Eric Burdon is awesome! He took the songs we all know so well and made them new again! And he's funny! The rest of the band was incredible as well. Mr. Burdon stepped back to give everyone their 'turn' in the spotlight and each one of them showed us how much they had to offer!

    Even Better!

by stoogeguy on 2011-03-10Casino Rama - Orillia

The show was awesome, I think better than last year. They did a couple of songs that they didn't do last time. Eric Burdens voice, though lower, sounds more powerful, very well suited to the bluesy style of some of the non-hits. Greatness from the past.

Talk about Retro and upscale...They were Unreal brought me back to the 60's & 70's Eric hasn't lost his touch...and his present ensemble...... Red Young....Brannen Temple... Terry Wilson & Billy Watts were all amazing...Red has to be one of the better or best Keyboardists that I have seen..with the good ole Hammond B3..Keep Up the Ear Candy!!!

    Eric great as always

    by Ziggy2011 on 2011-03-08Casino Rama - Orillia

Eric is the greatest or at least one of the greatest blues singers since the day one of The Animals. The older He is, the better He is. I remember His 60th Birthday in L.A, we (my wife and myself) had attended to. It was a BIG, two days long GIG. The performance at Casino Rama was different. Not the same Band, not the same, and the same Eric. Eric is still GREAT. His today's band is great. They are playing a lots of music, a very good music. It was worth to go there in the rain and in the snow. It was worth to go back home 3 hours in the very heavy snow. It was almost the same last time Eric was in Casino. Snow, heavy snow. Hey Eric, we do have Summer here! Please come next time in June.

    Embarrasing & Sad

by timeless on 2011-03-07Casino Rama - Orillia

I expected the years to have taken their toll on Eric Burdon. My sister and I were feeling very nostalgic but fondly encouraging, clapping, cheering and full of enthusiasm. By the end of the second song, we were desperately hoping it would get better. It did not. He had absolutely no energy, little concentration - in fact the main charctaristic of his performance was disinterest. He had a music stand on stage that he kept referring to, presumably for the words. Even so, the words he uttered (I can't even say sang) were often different from his recordings. He seemed almost incoherent at times. He handed half the stage time over to his guitarist and keyboard player, who fortunately, were good. The keyboard player especially was the only one who brought the show to life. When we heard the notes leading into "House of the Rising Sun", we thought we were finally going to be treated to a classic we could identify with. NOT! It was dreadful. Again with mixed up lyrics, it was lamentable, garbled, jumbled, off key...it was painful to watch. . For the first time in my life, I walked out on a performance. He's done, washed up, and has no business expecting fans to pay to see this self-centered, shameful exploitation of his former self.

    more than expected

    by freedom58 on 2011-03-07Casino Rama - Orillia

Eric Burdon and the Animals was more entertaining than I expected. I thought that the key board player absolutely made the show next to Eric's singing himself. Very good show, would go again.

    Pure Burdon

by davetheraveratae on 2011-03-07Casino Rama - Orillia

Having seen the Animals in 1964 and believing they were first class, now I believe that the backing group for Eric Burdon is better than first class. Eric's voice is as souful as ever and the years have not affected the quality of his singing. Worth the long wait and the 2 hour journey to Rama & the 3 1/2 hour journey home in a snow storm. Thank you for visiting us again - here's to the next time (perhaps in the summertime?) Awa' the lads!

    Excellent show

by cjCraig on 2011-03-07Casino Rama - Orillia

A truly excellent show put on by a a great band. Eric Burdon has mellowed with age but his performance is top notch. The band instrumental solos were great. The only flaw for me was that some of the hits were not as true musically to the original recordings as I would have liked but I guess times change. A bit to updated for my tastes but still well worth it. I will go again if they return.

Eric and his band mates put on an amazing show. Wow the instrumentalists are so talented!! The only thing we would have liked was for the "classics"..like "House of the Rising Sun" to have been played as they originally were. I would definitely go and see them again:):)

    Eric Burdon and the Animals

by karforr on 2011-03-07Casino Rama - Orillia

I bought these tickets for a Christmas gift for my husband as he is the fan. I can't tell you how much l enjoyed the concert. It was fantastic!! Sometimes when the band is of the older age you never know what you are getting. Eric still has a great voice and has not lost his range at all. If you ever get the chance to go, buy the tickets. You will be pleasantly surprised like l was......By the way my husband loved it as well.

    Eric Burdon still rocks!

by jojoshinto on 2011-03-07Casino Rama - Orillia

For 70 years old... Eric still rocks...his voice needed a little warming up, bu by the 3rd song he was fully in stride... such a powerful voice and stage presence.. The "Animals" were all highly skilled musicians in their own right...the keyboard player was amazing...he carried many songs with the psychedelic melody from the mid to late 60's...

    Tight Band, Song Set Disappointing

by Clarkee on 2011-03-07Casino Rama - Orillia

Venu was not the greatest, surprised to see a large number of people leave before the show was over. Missed not hearing songs like Montery, See See Rider.
