About

Flogging Molly are the Celtic-punk pioneers known for frolicking barroom anthems like “Drunken Lullabies” and “Devil’s Dance Floor.” Though singer Dave King is Irish, the band made their name in the ’90s as the bar band at Molly Malone's (an Irish pub based in Los Angeles). Their breakthrough arrived in 2002 with the album Drunken Lullabies, when the title track “Drunken Lullabies” was featured in the popular video game Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4. Flogging Molly exported their raucous live show to the Vans Warped Tour between 2000 and 2009, where they became fan favorites. Touring worldwide, Flogging Molly would cement their reputation as one of the rowdiest and most passionate live bands in the world. Popular albums like Swagger (2000) and Float (2008), often defying categorization, have propelled them to sell over a million albums worldwide.

    Amazing as always

by mikipoosgirl on 2009-10-27Edmonton Event Centre - Edmonton

Flogging Molly love what they do. It's obvious in their shows in the energy they bring to the stage and how they interact with the crowd and each other. From the minute they take to the stage to the moment when they leave and mingle with the crowd at the end, a Flogging Molly show is an experience not to be missed. The only thing I did not enjoy about this show was the first opening band - they were awful.

    Flogging Molly Kicks ASS!!!!!!!

by MatteeK on 2009-10-26The Odeon Events Centre - Saskatoon

They were awesome, Flogging Molly is a super classy and energenic bunch. I was up on the balcony wishing I was on the floor because their music made you want to explode with motion. Their genius mixture of several great instruments makes their sound unlike any other. Each song was explained and had a background story which helps you enjoy the songs that much more. The whole experience made me be proud of the little Irish heritage that I have and wish I had more.

by redbandana on 2009-10-26The Odeon Events Centre - Saskatoon

Having never seen Flogging Molly live before, I didn't know what to expect. I figured I'd enjoy myself, and well, I did! I thought they were great live! If you're a fan of this band and you haven't seen them live yet, look up a show! It was a lot of fun, and the crowd was very into the band.

Flogging Molly - Best Sunday in history!

by DeeSweetheart on 2009-10-26The Odeon Events Centre - Saskatoon

This show far surpassed my already high expectations. The opening acts were talented and fun, the stage effects looked great, very enjoyable. Flogging Molly blew me away last night. I was unprepared for the raw talent this group has. The set list was high energy and the band has fantastic chemistry. My only complaint was the venue. The mandatory coat check seemed a little much. Having a coat check is a great option, but if it's mandatory it should be free.... or you should at least be able to recheck. Although going out for a smoke was pretty chilly, it didn't happen often because I didn't want to miss a moment. Flogging Molly: THANK YOU FOR A FANTASTIC PERFORMANCE!!!

    Flogging Molly

by Johnnyt on 2009-10-26The Odeon Events Centre - Saskatoon

I'll admit, my opinion is very bias, because I am a HUGE fan of this band, and have been for around seven years. However, this being said, if you're a fan, Flogging Molly does not fail to please. They play all the old favourites, and the new ones, and everything in between. The ONLY song I wanted to hear but didn't, was Killburn High Road. They managed to play all of my other favourites though, and then some. As well, the opening bands, neither of which I had actually heard of previously, were AWESOME. Dean Likyer(I apologize for the misspelling) reminded me of a young, new Led Zeppelin of sorts, and Inward Eye were highly entertaining. Both great at getting you pumped for the show, as well as keeping you entertained. I HIGHLY recommend this for fans and newcomers alike.

Best Sunday night you could ever have.

by flat on 2009-10-26The Odeon Events Centre - Saskatoon

The show was awesome. Perfect venue, perfect bands. The first band wasn't the greatest but they had potential. Inward Eye was good, some killer guitar riffs and their drummer definately impressed the crowd. Flogging Molly was absolutely amazing however, had the crowd pumped. Awesome, just awesome.

They put on an amazing show! The set list covered their entire discography, they did a few minor acoustical sets, and really played to the crowd to get everyone in it. I would recommened this concert to anyone.

Floggin Molly, Inward Eye, Dean Lickyer - Winnipeg

by WpgMusicFan on 2009-10-25Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Overall the night was excellent. The opening acts were solid and far above average from other opening acts I have seen. To be honest, I bought tickets as Inward Eye was playing (hometown crowd) so I'm a bit bias. I wasn't particularly familiar with Flogging Molly's catalog so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. That said, I thought they were excellent. They had good energy and solid crowd banter. Needless to say, any band that has a full time accordian player and full time madolin/banjo player has to be something special! Even the drummer (who looks like a bricklayer from Dublin) had great feel and skill. Would highly recommned them for anyone interested in dancing to some amped up pub music.

    insane!

by THEAdrian on 2009-10-25Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

First band, Dean Lickyer was terrible: good musicians but their lead singer was a joke, screamed like an 8 year old, danced around like the lead singer of aerosmith, and was generally creepy Second band, Inward eye was ok: nothing special but their drummer was pretty crazy Flogging Molly: this band kicked my a** across the room and back, holy crap it was insane! Made up for the first two disappointments easily! These guys (and girl) just served up a heaping helping of stand up, hoist your beer and jig around irish punk!
