About

Heart formed in Seattle, Washington in 1973 and have rocked on through the years under the sibling core of Ann and Nancy Wilson. The group has released 16 studio albums, hitting the Top 10 seven times and topping the Billboard 200 with 1985’s Heart. The band have sold nearly 35 million albums worldwide. Early rock staples such as “Crazy on You,” "Barracuda” and “Magic Man” gave way to greater mainstream success in the ’80s with the group’s first Hot 100 chart-toppers, "These Dreams" in 1986 and "Alone” in 1987. Despite developing their own solo careers after their first hiatus in 1995, the Wilson sisters have reunited as Heart several times. In 2013, Heart was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The band have received four career Grammy nominations and received The Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023.

  • Joan Jett and Heart

by MikeC1000 on 2016-03-18Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

This was a concert we had looked forward to for a long time. Both groups were pioneers for women in rock. The music and the concert was fantastic. However, the volume was WAY too loud - especially for the smaller venue of the Jubilee Auditorium (vs the Saddledome). Many people, including us, left early due to the loudness - they even increased the volume part way through the concert. The music and stage performance were both great, for both bands. The advice we would give is to take ear plugs - a sure way to be able to enjoy the entire concert regardless of the venue! Other than that, it was first rate.

  • Joan Jett rocked!!

by A7801 on 2016-03-17Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Joan Jett was amazing! Very energetic and she put on an awesome show! Both Joan Jett and Heart are in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, so it was great that the bands teamed up and each performed for an equal amount of time, rather then Joan Jett opening for them like she has for other bands. The only thing that could have made the evening better is if there was a VIP Meet and Greet with Joan Jett. I saw there was one for Heart but not Joan Jett, maybe next time Joan Jett is in Edmonton Ticket Master will offer a Meet and Greet. The concert rocked!!

  • Jett and Heart rocked

by 1962rock on 2016-03-17Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

Good show from both artists...I had never seen Joan Jett before and she played all the hits she is known for with some Runaways tunes. Heart was solid as ever though wondered why 3 Zeppelin encores and no Dreamboat Annie or cover of Stairway to Heaven (check their youtube version) and you'll want to hear it.

  • Wonderful

by Atee on 2016-03-17Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

Heart + Joan Jet was one of the very best concerts I've been too. These classic young ladies continue to have the beauty, sound and talents that make them true rock and roll legends. Thanks to them and their bands for making such a wonderful night possible and for being themselves. The Jubilee was a great venue and allowed these ladies to sound amazing.

  • Special night with Heart!

by Mangoluvs on 2016-03-17Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

It's incredible how good Ann Wilson sounds. Her vocals are spot on and hearing her hit every single note perfectly on "Alone" gave me goosebumps. The set list was strong, with Ann and Nancy focusing on their biggest hits. The Jubilee Auditorium is the ideal venue to listen to Heart. They sounded excellent.

  • Heart was unbelievable!

by DLee on 2016-03-17Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

It was truly a great concert, seen them in 1980 and this was even better

  • Fun night with Classic Rockers

by Classicrockguy on 2016-03-17Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

We really enjoyed both Joan Jett and Heart. The girls were all in fine form. Ann can still belt it out, and Joan Jett hasn't lost a step at all. Only disappointing thing was that Heart chose to skip both Dreamboat Annie and Dog and Butterfly, choosing to cover a couple of Zeppelin tunes instead. Odd choice, but I know they're big fans of them. Didn't see the opening act.

This was an awesome show!! All the ladies performed like the Rock stars that they are and have been since they started out in rock and roll long ago. Thanks Queens of Sheba for a great show and walk down memory lane!

  • by Di12 on 2016-03-17Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

This was an amazing concert. Joan Jett can still rock!! Heart was very good as well, wish they would have played more of there hits though.

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts - awesome! Heart - I've seen them 4 times now..they keep getting better and better!

  • the Girls know how to Rock!

by Cyndiloola7 on 2016-03-17Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

Joan Jett and and Heart - you ladies can still rock it out. A great performance with some great music and fun energy. I really enjoyed the video montages played along with the songs you really took me back to my youth - what a fun night. My only comment or suggestion would be that having an opening band wasn't necessary and made the night a little late for a Monday (yawn). Thanks for a great start to my week, it was memorable!

  • Chicks with Guitars

by Birdie5673 on 2016-03-17Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

I Love Rock N Roll -- Joan Jett was amazing and in my humble opinion totally stole the show. No way she should be considered a "warm-up" She played all the songs I knew and love and a few more to boot. The Wilson Sisters were good, however, sound on first few songs was a bit sketchy - couldn't really hear lead guitar too well. And they didn't play Dog & Butterfly - the little girls ahead of me in line in the washroom and I were a bit disappointed by that.

  • Fire the sound man for HEART

by TSONUT on 2016-03-17Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 2 out of 5

I was impressed with The Mandevilles and Joan Jett, but the sound man should be fired for Heart. The instruments drowned out the fantastic voices of Ann & Nancy. Ann even asked the guys in the front row what the problem was....and they said 'we can't hear YOU!" The instruments were turned up so loud it actually was hard to hear the lyrics at times. If I didn't like them that much, I would have walked out. It improved a little half way thru, so I thought they were fixing the problem, then it just went down hill again.

  • Ann has chops

by robterri on 2016-03-17Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

Heart was awesome!!! Ann can still belt out those high notes. Joan Jett pretty good too. WIsh Heart would have played a couple other classic hits but all in all great show. Downside of Jubilee is we cannot be trusted with a glass of wine inside theatre.......

  • Terrible Sound Quality

by BGGG on 2016-03-17Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 3 out of 5

Heart was excellent and it was sure fun to hear Nancy Wilson sing more. The new song Two was excellent, but the sound quality the entire night was absolutely brutal, which is tough to do for the Jubilee, and the reason why I only gave the show 3 stars. Well that and because Joan Jett was pretty terrible; it sure appeared like she'd rather have been anywhere but where she was. The opening act, Mandibles I think? from Ontario was ok, not great, but the lead singer could have done a better job with the Joan Jett songs then Joan Jett.

  • Heart was Amazing!

by CJR1 on 2016-03-17Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

Excellent, perfect just like the records. Just what I expected.

  • Great show

by LoveHeart on 2016-03-17Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

What a fantastic show! Joan Jett was fantastic and what can you say about The Wilson sisters? I've always said that Ann is the "voice". In their 60's and haven't lost any power. Loved it!

  • Heart and Joan Jett were AWESOME!!!!!!

by Pancho on 2016-03-16Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Great performances by both artists. the ONLY downer was the fact that the two rows of people in front of us had been drinking heavily, standing and waving their hands the whole show, contantly snapping selfies. Jubilee security was non-existent. (A joke.) Couldn't see half the show.

  • Mind BLOWN!!!!!

by Ofwolfenkind on 2016-03-16Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

I can't believe I waited this long to see either of these performers!!!! Kickass show in a great venue with perfect sound!!!

  • Joan Jett & Heart are my heroes!!

by Buttermeup on 2016-03-16Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

So great! Talented women! Songs are still killer and they all look amazing!
