    Leonard was fantastic.

by gillywilly on 2009-07-12Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

This is the first time I have seen him llive. I have liked a couple of his tunes in the past. My husband had seen him back in the 70's and really wanted to see him again. I was very pleasantly impressed with the show he put on. His back up singers were phenominal on their own merit.. I also appreciated that the whole concert time frame was only him and his group. His three encores where a nice surprise as well.

    Leonard Cohen is a LEGEND!!!

    by jaimes23 on 2009-07-12Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

My father and I went to the show, he has been a lifelong fan and has never been able to see a live show. We were both mesmerized the entire time. Leonard Cohen is the greatest storyteller and lyricist of our time. If there was one thing that stuck with me after his lengthy and amazing performance it is how humble he is as a musician. He clearly respected and enjoyed the talents of his ensemble. Overall it was definetly one of the best shows i have seen all year!! Hell its top five of my life and that is alot of shows. Leonard Cohen is a Legend and I am eternally greatful that i and my father could experience his show together :)

Leonard Cohen - Just THE best!

by jkeccles on 2009-07-12Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

For a man who is now in his mid-70's, his performance was absolutely amazing. Backed up by awesome musicians and vocalists Leonard gave a 3 hour performance that was worth every penny of the ticket price. Bravo and long may you continue to perform.

    A Canadian icon

by chetski on 2009-07-12Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

The live concert, more so than CD, brought out the personality, poetry and music of this true Canadian icon with world wide appeal. Amazing individual talent from everyone accompanying him. Powerful arrangements. Every syllable of the poetry audible, enhancing reflection and enjoyment. Five encores from an artist in his 70's! The man makes all of us reflect on the full range of emotions we call the human experience.

Leonard Cohen still at the top

by JJCA on 2009-07-12Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

I got the tickets more for may partner than me but the second Cohen started I remembered how much I appreciate his work. I won't go on about his poetry - if you are not already familiar with that and with its beauty/humor/poignancy/cynicism then you likely don't even know who Cohen is. What I will say is that he exudes a grandfatherly charm that makes you want to take him home.....but not leave him alone with the women in your life. He was generous in his encores and not so professional and polished as to almost exclude the audience. It was a fabulous show.

    Leonard Cohen

by Bieke on 2009-07-12Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

Mr Cohen, you are the master of poetry and song! I have long admired you, as long ago as my years growing up in Belgium. You are tremendously loved there. Now I finally got to see you perform in person. Even in a place as big as Copps Coloseum you were able to convey the intimacy of your songs. I wish you many more years.

Leonard generous and in excellent voice

by Blynne on 2009-07-12Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

Having missed Leonard Cohen on his last round of tours, about 15 years ago, I made every effort to get tickets this time. I'm so glad I did. It was one of the best concerts we've seen. He exhibited so much love and generosity in his performance, that we felt honoured to be there. Copps Coliseum felt unexpectedly intimate, due to both Leonard's manner and the excellent lighting and sound. Over the two and and a half hours, Leonard, his talented musicians and backup singers made us fall in love with his music all over again.

by aischi on 2009-07-12Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

The best live performance I have ever been too, even if you are not a real fan, you will be one afterwards. A must see....what an honour to see a legend in concert. WOW! It will be unforgettable.

Leonard Cohen is a national treasure!!!!!

by MizzD on 2009-07-12Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

Never in my life have I went to a 3 hours show that went on for 4 encores. And to think this man is 75 years old. He puts musicians 1/3 of his age to shame. Amazing show, amazing man. I would see him again, anytime.

Best night of music I've ever experienced!

by Soucis on 2009-07-12Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

Charming, elegant, full of grace and yet sensual and at times, raw. I can think of no other artist who could give such a gift to an audience as this show was (with the possible exception of Bruce Springsteen, who I have never seen perform live and who cannot compete with Mr. Cohen in the realm of words). It was three hours of incredible songs, by an unequalled Canadian poet, backed by the finest of musicians and vocal performers - something I will always treasure having been a part of. Leonard Cohen is living proof that age is irrelevant to art and that some people truly are ageless. I'm sure Mr. Cohen could feel the deep appreciation of his audience and can only hope that this will inspire him to tour again. Do not miss an opportunity to see him if he does, you will be awed.

Leonard Cohen broke my mothers heart

by jemm on 2009-07-12Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

This was an amazing show. I took my mother for her birthday and she was especially moved. As an avid Cohen fan, I caught her tearing up throughout the show. I could not have experienced a more intimate environment anywhere else!

    Fabulous Leonard Cohen

by Suestep on 2009-07-12Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

This was one of the best concerts that I have attended in years. Leonard's voice has deepened with age and all of his musicians and back up singers are first class. The overall feeling of the concert was one of dignity and respect for all including the audience.

    Cohen was utterly mesmerizing

by SkipperBill on 2009-07-12National Arts Centre - Ottawa

My friend and I first saw Cohen in this current tour in Moncton in 2008; this concert in Ottawa was even better than that, though the venue was much bigger. Cohen simply mesmerizes his audience. Throughout the concert he constantly and with considerable humility paid tribute to each member of his band, and to his audience. We were completely blown away by his style, the arrangements, and the gentleness that he exuded continously. And despite the fact that the six or seven encores were carefully orchestrated to end with the song "The show is over", and raising the lights of the house he never lost touch with his audience, and convinced us that he really would like to have stayed longer.
