Honeymoon Suite still rocks. Guitariste is amazing!
I think I was a little surprised at just how many hits Honeymoon Suite has actually had - and they did them all. New Girl Now, Burning in Love, Feel It Again, Love Changes Everything. The attendees were fans and knew all the words to the hits and sang along, with much encouragement by the band. There was lots of interplay with the audience as well, with members coming down and singing/playing among them - one of the benefits of a more mature venue. P.S. Drinks are only available in the lobby at the beginning of the show. By the middle or so they are breaking down the bars. Also, drinks are not allowed in the seats and must be consumed outside the doors.
Great show both bands rocked. Honeymoon suite was way better than i remembered.
Great venue, band looked like they were having fun, high marks for the venue and staff.
Great audience involvement. Sound needed some adjusting, bass was way off (distorted)....
Was looking forward to this concert. The sound was awful. The vocals were totally lost to the instrumentals and sound was totally distorted.
This is our second time seeing Honeymoon Suite at Club Regent. While we love the band's music and the setlist was awesome, the sound quality was terrible. It was loud for the sake of being loud. This made everything sound distorted and took away from the overall experience. While I understand that a certain amount of volume is needed for concerts, it was not at a mixable level for this show. The songs were barely recognizable and the lyrics where buried under the music. One has to keep in mind the audience demographic for concerts like this. They are people who grew up in the 80s and are in their late 40s to early 60s. I still crank the volume on a good tune, but if it hampers the quality, you got to dial it back a bit. Also, almost directly above our seats was a lighting fixture that practically blinded us every time it lit up. I'm not sure if this is part of the venue's lighting system or something the band put in, but we found it very distracting. There is enough of a light show coming from the stage, these lights were not necessary. Overall not a bad show, but it could have been better.
My husband and I purchased our tickets as a Valentine's Day gift to each other. What a perfect night it was for us! We had great seats and were able to join the mosh pit, if we wanted. The boys sounded great! The solo each of the guys did was solid. Pete really tore up his keyboard, Gary was incredible on his drums, and Derry really made sure we all knew that he is still a lead guitarist to contend with, on his signature "tire tracks" axe. To meet the guys afterwards at the "meet and greet", was wonderful too. They still know how to make the fans feel like they're important and a major part of their musical journey.
They sucked singer only sang every third word in the first song.He seemed out of it then turned the speakers up so it was all distorted second time i went to see them wont go again i left in the middle of it.
While I like the band and it was great to see them play I had only one issue. Why does it have to be so loud? It was so loud that the sound was at times distorted. This was especially evident in Johnny Dee’s microphone which was most likely cranked up to get over the sound. Turning it down a few decibels would make it sound better and make it way more entertaining.
This was a great concert!! They sounded just like they did years ago!! Great job!!
Those boys just keep getting better! I never miss a chance to attend a Honeymoon Suite concert. Bring on the new stuff...and keep playing the classics!
Good to see the 'Suite' again...music was very good, an enjoyable evening.
Honeymoon Suite was awesome they were energetic even though the venue had an issue with the heat (it was so hot in there) they still played and entertained us all.
Our seats were awesome would have been nice to be a little closer to the stage. We were in row 4 the band was so awesome they put on an amazing show we had a great time and we will be going again next year.
These guys were amazing! Awesome Canadian Band! I loved their music from the early 1980's. They played all their biggest hits and more, playing for nearly 2hrs! They so played to the crowd and even though the stage at the Deerfoot Casino is small they bounced all around as if it was still 1984! Their music sounds so great live, I was centre stage third row, which just added to the event making it that much more personable. They are bringing out a new album, so looking forward to hearing some new music and they said they will be back in 2017 and I will be there!
Many great songs to sing along to and Johnny was on his game he seemed to be really enjoying himself which makes a big difference for the audience. The rest of the band was awesome as well, Derry is the man!
Band was good. Enjoyed show. We wandered around the casino before - nothing special to draw us in again, tables are inexpensive but drinks are very overpriced. We'd certainly return for a show
The performance was awesome!!!! It was great to actually see the band members up close and to be able to receive autographs on the purchased photo of the band. I thought having the concert at Century Casino was the perfect venue. I would definitely see other favorite bands in the future and to be able to sit, stand and dance to every song that was played. An unforgettable concert and finally a simple black shirt with the band name on it is what I was looking for. Thanks for a great time and being able to meet a couple that was sitting at the table to enjoy this event.
The concert was good, Haywire was hilarious but when Honeymoon Suite came out you can tell they were more "polished" . Guitar solo could've been shorter, went on for too long. Location: Club Regent really should've removed advertising billboards on each side of the stage a lot sooner than they did. It was bright lights and just distracting advertisements for no reason, that or they should've put a stream to see the bands up close.
