Heart Were Great!
by SternRules on 2011-02-15Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5Heart put on a good show. The intro had a few of them banging on the drums and Ann was standing in front of the giant screen at the back. The lights were low and you could just see her sillouhette. I thought that was cool. They played alot of the old favorites I'm sure everybody wanted to hear like myself including Barracuda, Magic Man, Heartless, Straight On, Dog & Butterfly, Dreamboat Annie and, of course, Crazy On You. That's the one I was waiting for complete with Nancy doing the acoustic intro. That was the highlight for me. She was very energetic throughout the show. They played a couple songs from the new album Red Velvet Car. They also did an acoustic version of Alone with Ann, Nancy and the keyboardist after which the crowd gave them a standing ovation. Quite a moment for sure. The opening act was a solo acoustic artist Carmen Townsend from Cape Breton. She's been around for a long time and has a new solo album out. She has a very unique voice and I really liked her. Definately worth a listen. This was just a Canadian tour with the final show ending in Vancouver. All in all, a great show and I'm definately glad I went. Heart are Canadian legends for sure.
