Both bands put on a great concert!! Honeymoon Suite had more hits in the past and they knew how to play them all at the concert!!! Lead singer for Haywire has got a great sense of humor! Both bands were genuinely appreciative of the crowd!
Haywire was very entertaining and their music is awesome. Honeymoon Suite was not entertaining. They took way too many breaks. We had to listen to two guitar solo's and one keyboard solo. My ears were screaming after that. Never even stayed to the end. Got up and left during the second guitar solo.
Haywire was fantastic. Honeymoon Suite was good but too loud
While they certainly looked different, Haywire sounded exactly the same as they did 30 yrs ago. They were fantastic. Very personable, played to the crowd. We loved it! They were a BucketList band, and we're really happy we've seen them. We hope to see them again!!! Third time seeing Honeymoon Suite and they were good too. Haywire blew them out of the water tho. Venue was good, no line ups for drinks or washrooms!
I wasn't quite sure what to expect from Honeymoon Suite since some of the bands from the 80's+ don't always translate very well to today's scene. Well, these guys blew me away.....awesome.....Derry Grehan still plays an amazing guitar and Johnny Dee can still sing a great tune.....they look like they're really have a good time on stage and did a really good job of playing to the audience. I don't know how often they tour, but would definitely see them again! great concert. As a footnote, we stayed at the Sheraton across the street and ran in to Johnny Dee and the lead bass player the next morning, we thanked them for a great concert and both were very accommodating to talk to....all in all....amazing!
Sound as good or better than they did in the 1980's. They love the smaller crowds.
Second time I have seen them perform. They sound the same as they do on the radio! EXCELLENT! Played all of their hits! So nice to see a band and know everything song(except 1) They also play as if they are enjoying themselves! Thanks again for a great show !!!!!
I truly enjoyed the evening of Lee Aaron opening for Honeymoon Suite! Love these Canadian icons! Great concert, lots of energy, great vocals and live music! Worth making the effort for the night out! I hadn't seen either of these bands since 1987-1990
High energy show - great entertainment and performances! Amazing musicianship!
HS never disappoints! They have great energy and play most of their hit songs. The only ones I wished they played was Lethal Weapon and Racing after Midnight.
I was a little sceptical at first. My husband bought tickets and I wasn't really looking forward to going but after their first song I was pleasantly surprised and very glad I went. Great show.
Lee Aaron was awesome. Honeymoon Suite looked like they just showed up and expected that to be enough. At least make an attempt to sing Johnnie. He looked like he just crawled out of bed. Good grief. I left after a few songs because their performance was a joke.
I always make it a point to see Honeymoon Suite every time they come to Vancouver, and when I saw them last time a few years back when they played with Prism, they were great! This time, now playing with Streetheart, whom I've always wanted to see, I was particularly pumped to see the show and even treated my friend to the event for her birthday. Streetheart did not disappoint! Kenny Shields sounds as good as he did in the 70s!! Don't know how he does it!! Honeymoon Suite was a different story. I'm a particularly huge fan of Derry Grehan, the lead guitarist, but had no idea until that night how key a member of this band he is!! Derry had to leave the tour as his wife was in the hospital (I really hope she's getting better!) and he was temporarily replaced by a great guitarist, but couldn't really do the back-up vocals. Give him an A for effort, though! I know he helped out in a pinch. Johnnie Dee really surprised me. He looked like he just came back from a month-long bender and hadn't slept in weeks. He seemed like he was barely keeping it together, going off the stage frequently, only to leave the rest of his band members to cover him with solos (another drum solo, keyboard solo, guitar solo...) Not sure what was going on there... and that poor roadie that was out giving him water and grabbing/giving Johnnie Dee his guitar frequently throughout the show... man, he should get a raise! Anyway, that's my 20 cents +. I never thought I'd say this but I think that was my last HS show. Sorry it didn't work out, guys!! Maybe it's time to call it a day!
the venue was great. good set up with the tables, etc...could have had more bar tenders on where the tables were set up. STREETHEART should have been the main band, not the opener to the band. they were awesome. still had the moves, the sound, everything. on the other hand, Honeymoon Suite, we left half way through. sound wasn't good, the band was obviously having issues of some sort, whether as a whole or individually. it's like they were trying to top STREETHEART, and doing a very poor job of it. Streetheart could have played for 3 hours, all on their own, too bad they didn't. they did come back for encore and play 4 more songs
Was a great night of entertainment. Grew up listening to Lee Aaron and Honeymoon Suite. played a lot of their songs with my band. Could not wait to see them. Both acts were absolutely fantastic. Sound was good...depends I guess where you sat. I would go see them again in a heartbeat. You also have a chance to meet the bands. Great time!
Thoroughly enjoyed. Buffet was really good. Both bands played the songs is was hoping for.
I took my new gf to this concert one I have seen many times. Trying to get her to see my kind of music. She loved it!
Had a great time at Honeymoon Suite and Prism concert. Actually preferred Prism. Honeymoon Suite did alot of talking but did perform their best songs also. Well worth the price!
OK, not my first time seeing Honeymoon Suite and every time I would say that they rocked and you should get off your butt and go see them. They really seemed to have a great time even though there were a lot of technical difficulties. Go see them next time they are here you won't forget it.
