbow are extremely talented. Excellent lyrics music and the perfect front man any band can hope for. Guy is amazing live you do not want to miss seeing Elbow live, if I could I'd see them again every time I get the chance.

  • Astonishing

I've been a fan for a few years now, but not before their last show in Toronto. I turned my girlfriend (now wife) onto the band and she loves them as much as I do. We've been looking forward to this show since it was announced, and it was definitely in the top 3 of concerts I've been to. And I go to a lot of concerts. All I can say is "DON'T MISS THESE GUYS". They put on a stunning show that sounds just as great as their albums, and Guy creates a fun and personal atmosphere that, when you look around the venue, it's a sea of smiles. He gets the crowd involved by getting them to sing along and by posing for photos during the show. I would have happily paid 2x the ticket price. The next time they roll through your town or a place near you, don't miss them.

Elbow put on a great show but does Guy Garvey have to insist I wave my hands around for every single song?

  • Elbow magic

by Silvery on 2014-05-21The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

This band had the entire audience in thrall - incredible sound, vocals were perfect, such a warm and intimate engagement with the crowd. Technically amazing, emotionally engaging, uplifting and haunting. If possible, better than the recordings.

  • must see live act

by wgIII on 2014-05-20The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

First time seeing Elbow live and boy was it worth the wait. What a fantastic live act. Great songwriters, talented musicians and a thoroughly engaging front man with Guy Garvey. Such a talented vocalist and he really connects with the audience. My only complaint was the stand up venue. Not as young as I used to be and a hurtin' unit by the end of the night. Well worth it though.

Just as good performing live as they are listening to their album on CD or mp3. They have fantastic chemistry with the crowd
