    DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY

by ABBYRESIDENT on 2018-10-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

This was a Q&A, but not an audience Q&A, a moderated Q&A and the questions were all things EVERYONE already knew. Anyone willing to dish out the obscene amount per ticket is already a pretty big fan, and as such knows a lot about Ellen and has seen most if not all of her shows. for the less than 1 hour she was on for, we watched clips from her show (the most viral ones) talked about her foundation (we all know all about that already) and plugged her new Netflix special. Before she was on, I felt as though we had to sit through commercials from all the people coming up to tell everyone how awesome they were and all the good things they have done for the city. it was like trailers before a movie, no one was impressed. After the show I talked to a lot of people and ALL OF THEM said the same thing...EXTREMLY DISAPOINTED and a complete waste of our hard earned money. if there was an option to give it zero stars, I would have. I should also mention that my wife and myself are HUGE Ellen fans and were really looking forward to this show.

    Boring Interview with Ellen

by Terp on 2018-10-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

This was not interesting. It was a very expensive ticket. We didn’t laugh once and Ellen was on stage for only 45 minutes. There were speakers from Telus, TD Bank and a real estate agent then followed by an interview of Ellen. Where all questions asked were common knowledge if you know anything about Ellen.

It was awesome to finally see her live. Disappointed it was only an hour long and she had no merchandise for sale.

    A Conversation With Ellen DeGeneres

by FenB on 2018-10-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

I love Ellen and everything she stands for. I was disappointed overall with the show. I was not expecting to sit through 1/2 hour presentations from the sponsor and didn't realize there was a preshow concert with Sean James. I was further disappointed when Ellen was only on stage for 1 hour. Not great value for the $240 I spent on my ticket!

only good thing was being in the same room as Ellen. The interviewer asked vague questions and the corporate speeches at the start went on for way to long. The interview itself was short and Ellen couldn’t get out of there fast enough once the final question was asked. For the cost of tickets we were thoroughly disappointed.

    62 minutes on stage?

by Whistlerdewd on 2018-10-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

I am a HUGE Ellen fan, and the opportunity to see her live was one I have been trying for many years now. Tickets were NOT cheap, in fact, very expensive for most people. No band, no light show, no dancers, no 50 semi trucks parked outside, but tickets were just as expensive as P!NK or Justin Timberlake ! Then speakers from VBOT and TD said the sponsors made this happen or else tickets prices would have been astronomical ! I get she is not cheap, but really barely an hour on stage!! speeches were almost as long. Ellen was funny and great to see, but the show was FAR TOO SHORT and TOO EXPENSIVE!

    Total disappointment

by richmondmom on 2018-10-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

1 hour (if that) of Q&A of topics that any Ellen fan would have already known. No interaction with the audience, she couldn't get up and leave fast enough. Many of us were shocked when an hour went by and she was done! The ticket said 7 - 10pm, there was 50 mins of an opening act plus the 3 sponsors coming out and marketing their company, then about 55 mins of Ellen Q&A. The lights came on at 8.52pm and I know this because I had to check twice as I was in disbelief. Thank goodness I bought the cheapest tickets, I feel bad for those that flew in from out of town or bought expensive seats, when I feel ripped off having driven only 20 mins and paying for parking to see this!

    Very disappointed

by Sopranosil on 2018-10-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

This show was extremely disappointing and not worth the money spent. Show was just over an hour and everything discussed was exactly what she talks/shows on her talk show. There was no real interaction with the crowd either. Also, the beginning was Telus and the other sponsors puffing up their chests by showing how great they are. I didn't pay to see that. Why was there an opening act? Some guy who we had never heard of doing songs no one knew. The consensus around us was the same and everyone leaving the venue was saying the same thing. For the money she makes and what we paid to go see her, it was extremely disappointing.

