    4 Tops

by Earwig on 2010-10-11Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

We had front row tickets to see the 4 tops on Saturday night at the Red Robinson. We couldn't see a thing since there was about 40 women that had to block our view to dance. Some of the women were shouting and laughing so hard that it made it hard to hear the Tops even speak. They came on stage at 8:20 and were done by 9:15. We are very disappointed and would never go back again. What a waste of 140.00. Never again.

It was disappointing missing one of the Four Tops due to a family emergency but they still sounded great. The show was too short - less than an hour. Great orchestra and overall entertaininment. Just wished it was longer.

    The Three Tops

by monajh on 2010-10-11Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

We were very disappointed in the show. We should have been advised earlier(at the entrance) that there would only be 3 performers, not when we were sitting down and the show was already 15 minutes late. I would have not gone in that case. They could have also tried to put on a better show. They sang shortened versions of their hits. They were on stage for less than an hour. The whole show was disappointing.

    Unspectacular!

by BIGLRH on 2010-10-11Red Robinson Show Theatre - Coquitlam

The concert started twenty minutes late ... and then was all finished in one hour. Some good songs and talent, but way too much talking throughout. I see a lot of concerts, and this was one of the poorest experiences I've had.

The Four Tops were three Tops

by owwiee on 2010-02-16Casino Rama - Orillia

My friends drove two hours one way after work to meet me to see the Four Tops. We rushed through dinner to meet the 9:00 showtime, only to find it was postponed until 10:00. The band came out and played a couple of songs, followed by Three Tops (fourth Top didn't make it). The only orginal Top sang maybe four songs...he had difficutly breathing and mentioned a few times, it was time for a break. The concert was only one hour...we were actually in the lobby at 11:00...the concert should have been 1 1/2 - 2 hours. It was a good thing the two new members knew how to play the organ, otherwise it would have been a 30 minute concert. My friends drove a total of 4 hours for a 50 minute concert. Definitely wouldn't recommend the Four Tops to anyone. Sorry, we were really pumped for the concert...huge disappointment.

    not impressed

by banny on 2010-02-10Casino Rama - Orillia

First of all when we arrived we were told that the performance was delayed by ONE HOUR. One performers plane was delayed. For a professional event, the performer should arrive much earlier that day, if not the day before. Then when the performance finally started, a few minutes past the rescheduled time, they were announced as the 4 TOPPS, but there were only THREE Topps on stage. You could really notice that the vocals were not the same without that 4th singer. Then on top of everything, the show barely lasted 1hr. 15 min. We drove all the way from Milton to see this, as did many others from various further places. We saw numbers of people LEAVING during the performance. Especially for a rich place like a casino, we should have been given free show tickets, or something as a consolation. That would have been the professional thing to do. We were not given vouchers, or drink coupons, nothing saying I'm sorry for what happened. While the performers themselves were good, and tried to be upbeat and accomodating, we were very displeased with the manner in which the whole evening went.. We will not be recommending this venue to any of our family or friends.

    DISAPPOINTED FAN

    by CONCERTGOER18 on 2010-02-08Casino Rama - Orillia

TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED ! CONCERT WAS DELAYED FOR AN HOUR BY THE BAND'S REQUEST. ONLY 3 OF THE PERFORMERS MADE IT TO THE SHOW. BAD WEATHER IN THE USA WAS THE CAUSE. THE BAD WEATHER HAD BEEN GOING ON FOR SOME TIME, I DON'T THINK THEY REALLY FELT THAT THE FOURTH BAND MEMBER WAS GOING TO MAKE IT. THE DELAY WAS WAS UNCALLED FOR. IN ADDITION, THE BAND ONLY PLAYED FOR 1 HOUR. IT TOOK MY HUSBAND AND i LONGER TO DRIVE TO THE VENUE THAN THE TOTAL TIME THE BAND WAS ON STAGE. DUKE, THE ONLY REMAINING ORIGINAL BAND MEMBER KEPT JOKING THAT HE NEEDED TO REST. IT DIDN'T SEEM LIKE A JOKE TO ME. wE HAVE SEEN MANY DIFFERENT PERFORMERS, MANY THAT YOU MAY CONSIDER OLD TIMERS. REALITY IS THAT PERFORMING LIVE IS NO EASY THING, EVEN FOR YOUNG ARTISTS. THE PERFORMANCE COULD HAVE BEEN LONGER AND MORE ENJOYABLE IF THEY HAD CARED TO BE CREATIVE ABOUT THE SHOW. VIDEO CLIPS OR INSTRUMENTALS COULD HAVE GIVEN A BREAK TO THOSE WHO NEEDED IT, WITHOUT TAKING AWAY FROM THE PERFORMANCE. FOR A GROUP THAT HAS BEEN AROUND THIS LONG, IT WAS REALLY UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE TO PUT ON A CONCERT LIKE THIS. SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO KNOW WHEN TO CALL IT QUITS.

    THE FOUR TOPS

by Anonymous on 2010-02-08Casino Rama - Orillia

The one hour delay in the concert along with the absense of a group member was somewhat disappointing. It appeared that with the missing member, the stage presentation was lacking in some substance. The 59 minute set was not to professional standards either. A valiant effort by the Duke to pull it off, however the show was not firing on all cylinders.

