    good show

by larius on 2015-10-03Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

a chance to see other dance companies that may not appear in Toronto. While I was not a fan of everything I saw, several stood out including Ballet BC and Dance Brazil, both performances outstanding.. and the price was right!

    Fabulous show...even more fabulous value!

by ShirleyZ on 2015-10-03Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

I am thrilled that I was able to take in such a superb show at a cost that everyone can afford. The performances were outstanding, and a wonderful cross section of current ballet trends.

Amazing evening of dance! Minus 16 was incredible.

by Blynne on 2015-10-02Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

We were thrilled from the very beginning, by the National Ballet's duet, No. 24 and Toronto Dance Theatre's Vena Cava, but by the end of the evening, when Atlanta Ballet performed Ohad Naharin's Minus 16, it felt like the audience's collective enthusiasm and joy would blow the roof off the Sony Centre. It was a spectacular, fun and heart-touching evening of dance, all of it: ballet, contemporary, hoop-dancing, Indian classical dance.

    great show, amazing value

by mirac on 2015-10-02Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

This show was amazing value for the money. The mix of dance styles worked out really nice. In addition to great experience, I also got informed, inspired and motivated to see more shows this season.

Fall for Dance North was amazing!

What an incredible evening. Loved the variety, the music, the dancers, the costumes and the choreography. My only complaint was that it was over too soon.

I enjoyed the show so much (Program 1) that immediately after the show we bought tickets for the next day to see Program 2! Thoroughly enjoyed myself.. The dance and music was compelling and took you along a journey.. Perfect night...

    Dance is Universal

by Tweetheart on 2015-10-02Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

So glad I attended the dance talk before the performance. It enhances your understanding of the individual pieces being presented. Having some background of the different dance companies is so informative. Anything up close 'n personal is always a bonus! Each dance performance was so diverse and top notch. What an enjoyable evening.

Fall for Dance North Program 1 was Number 1

by Saffronite on 2015-10-02Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

The whole selection of performances were superb. From the opening graceful duo, to the visually stunning end, it was a powerhouse of dance. The humour and physicality from the Alvin Ailey Company's solo dancer of "Takademe" with those long graceful arms in movement with the hands creating a visual echo, along with the soundtrack of Sheila Chandra's "Speaking in Tongues" took my breath away. And the finale, "Minus 16" choreographed by Ohad Naharin was visually stunning and full of humour. The chain reaction of the dancers in chairs with flashes of bright white shirts set to the pulsating beat gets one big WOW from me.

    Start of an amazing event!

by Bronbird on 2015-10-02Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

We will definitely attend this event next year! The variety of dance styles presented were fantastic and they were all at a first class level. Considering they were hosting Fall for Dance North for the first time, the evening flowed smoothly. The modern dance had people on the edge of their seats - literally. The value for money is absurd. You can't by lunch for the price of a ticket to world class dance!

    Fall for Dance North

by clairsedore on 2015-10-02Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Tuesday September 29/15 - Fall for Dance - Sony Centre - we have just witnessed the greatest dance programme ever....when the Alvin Ailey company isn't in the top 5, something is wrong. The Ailey company wants to watch out for the sensational Atlanta Ballet, whose Minus 16 choreographed by Ohad Naharin, is one of the greatest dance shows ever, worth a trip to Atlanta. Unfortunately the opening night programme is not being repeated, instead we get two evenings of Program 2. Also in the top group was Toronto Dance Theatre's great Vena Cava, choreographed by Christopher House, the National Ballet's 24, and Vibhakta, by the Nrityagram Dance Ensemble. The Sony resounded with an appreciative audience the likes of whom I have never seen or heard there before.

by christchuch on 2015-10-02Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

For $10, I can see why Sonycentre was packed! I got to see some dance companies that I rarely get to see. Atlanta Ballet company was awesome! They brought the house down.
