    Lots of Fun

by V123 on 2010-11-10Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

It was very entertaining. The characters seemed to have done a lot of research from the original movie and were great.

    Fabulous!

Grease was fabulous! It was and is still one of my favourite's of all time. The casting was very well represented. The singers and dancers were amazing. Well worth every penny, would definately see it again!

    Grease was a disappointment

by Garbage on 2010-11-09Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

We enjoyed the dancing and the actions of the cast. However, the singing was terrible. We couldn't understand what they were singing. We talked to others and they had the same impression. Only two of the singers were able to sing clearly so that we would actually hear what they were singing, Eddy Mekka and the girl who played Sandy. We have attended a lot of live theatre and this performance was probably the least enjoyable as we would not understand what they were singing. The sound in a high school gym is better.

    Grease

I was quite dissapointed in this production. The leads were not the best singers. The best one was Rizzo.

Like most people in the last 40 years, I grew up watching Grease. The musical captured the timeless qualitiies that I remember. I would go again and would recommend anyone to go.

I was disappointed in the quality of the performance. The speaking parts were difficult to hear in the 2nd balcony and the actress who played Sandy was difficult to hear and her acting wasn't great. I was also disappointed by the ending where Sandy has to change to get the guy but Danny didn't have to change to get her. I took my daughter for her 21st birthday and she really enjoyed the music.

Danny was great as was Kinnicky and Rizzo. Overall was disappointed with the show. Think the props and story could have been done much better. I am a huge fan if grease and expected more.

    was expecting way more...

by anonymous22 on 2010-11-09Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

I was very disappointed in this grease production. I bought tickets for the family, and we were all very excited as grease was one of our favourite movies growing up. The singing vocals of SOME of the actors were great, however others were terrible. The cast's acting skills were terrible. I don't know how they chose this cast, none of them matched the characters and having the show be a combination of both the movie and original play was a terrible idea, it just made it confusing. Danny was way too big for his role, Sandy too short, and I did not even know who a few of the chraacters even were. While watching this play, I found myself yawing frequently, I honestly felt as if i was at one of my high school plays 3 years ago. I was very disappointed in Broadway across Canada, i was really expecting a much better show, everything was below my expectations. I think a better cast would have made the show much better. Bottom line, i would NOT recommend this specific show to anyone, and the prices i paid for the tickets was not worth the show. I paid almost $85 per ticket, had i known what the show was going to offer, I wouldn't have paid anymore than $30 per ticket.

    Grease was wonderful

by charbell on 2010-11-09Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

This show brought me back in time. The actors made it come alive. They were full of energy. The singing was amazing also. It was great to see Eddie Mekka. He was funny and the moves he danced were amazing. The only thing that I did not enjoy was the smoking. The actors smoked real cigarettes and the smoke came into the audience. It was real uncomfortable. I would recommend this show to everyone I know. Great job!!!

    Grease was an excellent performance!

by Peasfan on 2010-11-09Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

I found that Grease was a very good performance. Brought back the memories of that era. Excellent music...However I found that some of the singing was just a little off at times...Loved how they portrayed the Frenchy Character and the Rydel High Teacher so well even in the voice.

This was one of the weakest performances I have ever been to. The character of Sandra was extremely weak. At times, she was difficult to hear, we couldn't understand what she said and her singing was extremely poor. She was poorly cast, in my opinion. What a disappointment!

    Grease

by Junebug2 on 2010-11-09Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

The show was very good, but the microhone for Sandy ddn't seem to be working very well, or else she couldn't project her voice. The progression throughthe music was interesting as certain songs were in a diferent order than the original show. Definitely an enjoyable evenig!

    Grease is the word!

by Chelsymay on 2010-11-09Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

The show itself was great fun. The main problem we had was the sound, the music seemed to be much louder than the singers and we often had a problem hearing "Sandy" in particular. Even when she was speaking (without music in the background) she was hard to hear. Rizzo was great!

    Grease was disappointing

by kutip on 2010-11-08Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

I was very disappointed in Grease. I thought they derailed from the original story so much so that it was actually unrecognizable. I found the stage sett up to be amateur.

    Grease

Great show, very entertaining. I found the orchestra was too loud though and at times drowned out the singers. Had a great time though and well worth the money.

Overall, it was a great show. I attended with my 9 year old daughter and she loved it. The music, the songs, all was fantastic. The only kind of complain was that even though it was rated as a family event, some times the language contained some inapropiate words. But we really enjoyed the show.

    Grease was a disappointment

by mybell on 2010-11-08Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

I have never walked out halfway through a production before. My 3 girlfriends and myself were looking forward to the evening and we were all so disappointed. After watching the first half I thought I might be the only one who was feeling this way but at intermission I learned that my friends felt the same way. The sound was terrible which made the music unbearable. The dancing was mediocre. The tickets were overpriced. Not a good night.