    The "Three" Tops at Rama!

    by Trixieanne50 on 2010-02-08Casino Rama - Orillia

I went to Rama on Friday and saw what was supposed to be the Four Tops, but one member couldn't make it because of weather somewhere....very disappointing. However I think my main concern about the concert was that their big hits were, in the main, played in medleys and much lesser known ones received, for me, too much time. Their singing and overall performance was very good, but was too short...only just an hour from start to finish and of course, with one member missing, the vocals seemed weak. I was so looking forward to the concert, so I did feel a little cheated.

    3 out of 4 Tops a disappointment

    by energy1 on 2010-02-07Casino Rama - Orillia

We arrived at Casino Rama expecting the show to start at 9, delayed due to a missing performer. The show started at 10-still missing one member. The "3 out of 4" Tops had weak backup vocals, no doubt due to the absence of a singer. The singer that sang lead most of the time was good. The orchestra was very good and carried the show. The concert was only an hour long. Overall, it was a disappointment.

    Four Tops was Disappointing

by DivineDeva on 2010-02-06Casino Rama - Orillia

The Show was too short, it was just an hour. I expected it to be at least 1 hour and a half. One of the Four Tops was missing and the subsitute was not adequate. The original Four Tops could not keep up with the rest of the group. They should have an intermission for him to have a break. I feel they did not sing most of their popular songs and did not engage the audience until the last song.

    One top missing

by Encore on 2010-02-06Casino Rama - Orillia

Watched the concert at Casinorama in Ontario Canada. The concert began one hour late because one of the members had not shown up. At 10:00 P.M. the show began with only 3 Tops....short one member. They apologised for the missing member due to "inclement weather" (the weather was fine in our area!). The show was completely disjointed...the fact that one of the Tops was missing really showed. The pace was off...no excitement...the harmonies lacked the 4th voice. In the middle of the show two of the new Tops did a modern jazz piano scat duet (what that had to do with Mowtown beats me)...they completely lost the audience...it was as if they were trying to come up with material at the last minute to make up for the messed up show. As well there as a microphone/electrical issue with the band leader's equipement. A roadie came on stage, a distracting little guy, at least 8 times...he would scamper behind the group as they were singing...I've never seen anything so chaotic. As soon as the group did their "last song" the audience began to leave without waiting for an encore.......really a bad concert..... Very sad indeed as I have seen some great performances at Casinorama: Aretha Franklin, Tony Bennet, Tower of Power and Tom Jones, The Doobie Brothers, Earth Wind and Fire, Little Richard and others. Oh well, you can't win em all!!

    Four Tops was really bad

by toolate on 2010-02-06Casino Rama - Orillia

This show was awful. To start off it started out being delayed to 10 p.m. as one of the Tops was late -- who never showed at all. So it might as well began on time. People were actually walking out 15 minutes into the show. When you go to see a show like this you obviously want to hear the original versions. This didn't happen -- some songs were almost over before you finally figured out which one it was. And the piano interlude .............hello - really bad. We saw ShaNaNa the night before and it was twice the show.

    The Four Tops-really bad

by betha on 2010-02-06Casino Rama - Orillia

We've been to many concerts - this was by far the worse - 65 minutes long and at least 10 minutes of it was the 2 new tops playing duelling pianos. One member didnt make it due to weather - maybe he should have come the night before!!!!! I would rather have been given a refund. WE were in the 4th row from the front and you couldnt make out half the words - 3 tops were screaming -not singing. I would rather pay more for tickets and actually get a concert .

    Pathetic performance.

by Mustard on 2010-02-06Casino Rama - Orillia

I have never been so disappointed in a show as I was last night. The show started 1 hour late while they waited for the last performer to arrive. He didn't arrive, as he appeared to never have left his point of departure. The show went on with 3 performers. The only one of the original Four Tops had a cold or some other breathing problem because his voice was very weak, causing him to take multiple breaks, by his own admission, to regain his breath. The performance was supposed to be 75 minutes but was only 60 minutes long, with the first 10 minutes being taken up by his Orchestra. By the reaction of the audience, I was not the only one dissatisfied. Many people left shortly after the performance started and many continued to leave all during the performance. Additionally, the audience was not al all forthcoming with their applause at all. It was only polite applause at the best of times. Multiple times during the performance, a stage hand was coming on stage to fix something with one of the Keyboards. We did not pay to watch a continual distraction like that. With the cost of driving from Toronto, Dinner at the casino, Show tickets and driving home, more than an hour later than was planned, I think that $125.00 was a complete waste of time and money. We go to several concerts a year at Rama and Niagara, however, I probably will never go to Casio Rama again. There should have been an offer of refund or some other form of compensation to all ticket holders.

The "Four Tops" turned out to be the Three Tops. The Fourth Top couldn't make it because of inclement weather - they should have planned better. Everyone knew this storm was coming. Also, the sound guy continuously walked on and off the stage - this was annoying.

    The Fourth Top was Missing

by Zackster on 2010-02-06Casino Rama - Orillia

Hello, This was our first time taking in a concert at Casino Rama and my wife and I were extremely disappointed. I left work early to make sure that we did not have to rush up north. While having dinner I got a call from my daughter that Rama called and the concert was delayed until 10:00pm. Although no explanation was given, we found out the Fourth Top was unable to make the event due to bad weather in the US. I do not understand why took so long for Rama to call....for the rescheduled time of the show. But the biggest disappointment was the show. I believe they came on at 10:05 and finished at 11:05..... I was informed the Rama shows are usually 1 1/2 hrs. My wife and I were really looking forward to amazing concert.....and we left extremely disappointed !!!!
