  • Fiddler was excellent

I took my daughter and her friend - their first introduction to Fidder! Everyone enjoyed it! It is a great musical to introduce young adults as it has music, comedy - something for everyone!

  • Fiddler played to my heart's tunes

by Ashtarout on 2010-11-28National Arts Centre - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

It was such a rich experience, both music and cast, elevated our spirits with their performance. Standing ovation for " Tevye", he was outstanding. Very natural in his embodiement of the character, torn between the "tradition", which was the "fiddler on the roof" and his adaptation, by reason, for a more logical approach to life. Thank you. Simply amazing.

  • It was Unforgettable, indeed

    by Thomas456 on 2010-11-27National Arts Centre - OttawaRating: 2 out of 5

Squeaky music from the pit accompanying a B+ highschool prodcution. Lead actor was superb. Question is, why does he put up with his support? The ghost, Fruma Sarah, was probably the village ear piercer. Couldn't understand what she was shrieking. Fiddler (the actor, not the play), was excellent. He should have appeared on the stage for the final bows either on a rooftop behind the group or fiddling besideTevye. Regards Tom

  • Fiddler on the Roof was INCREDIBLE!!!

by shortyju on 2010-11-26National Arts Centre - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

John Preece was amazing as Tevye. I believe him to be Tevye or at least the most perfect person to play Tevye. The rest of the cast was great to watch. They were clear and eloquent. The songs were wonderful and wonderfully sung. All in all, I have been waiting a while to see this play and adored every minute!

  • Fiddler - fun for the whole family!

by GetTheNAC on 2010-11-26National Arts Centre - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

Prepare 2 cups of NAC, stir in a diverse audience ranging from 5 to 95, and then slowly fold in tremendous stage talent and a well-seasoned orchestra pit. Allow to sit for 3 hours so the ingredients can magically combine. The result: A fabulous night of entertainment that the entire family can enjoy. Thank you to the cast, crew, producers and musicians for bringing this event to Ottawa. Poignant, fun, moving, sad, uplifting, joyous... The Fiddler on the Roof is a MUST SEE!

by Breakfast on 2010-11-25National Arts Centre - OttawaRating: 3 out of 5

At the very beginning of the show, the audience seem to enjoy the show very much since there was some humour. However, after a while, it was too much! Enough is enough!!
