    Way too short

by sunshinecoast on 2018-10-23Rogers Arena - Vancouver

No one admires or loves Ellen more than me.....but she was only on stage for an hour, and for the money I spent I expected more. I understand all the corporate stuff, she was brought to us by the Vancouver Board of Trade after all, but 45 minutes of that and a music act, then an hour of Ellen was really disappointing.

Too short, too high priced show!

by Anonymous on 2018-10-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

It’s great that big companies sponsor these events but we don’t need to hear from representatives from each one. Also why would you have a band from eastern Canada open for Ellen in Vancouver? What about some local talent? And Sean Jones song choices sure didn’t get the crowd going not like tWitch from her show. We paid to see Ellen she was maybe on for 45-50 minutes, a lot of money for such a short period of time. Was a disappointment.

Not worth the time and money

    by EllenFan96 on 2018-10-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Highly disappointed with the show, not Ellen. There was a lot of time dedicated to speeches which the crowd was okay with one but it went on for an hour. As well a performance by Jones was nice, but he was not well known. Ellen was not given the chance to be herself i feel since i watch her show on TV all the time i feel like she was suppressed of her comedic talent. She was not given any alone time with the crowd and was just asked questions from one person whom i do not recall. I wish next time Ellen comes back to Vancouver if she does that she would dedicate 80% of the show about herself since that is what the fans paid for! I only got to listen to her very boring interview for about 40mins and that's it! I was really looking forward to this show but the production of it all was horrible. I hope Ellen comes back and can be more of herself by being kind to the audience and show us the real her as she is on TV.

    Ellen DeGeneres

    by Snoopy22 on 2018-10-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

I do enjoy Ellen and all her work . However this show was disappointing. The Vancouver show was too structured and did not allow Ellen to do what she does so well. She did not even dance. David Kelly talked more than Ellen. There was no opportunity for her to be herself. She is a stand up comic ?? I do not understand why it was a sit down question and answer? Maybe the sit down question and answer could have been for 30 minutes and allow her to be herself the rest of the time. Also, I was not impressed with Telus and TD bank spending all our money on what they presented. We do pay the highest rates for our telecommunications. Then there is our banks. Thank you.

More time on speeches than substance

by MusicVancouver on 2018-10-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

What a waste of time. While the time spent with Ellen on stage was ok, the music, the endless speeches amounted to a waste of time, especially for that amount of money.

    Dissapointing

    by Kona2010 on 2018-10-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

After sitting in rush hour traffic to get to Ellen on time, paying $30 for parking and over $200 on nosebleed tickets, I could not be more dissapointed in Ellen. We were greeted with an "opening act" by three "sponsors" Telus, TD bank and Vancouver Board of Trade, complete with infomercials; no where on my ticket were these guys mentioned. And a singing act by some random guy. At 8 PM Ellen came out and calmly sat in her chair....no dancing as everyone expected. She sat and was interviewed for just under an hour about her life. Nothing even remotely funny. I understand this wasn't a stand up comedy type show, but I truly did expect it to be somewhat funny and high energy. Nope. Not even close. Sorry Ellen, you've lost a fan here. For someone who is supposed to be kind, you've royally ripped alot of people off.

    Not what was expected

by Anonymous on 2018-10-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Firstly, we do not have/want to hear the business partners and bankers that sponsored the show. We have already paid our money to see Ellen. That is our support. I'm pretty sure most of the audience knows her background. More humour in the telling of the tale would have helped the show. It was too short.

Disappointed in the Ellen Show in Vancouver

by Ohgeewhiz on 2018-10-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

I was very pleased how easy it was to purchase my tickets on line and then arrive at the show and to my seat with no hiccups. The one hour preamble and entertainment before Ellen appeared was fine. Then when Ellen was finally introduced I was saddened that she stayed seated the whole time and only faced the moderator as a one on one talk. ( She didn't face the audience). So all I got to see was her side and back view! All the questions the moderator asked of her were things she has already discussed numerous times with much more well versed entertainment people like Oprah - on Master Class - this moderator was a long way from being that!! I was very disappointed that Ellen did not engage the audience and that it wasn't more like her TV show where she actually entertains us by interviewing someone NOT the reverse. I did not find this show very entertaining!! I was also disappointed that she only stayed on stage for 1 hour - and like I paid $475.00 for that!!!! - to hear her being interviewed by an amateur ??

    Meh at best

    by JEB39 on 2018-10-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Realizing this was an interview type format of a show...the moderator did not ask questions that were entertaining and also what an Ellen fan wouldn't know (and nobody seemed to know who he was). the sponsors were given way too much time to promote themselves, and I won't consider a future event sponsored by the Board of trade as I've heard that's why the tix were so expensive. Ellen was on a total of 65 minutes, and her energy was "low" so I don't think she really wanted to be there but couldn't resist the paycheque. the event started at 7pm, Ellen finally made it on at 7:50pm and was off stage at 8:55pm. Really glad I didn't spend $800 on tix for this event.

Honestly couldn't wait to see her, spent a lot of for tixs. Parking eating DRINKING for what...... She finally comes on 740pm. And talks with some guy and keeped on telling the audience in can't say to much about that. It's on my Netflix special...You are serious l paid for that....Never again. She only talked for a hour........so very disappointed......I WANT MY MONEY BACK.......

    Very engaging but....

by Ligd on 2018-10-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Ellen was very engaging, thoughtful, open, and entertaining. However, the time spent with Ellen was much too short. Less than an hour. There was far too much time spent allowing the corporate sponsors to get in their promotional moment and this really dragged down the whole evening. I would have also liked to hear more thought provoking questions by the host Dave Kelly. The whole event could have been much better.

by dianerae on 2018-10-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

This was less entertaining than the tv show , an opening act for what ? To get all revved up for an interview We all know how great she is, that's why we went . Would have been nice for her to talk to us , and do some comedy.

    Good event, but short

by LeslieCarp on 2018-10-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

$300 tickets for 60 mins of Ellen seems pricey to me. Lots of chatting from the sponsors, a warm up band then a video of Ellen’s history but only 60 mins of Ellen. She is wonderful so I would want to hear more for this kinda money.

    Ellen

    by sadie1 on 2018-10-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

I wish Ellen did more of her own talking...other then someone asking her questions and then her replying. Could of been an extra 30 minutes longer with Ellen on stage.

    It was okay.

    by Zg25 on 2018-10-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

I really do like Ellen, but sadly this event was not as good as I thought it was going to be. I do understand that this is was questions and answers, but I found there was a lot of promotional material and random people talking whom I did over 120 to see. I wish Ellen brought more comedy into the show, I felt like I was simply watching an interview on tv. The reason the seats rating was poor was because we had a very obnoxious man behind us, who was screaming and spilled beverages on us. I do understand there are many different kinda of people who come to concerts but it is unfortunate this happened. Sadly I would not see this again.
