About

Flogging Molly are the Celtic-punk pioneers known for frolicking barroom anthems like “Drunken Lullabies” and “Devil’s Dance Floor.” Though singer Dave King is Irish, the band made their name in the ’90s as the bar band at Molly Malone's (an Irish pub based in Los Angeles). Their breakthrough arrived in 2002 with the album Drunken Lullabies, when the title track “Drunken Lullabies” was featured in the popular video game Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4. Flogging Molly exported their raucous live show to the Vans Warped Tour between 2000 and 2009, where they became fan favorites. Touring worldwide, Flogging Molly would cement their reputation as one of the rowdiest and most passionate live bands in the world. Popular albums like Swagger (2000) and Float (2008), often defying categorization, have propelled them to sell over a million albums worldwide.

    Amazing To See Live

by dubhouse on 2012-05-12Sound Academy - Toronto

I've been seeing Flogging Molly in concert for seven years and they never let me down. They are by far one of my favorite bands to see live. Have a few drinks, and have a grand old time with friends. They're always energetic and a good old fashioned Irish time. They're a little taste of Ireland.

A great show to promote a great new album. Flogging Molly delivers a Powerful and exuberant performance, showcasing a great selection of tracks off the new album (The Speed of Darkness) while also playing quite a few well loved songs. Hearing "Black Friday Rule" live for the first time a while was definitely a highlight of the night! A band I will see upon every chance I'm given!

    Flogging Molly

by Snooze on 2009-11-10Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

Flogging Molly is a band not to be matched. Never before have I experienced an energy level so high that could be maintained though the whole show. It was exciting, the music was unforgettable, the mosh pit was vicious, and everyone had fun. I fully recommend Flogging Molly for everyone to see!

    awesome show by Flogging Molly

by johnnycerveza on 2009-10-31Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

Maybe the fourth time I've seen Flogging Molly and once again I was not dissapointed. The energy was high as it was their last show of the Canadian tour and the last show of the year for them as well. They were were dressed in some hilarious costumes adding to the fun of the evening and then played their hearts out for every song. An outstanding performance and incredible energy from the crowd singing along to their favourties, crowd surfing and dancing. A great time!

    Flogging Molly @ Commodore Ballroom

by Nobby on 2009-10-31Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

The venue holds just shy of a thousand punters but has plenty of room so you don't feel like cattle (like some other venue I've been to), it's also small enough to give a great atmosphere. Dean Lickyer opened up the proceedings in fine style, a great young band who got the crowd warmed up in almost no time. Then came a band that have been crafting their style for the last few years. Inward Eye are getting better all the time and will before long be a headline act in their own right, I'm sure. From the moment Flogging Molly took to the stage they held the crowd spellbound, they performed all the songs any fan would have expected of them and more! For anyone who is unsure whether to go and see Flogging Molly or not, I would say without doubt yes. They are musically tight, funny, thought provoking, powerful and have more personality than most bands you'll find on the scene today. Grab yourself a ticket and get to the party, you're guaranteed a good time.

    Flogging Molly ate Vancouver alive

by Kami on 2009-10-30Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

We had to wait through 2 other bands first to see the main show which didn't get under way until after 11pm - the impatience in the crowd was almost tangible. Finally they hit the stage and the entire floor was shaking under the dancing feet of the audience as they began their first song. AN absolutely fantastic show; the Commodore (in my opinion) was the perfect venue for FM. There was a pit, crowd surfing, and cups and booze flying in the air above the crowd and onto the stage all night. Pretty epic stuff. I feel bad for everyone who missed it.

    Flogging Molly

by Thecook on 2009-10-30Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

Amazing show. Opening acts were very good strong performers. Dean Lickyer playing good old classic rock inspired tunes while Inward Eye played some high energy punk. But Flogging Molly had the whole audience involved playing a wide range of their music new to old. The mosh pit was alive and bouncing, but very friendly. The staff at the Commodore were also incredible and seemed to enjoy the show as much as the fans. They are playing again tonight and I would go again if I wasn't working.