Conversation with Ellen - far too short

by DeDeEvans on 2018-10-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

We had SO looked forward to seeing our favorite lady on stage. However, first we had to get through an opening act (someone they'd not advertised and we personally had not heard of before) - he was good but we didn't pay $175 to listen to him. We thought after that we'd have at least a couple of hours of Ellen. Nope. Moderated (likely pre-written) questions - giving us NO NEW information or insight into Ellen that we hadn't already had from being avid fans of her talk show....and for maybe an hour. MAYBE. So $175 tickets (and while these weren't the "cheap" seats there were at least a couple of seat prices higher than that, so can only imagine what the $350 ticket holders thought) divided by maybe 60 minutes? Nope, not worth it, as much as we love our Ellen. Would not do it again and don't recommend it. Ticket costs on top of travel expenses, hotel expenses, meals, taxis, etc. Just stay home and watch her on TV - you'll get far more bang for your buck!

A Conversation With Ellen - way too short!

by KristaP on 2018-10-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

After sitting through an hour of fluff, we were finally able to see Ellen, at which point it was fantastic. She’s amazing, and the moderator was very good. But she was on stage for less than an hour. Very disappointed, as was everyone one around us. We were all asking, “Is that really it? It’s over?”

    Ellen has more to offer!

by Kepi on 2018-10-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Ellen lacked her usual energy. She almost seemed nervous. She responded to some questions with one word answers and it was SHORT! I didn’t learn anything new about Ellen. No interesting stories, tidbits or wisdom. I also didn’t need to hear from each sponsor individually. Those could have been flashed across the screen at the start of the show.

    Conversation with Ellen

    by Louie44 on 2018-10-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

It was great to be in the same room as this icon my only disappointment was I wish it was for longer. For the price you pay it would have been good to keep the conversation going for at least a total of 1.5 hours instead of less than an hour. But regardless of how short the time was I loved every minute of Ellen. How often does one ever get a chance like this? I was disappointed in the opening "act" I did not find it entertaining at all - a better choice would have been a couple of LOCAL stand up comedians to do 15 minutes each to "warm" us up for Ellen. That would have made so much more sense.

Disappointing - A Conversation with Ellen

by Taitj on 2018-10-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Not enough Ellen. I don't think she was even on for 1 hour. I'm wondering if she even wanted to be there. Too much sponsor after sponsor patting themselves on the back for being great. Didn't know the singer or the interviewer. Very disappointing.

    Ellen-disappointing

by DanceQ on 2018-10-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

I really like Ellens tv show and much of what she does but investing in this show was a so not worth it. Nothing new was shared...I have heard it all before and saw repeats of tv clips. She didnt provide entertainment and was on stage for less than an hour.

    Missing something.

by HannahSquamish on 2018-10-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

I wasn't expecting stand-up, but was pretty shocked that for the price my friends paid for my ticket (it was a birthday gift), that we got 1 hour of the sponsors giving us speeches followed by a 50 minute conversation with Ellen and the host. If you watch her daytime show, you would have learnt nothing more from the event. It seemed like Ellen wasn't comfortable or just didn't want to be there... I'm not sure, but we were done, lights up and walking out the stadium by 8.50 pm. I have no regrets going as it was awesome to be in the same building as Ellen, but regardless, we were disappointed and walked out feeling confused.

    Ellen is love

by JMFZ on 2018-10-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Over all, the evening was terrific. Going in I think I expected more of the Ellen SHOW. But came to appreciate the deeper more meaningful message of “be you true self and be happy” The MANY speakers leading up to Elle became tiring. And it would’ve been nice to have a female welcome her on to the show or a representative from the LGBT community. The musical act, Sean Jones was ok, but I would have been happier with a female, or none at all. ... and finally, I would’ve really liked for Ellen to open up with a little snippet of her own humor, a wee opening ELLEN monologue would’ve been greatly appreciated.

Love love love Ellen but was disappointed in this event! She wasn’t in very long ( 50 mins). Wish she interacted more with crowd and spoke to us would have loved if she did a little bit of stand up.

    What a disappointing experience!

by Sabah on 2018-10-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

I was soooo disappointed with this show. Ellen was only on stage for around 40 minutes. There Were representatives from TD and a couple other organizations advertising and taking show time while people had paid money to see Ellen. The interviewer was awful, questions chosen were not great. Overall very very disappointing.

    Disappointed

    by Nico11 on 2018-10-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

This evening was not worth the money spent! It ended an hour and 10 mins before what was stated on the tickets. I brought 4 tickets! I feel I should get a partial refund!
