  • Great show

by Marnie on 2024-08-20The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Iron and Wine put on a great show. I really loved the screen show behind the band - the two ladies doing the behind the scenes work kept things interesting on stage. The musicians were great - I heard a few of the songs I wanted to hear and also got hooked on the new stuff. My big complaint was that we had to stand a long time before the band came out. We were standing for about 2-1/2 hours by the time they came out so our legs and backs were aching. If we had known there was an opening act that didn’t come on until 8:00, we would have sat in a restaurant or bar before coming in to see the headline band.

  • Brilliant Performance!

by Codrina I on 2024-08-20The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Iron and Wine put on an incredible show at the Danforth Music Hall. I am so grateful to have had the chance to see one of my favourite artists live! Every attention to detail was perfect - from the supporting artists, to the shadow puppetry background throughout the show. Sam is a brilliant musician, and I really appreciate how humble, down to earth, and talented he is. I walked away from this show feeling very happy and satisfied! Can't wait to see them perform again the next time they are in Toronto, and to see more of my favourite songs played live.

  • Started and ended strong

    by Awe&Thensome on 2024-08-19MTELUS - MontrealRating: 3 out of 5

Felt like an alternate Sam, Post-Shepherd’s Dog, tossing off his brilliant lyrics like bullets till half-time. The choice of so many from TSD seemed to confirm it. This was my fourth IW concert and the strong start with a reimagined On Your Wings got me excited. Then I lost it in the mush. Great arrangements in the vocals got swallowed by the synth. After the solo pieces, Sam seemed to reconnect and thankfully everything flowed from there. He was back to communicating, not just performing.

  • Awesome

Love iron and wine and this was magical. The only negative was the venue didnt have enough seating and standing for 3 hours is a bit rough.

Iron and wine never disappoints. Their live visuals and sound are so cool and I really enjoyed it as I always enjoy their live performance when they come to Montreal. Thank you iron and wine for coming to Montreal and I hope to see your soon.

  • A must see for fans

by JezandLila on 2013-10-03Odeon Events Centre - SaskatoonRating: 4 out of 5

I would go to see him anytime, with or without a band. This show was mostly about Ghost on Ghost and I loved watching the 12 piece band put this on. I am enjoying the CD at a higher level than before. The venue was not a good fit. Sound, seating and viewing were sub-par for a performance of this type but tickets were only $30.00.

  • The Perfect Crescendo!

    by Paul123 on 2013-09-29Pantages Playhouse Theatre - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

I caught Iron and Wine at a folk festival where he was the only person on stage and was blown away. This time however he was joined by a full band complete with backup singers, strings, and brass instruments. It was interesting to see how such a powerful and subtle solo artist could work so well with a fuller sound. As the night went on slowly the band members left the stage and it was just him and the crowd. He was candid with us and took song suggestions and was just perfectly charming. Eventually his bandmates joined him on stage and they went out with a bang.

The venue was terrible but the music was amazing. The should have been at the Broadway Theatre!
