About

Formed in 1985 in Los Angeles, Guns N' Roses are one of the best-selling rock acts in history. Apart from more than 100 million records sold worldwide (including their 18-times platinum debut Appetite for Destruction), the group is also a formidable live act, regularly selling out stadiums and headlining major festivals. They performed for the first time as Guns N' Roses in June 1985 at the Troubadour in Hollywood, Calif. and have hardly left the road since, though the band has undergone various lineup changes. The 2016-2019 Not In This Lifetime… Tour — which featured classic lineup members Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan performing together for the first time since 1993 — is one of the highest-grossing runs in history. To date, Guns N’ Roses have grossed $774.1 million and sold 9.6 million tickets over 453 shows.

    Amazing

by AxlsFutureWife on 2010-01-17Pengrowth Saddledome - Calgary

Axl is back!! I have been a die hard fan for 22 years and I was so impressed last night. Axl came on stage about 40 minutes BEFORE he was scheduled and played for almost 3 hours. He played a great mix including "Rocket Queen" and "You Could Be Mine". He played a lot of his new songs and rocked the Saddledome. Definitely worth the money. I saw him last time he was here and if he comes again, I will see him again. GNFR 4 LIFE

    Could have been better

    by Forever23 on 2010-01-17Pengrowth Saddledome - Calgary

I have been excited for this concert for months, and was prepared for it to be completely epic... It wasn't. There was too big of a space between their big hits and they played for too long. I was exhausted by the end and just ready to go home. I was thinking that if they played Don't Cry it would have been totally worth it - but they didn't. November Rain was definitely the highlight of the show, and Patience was a close second. I am glad I went and got to experience them live, but the show could have been better. The opening acts - Danko Jones and Sebastien Bach were not good. In fact, we left and went and watched the football game after a few minutes of Danko Jones and came back for the end of Sebastien Bach, who I did not enjoy save for one song. I would recommend this event to big fans of Guns n' Roses, because you are not likely to get another chance to see them live. But it didn't really rank in my top concerts.

I am glad I got to see a band I loved when I was in highschool however I think axl could put on a better performance if he was taking better care of himself. He seemed to be in pain and it was very difficult to understand him. He was shaky and out of breath. I hope he starts to take better care of his health. The band was energetic and had fantastic sound. The fire show was good too, I think I am deaf! It sounded like the CD.

    GnR

by Anonymous on 2010-01-17Pengrowth Saddledome - Calgary

This concert was fantastic. Although there were some technical difficulties Axl and the bad didn't let it affect their performance. They were on stage for just under 3 hours and sang every hit song they have ever come out with. The encore was four songs long which was much appreciated by the fans. One thing about Axl is he is always respectful towards the fans which is sometimes hard to find in this music genre. Axl was high energy right until the end of the show and the fire. lights, and spark showers on stage were visually appealing.

Guns N Roses was all the Hype worth it?

by Ryujinkarate on 2010-01-17Pengrowth Saddledome - Calgary

After a long wait came on stage at 10pm, excellent stage set up lots of Pyrotechnics and videos opened with a Chinese Democracy song then into the oldies!!! Most of the Appetite for destruction album played which was awesome, even the democracy stuff was pretty good live.. Axl kept going off stage every song!! is he really getting that old?? show finished at about 1245am so a good performance and plenty for your money... Was it Guns n Roses?? No its not the same without Slash and the rest of the originals but was good to see... Axl should of come out with a new band name rather than the GnR name as being a old Die hard was not quite the same especially the new guitarist mimicing slash on stage......... Would i go again... yes... overall a good night.. sebastian Bach was awesome as usual!!

    GNR still wicked!!!!

by folkde on 2010-01-17Pengrowth Saddledome - Calgary

They played for a good 3 hours - played all the classics from their Appetite album - Axl messed up the lyrics for "Sweet child of mine" but recovered beautifully... Bumblefoot was increadible - lots of solos. Bubbles from trailer park boys came on stage and sang liquor and whores - a nice spin on the whole concert for sure! all in all i was blown away by this concert and was sad that it had to end.

Guns and roses put on the best show ever.

by Anonymous on 2010-01-17Pengrowth Saddledome - Calgary

I have seen a lot of concerts and if this wasn't the top concert I have ever seen it sure was close. The energy the band had on stage was second to none. The light and fire show was phenominal. They played for three hours and where I was on the floor the crowd was going non stop for three hours. The only draw back was there was no camera's allowed and the security was bothering people non stop about taking pictures.

Guns N Roses should throw in the towel!!!

by Sundevil on 2010-01-16MTS Centre - Winnipeg

Or should I say the "Axl Rose" show should retire. Bottom line - they sucked. They are not performers who care about their fans. They show up on stage when they feel like it and don't give more than 60%. GNR finally took the stage at 10:45 and while the stage set up was spectacular, the band was not. They had all either been drinking or were stoned on something...our seats were on the side, 2 rows from the stage - we were very close. After finally waiting all that time for them to come out, the lyrics were muffled, the sound atrocious and it seemed that Axl just shuffled his way through - Has he forgotten his own lyrics!!! And to top things off Axl and several other members of the band kept running backstage every chance they got - what they hell were they running to??? The only 2 things that received GNR a star from me, was (1) the stage set up and (2) the piano playing. I was told the evening finally came to an end at 1:45 AM!!!! How ridiculous! I am glad I didn't waste my time and stay till the end. GNR was one big disappointment and one concert that I will NEVER attend again.

    Exhausted but satisfied

by TheDeuce on 2010-01-15MTS Centre - Winnipeg

Thought they were better last time but still pretty good. Axl still sounds amazing and thank God the cornrows are gone! Band sounded good but I did find myself wondering a few times how much better it would be if Slash and Duff were here but oh well. Dissapointed in the crowd, pretty small.

    Guns N Roses sucked!!!

    by Hammer31600 on 2010-01-15MTS Centre - Winnipeg

I'm not sure why, but at I would estimate that at least 30 times Axl left the stage in the middle of a song for a minimum of 30 seconds up to at some times 5 minutes. When the rest of the band is basically a cover band, the main entertainer should stay on stage. Each member of the band played a solo that was at least 5 minutes long, which gave Axl another chance to not be on the stage. There was even a 5 minute piano solo from a guy who didn't play the piano during the songs. It was awful. GNR took a one hour break after the stage was cleared from the opening acts. Thanks for making everyone wait so long. We actually left early it was so bad. I've been to lots of concerts in my day and have never left early. I would estimate that 15% of the crowd had left by the time I left, so I certainly wasn't the only one who didn't enjoy this show. If your thinking of going to see this show, save your money. I feel like Axl should owes me $105,
