ERASURE IN CONCERT:
Nearly three decades after their debut, British synthpop duo Erasure continue to reign supreme on dance floors around the world. Combining the production skills of Vince Clark and the soaring vocals of Andy Bell, Erasure dominated European airwaves in the '80s and '90s with a massive string of hits that sound as fresh today as they did 25 years ago. Bell is a legendary live performer, maintaining an infectious energy and positivity as he lends his perfectly-preserved pipes to the love-drunk swoon of "Oh L'amour" and the uplifting message of "Chains of Love". The duo's unforgettable live shows never fail to spark impassioned dance parties among nostalgic fans, and their upcoming dates on the Violet Flame 2014 World Tour will be no different.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Erasure was formed in mid-'80s London by former Depeche Mode member Vince Clark and budding singer Andy Bell. Their 1985 debut album Wonderland failed to make much of an impact in Britain, but they hit the big time with their 1987 sophomore album The Circus, which remained on the UK Albums Chart for more than a year on the strength of hit singles "Sometimes" and "Victim of Love". The following year they achieved breakthrough success in America with the Top 20 hits "Chains of Love" and "A Little Respect", both from their third album The Innocents. That album was the first of five consecutive UK No. 1 records for the duo, a streak that culminated with 1994's I Say I Say I Say. With their 16th studio album The Violet Flame hitting shelves in 2014, Erasure will treat fans to a series of electrifying shows in support of the release.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"Andy Bell is one hell of a performer and had a lot of energy to bring their songs to life...I remember looking around and seeing my fellow concertgoers smiling from ear-to-ear and having an amazing sing-along experience. Definitely money well spent."
"Andy and Vince were awesome. The new songs are great and it was a blast hearing the old songs once again."
"Simply amazing! Erasure kept the crowd happy and dancing throughout the whole show."
Great setlist! Sounded fantastic! Fun crowd! Danced the whole night!
Entire venue on its feet, dancing and singing along. Perfect!
The songs sounded pretty much like the originals you heard on the radio, which was great but I would also like to see some reinterpretation remix mashup, maybe?
Tons of good old 80s dancing and singing fun. His costume stole the show.
This was honestly the best concert I have ever been to! They haven't lost their mojo! Was a the best of the 80's!
I have not seen this group live for over 20 years (the last place was at Canada's Wonderland) and they still provide as much entertainment as they did back then!! Thank you so much guys for coming back to Canada we love you!!!!
We love Erasure no matter what. So many great songs. Wish the venue was bigger so more people can enjoy it.
What a perfect concert! A little over 90 minutes, with a perfect blend of new and old. Andy Bell sounded AMAZING and had great chemistry with the audience and the back up singers. Great venue too - so glad we went!
Was an amazing show. Had an amazing time. Hopefully they return to Canada soon!
2nd time seeing them in concert. They continue to bring the audience to their feet. Loved it!
Show was excellent. Boys still have it. Brought back amazing memories. Still humming oh l"amour two days later.
30+ years later and they can still bring it onstage. Andy’s voice still remains as strong as ever.
The old boy can still belt it out! Great banter with the crowd.
Great show just an amazing night of memories and just a lot of fun
The opening group was horrible...but when Erasure came on the whole show changed...Erasure was great
Erasure put on an amazing NYE show! I traveled from Toronto to go see them. The performance was flawless and venue was perfect! I would see them again in a heartbeat!!!!
As a long time fan of Erasure, I had been waiting 20 years to see them in concert. They did not disappoint! They played a good combination of new songs and their hits. Andy Bell engaged the crowd and kept us dancing the whole time. Next time I will get tickets for the floor instead of up in the seats. If you enjoy the music of Erasure, I highly recommend going to see them in concert!
Have been attending a lot of 80's concerts in recent years and the Danforth Music Hall is the place to watch them. The crowd was great and was bouncing all night.I knew Erasure would be good and that is what I told my wife. But the show was great.Andy and Vince were humble in their thank yous but you could tell they loved the crowd!
I love that they blended a few of their new songs with the standards everyone comes to expect.
danced my ass off -- wailed my lungs out -- expected no less -- what an awesome experience! Way to go fellas!!
