About

Heart formed in Seattle, Washington in 1973 and have rocked on through the years under the sibling core of Ann and Nancy Wilson. The group has released 16 studio albums, hitting the Top 10 seven times and topping the Billboard 200 with 1985’s Heart. The band have sold nearly 35 million albums worldwide. Early rock staples such as “Crazy on You,” "Barracuda” and “Magic Man” gave way to greater mainstream success in the ’80s with the group’s first Hot 100 chart-toppers, "These Dreams" in 1986 and "Alone” in 1987. Despite developing their own solo careers after their first hiatus in 1995, the Wilson sisters have reunited as Heart several times. In 2013, Heart was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The band have received four career Grammy nominations and received The Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023.

  • Heart Were Great!

by SternRules on 2011-02-15Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

Heart put on a good show. The intro had a few of them banging on the drums and Ann was standing in front of the giant screen at the back. The lights were low and you could just see her sillouhette. I thought that was cool. They played alot of the old favorites I'm sure everybody wanted to hear like myself including Barracuda, Magic Man, Heartless, Straight On, Dog & Butterfly, Dreamboat Annie and, of course, Crazy On You. That's the one I was waiting for complete with Nancy doing the acoustic intro. That was the highlight for me. She was very energetic throughout the show. They played a couple songs from the new album Red Velvet Car. They also did an acoustic version of Alone with Ann, Nancy and the keyboardist after which the crowd gave them a standing ovation. Quite a moment for sure. The opening act was a solo acoustic artist Carmen Townsend from Cape Breton. She's been around for a long time and has a new solo album out. She has a very unique voice and I really liked her. Definately worth a listen. This was just a Canadian tour with the final show ending in Vancouver. All in all, a great show and I'm definately glad I went. Heart are Canadian legends for sure.

Excellent performance. Sound was very good. I'm not a Heart fan, but after this concert I will see them again in the future.

  • Heart was amazing

by BabySnooks on 2011-02-14Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Ann and Nancy Wilson, aka Heart, in concert at Massey Hall on Feb. 11, blew me away! I especially enjoyed Dog and Butterfly, with Ann on flute, from their early days, which is my all-time Heart favourite. Also loved Red Velvet Car, from their new album of the same name and -- oh heck, everything they performed was wonderful! Ann's voice is so strong and beautiful and Nancy still kicks it up on guitar!

  • Will always love Heart!

Loved the concert - can't go wrong w/ a small venue like Massey Hall - highly recommend it!!!

  • Heart still has it

by Chbr on 2011-02-14Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen a lot of older bands and have seen some that don't sound so good anymore. Heart isn't one of them. Ann Wilsons still has the range, and Nancy, you've gotta like a woman rocking out in a hockey jersey. There's a lot of great Heart songs that they can't fit into a show, so I don't love that they do some covers. I would rather see them doing some of their own songs they couldn't fit it, but I guess some people must like it. First saw them at Exhibition Stadium in the early 80's and they still have it.

  • Heart...the Wilson Sisters haven't lost anything

by charp on 2011-02-14Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

I was extremely pleased with the concert. After 35 years I think they are getting stronger. Annie still has a great voice and Nancy is still a phenominal guitarist. Great show recommend to all Heart Fans.

  • Heart Concert is spectacular!

  • Ann & Nancy - Part of Rock Royalty

by Studnick on 2011-02-14Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I've loved Heart since I was in my teens. I can honestly say that these two sisters still have the Magic - vocals are still dead-on and true to their studio sound. This is a marvel that they can still rock it and belt it out the way they did back in the 70's and 80's. I saw them back up The Who back in the early 80's at the CNE Stadium in Toronto. They still perform with the same energy and love. Kudos to the Wilson sisters!!!

  • Ann's voice still rocks

by Teij on 2011-02-14Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Played all their hits, despite tour of current release. Ann's voice was incredible.

  • Wilsons sisters rock

Amazing concert, Wilson sisters show us how to conduct true rock concert. Anne is one of the best vocals ever, female Robert Plant.

