My daughter and I watched the original on Netflix. We were absolutely blown away by the casting, set, and overall show. You have to go see this one, don’t miss out! You could feel the music. Amazing.
This was a very slick, well-oiled production. The singing, dancing, costumes, sets, etc. were all done with energy and great attention to detail. But..... I couldn't stand it. I was disappointed with the music. There are no memorable or catchy numbers. There is very little spoken dialogue. Rather, the dialogue is all in 'hip-hop' format, which was too rapid and difficult to follow. This made it hard to follow the plot, and to sort out the characters, although a better knowledge of early American history would have been helpful. The show is over-produced. For all the excellent and energetic dancing, it was way too much of a good thing. It was very distracting, and I struggled to stay with the plot. In summary, Hamilton is a slick, energetic, well-produced disappointment.
The story was well executed, and singers where phenomenal!
I enjoyed the music and energy but the production was to long.
Hamilton was amazing. We had previously watched this Broadway Show on a streaming platform but seeing it in person was so much better. The cast did a beautiful job with this musical. I would see it again given the chance.
Took an eight hour drive to get to Edmonton and I regret nothing. There were understudies in the roles of the Schuyler sisters and their vocals did at times betray the fact that they were not as comfortable but they were generally great. The well rehearsed swagger and confidence of the men from the opening overture to final note had me positively giddy for the length of the show. As a die hard fan I wish that some of the location references hadn't been changed but understand it may have been thought necessary for an international audience. Lin's Hamilton is scrappy and you hear the urgency in his rapping but this cast's Hamilton's singing chops shine and offer an emotional depth which isn't always present with Miranda (please forgive me Lin). Overall, a brilliant cast and experience!!
Great performance of a modern masterpiece. I love the story and the travelling casts was great.
The intricacies and movement of this show are simply stunning. The cast flowed seamlessly from one song into another and had passion for their characters. One of the best shows I have seen!
I purchased these tickets for my son who is a HUGE Hamilton fan. I figured I was there just as a “chaperone”. Well second song I was invested. This play was entertaining and the singing was amazing. This was my first experience with a musical, we will be going to more.
I knew it was going to be an awesome experience but it went beyond that. We love love Hamilton! The sound in the theatre was great! Such a great show. We would do it again!!!
I really enjoyed this show. I was worried it would be difficult to follow but I thought it was easy to follow. The actors are so talented!
We bought tickets for our family of 5 as a family Christmas present. The performance was fantastic! We have watched the recorded Broadway performance and it was even better in person!
Our night out to Hamilton was a delightful experience! Venue was fantastic and although we didn't have the best seats in the house, all four of us had an excellent view of the stage. Three of us had seen the production on TV and knew the story of Alexander Hamilton but one of our party could not follow the storyline as well as she would have liked. It was difficult to catch all the lyrics. We don't expect to be able to catch every word but thought that could have been better. I am not sure if that was the fault of the performers or the accoustics or perhaps the orchestra over powered the singing. But all in all the energy, the humour and cleverness made the performance memorable and satisfying!
Just watch it! Was amazing! Incredible! The whole crew was cast so well. Each and every person in this show were great! I could go on about how superb this show was all year!
This was my second time seeing HAMILTON in person and it was as moving, thrilling and solid as before. It’s great seeing a variety of actors bring the same roles to life. And I saw a swing and a standby in major roles and they were great too. This still remains my favourite musical of all time!
It was a truly wonderful performance. The cast were very talented and performed with great emotions.
The lighting, dancing, costumes and the general performance were great. The sound was bad. Unless we had known the outlines of the story, we wouldn't have been able to follow the performance. In prime seats, we understood almost nothing of the words. It was just garbled, especially when the band was competing with the actors, and when the actors were speaking quickly. We noticed that a number of people left at the intermission. We stayed in spite of our unhappiness, and were somewhat glad we saw it to the end. A friend had the same experience. We don't recommend the play, at least as produced in Edmonton.

The touring ensemble was fantastic! I would highly recommend this show to anyone who even has the slightest interest.
It was a wonderful experience for my family and I. Such amazing talents. We loved every bit of it.