  • Heart Rocked it yet again!

    by elle13 on 2011-02-14Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

I never get tired of seeing the Wilson sisters in concert.. Anne as usual has such a powerful and amazing voice...its surreal! Great venue too... not a bad seat in the house.. sound was amazing. and of course.. 2 thumbs up for 2 encores.. i absolutely loved it and would go again. My only complaint was the opening act... extremely disappointing.. i'd put the act at the level of a street performer.. certainly not someone who should open for such a icon of a band like Heart. She played the same notes, hit the same pitches, i couldnt tell one song from another.. WHAT WAS HEART THINKING HIRING HER!! opening act - minus 2... HEART... PLUS 10!!

  • Heart brought down the House!!

    by Kat777 on 2011-02-14Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Heart was fantastic. The last time I saw them was in 1980 at the CNE when they were They were just as good as the they were 31 years ago. Wow can Nancy sing!! I could not believe how perfect and effortless her singing was. And her sister Ann can really rock the guitar like she did all those years ago. Would go see them again for sure!!

  • Heart was excellent

    by Concertaholic1 on 2011-02-14Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I thoroughly enjoyed this show at Massey Hall. The voice of Ann Wilson was powerful and beautiful. The encore of Led Zeppelin What is and What should Be ... was amazing followed by the Who to rock out in style. Nancy Wilson was a joy to watch also and it was obvious she was having a great time. Great band to support. All in all a real treat of a show.

  • Heart was well............

by Melv on 2011-02-14Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

I hadn't seen Heart since the 70s so thought they'd still be great as I'd got into them as a direct result of Grace Slick quitting Jefferson Starship and was looking for another great girl singer -- Ann Wilson was all that. That first album was great too as were the early live shows. So I was hoping this homecoming event would be just as great too. I was surprised when the PA suddenly turned up the volume for the forgettable tunes being pumped out and played Pink Floyd's "Another Brick", The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again", and two Beatles raves "Revolution" and "Back in the USSR". Why did they chose to follow those masterpieces on stage? They should have kept the other forgettable tunes so they'd seem great by comparison. But they didn't. They also didn't give the guitarist the chance to do other than replay the album cut solos either even on the old classics so the show finished in just over 80 minutes which in these days of elevated ticket prices is a bit much particularly when the entire middle section was turned over to 5 or 6 new songs. Another rant here -- why do old bands that reunite think that the middle aged fans who pay $90 to watch them want other than a greatest hits show? And then why oh why do they do 2 encores, both covers. OK one was a LZ tune which they always do but the other was The Who's "Love reign over me". They did it fine but I wanted to hear the back catalogue not the covers. The final "Dreamboat Annie" was lovely of course as was Ann's voice throughout so there were some things to be happy about. I'll just quietly close the book on Heart now and remember the 70s band of the same name.

  • HEART WAS INCREDIBLE AS ALWAYS!!

by Peekie on 2011-02-14Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Heart was fantastic!! Massey Hall is an incredible venue to watch a concert. I couldn't believe how close we were to the stage. The concert was great; including 2 encores they played almost 2 hours. It would have been nice to hear a few more songs but we were still happy. The only beef we had was we waited outside for 1 hour in the cold (-30 C) to meet them as my daughter is 13 and plays guitar and Nancy is her Idol. The security guards told people to get out stuff for them to sign and they will be out. Well they came out, smiled said thank you and walked onto the bus (all within 5 seconds). My daughter was devastated. If they aren't interested in meeting anybody outside they should tell the guards to tell the people know so we don't wait for them for nothing. (It was however -30C so in a way I couldn't blame them but the guards made it sound like they would stop).

  • ANN WILSON ROCKS!

Wow 2 hours of mind blowing sound. The girls can still bring it.Highlight of the night was ALONE,standing "O" .This was my 20th HEART concert and it was just as great as the first.Ann's voice has gottin better with age, trust me!

  • Heart has stood the test of time

by Blademaster on 2011-02-14Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Heart played an energetic and skillful show in Toronto on Friday night. Singer Anne Wilson sang the same energy and emotion that appeared on their recordings over their career. Her tone and intonation was superb - she never missed a note. Guitarist Nancy Wilson was equally timeless and skilled as a musician, coming off a little more shy on the microphone than her sister but still very charming. The rest of the band was as good as on any recordings, even without the widardry of their former guitar player Roger Fisher.

It was more than I expected, as this was my first time seeing them live. Definitely would see them again if given the opportunity.
