Such a great Night. Men without Hats has an incredible stage present!!! Honeymoon Suite had an amazing show too!! Thanks for the great night!!
This is not a huge venue, so the volume was WAY too loud, especially for the Spoons and Honeymoon Suite! It seems the volume was reasonable for Men Without Hats and A Flock of Seagulls. Aside from that, great show!
Loved the show, The Spoons killed it and were my favourite and in my opinion should NOT go first in the line-up! Generally great vibe in the show overall from all performers, and Men Without Hats were so entertaining and energetic as well. Honeymoon Suite has such a large catalogue and so many hits - yet they spent too much time off-stage while various members inexplicably played long solos - not sure what was up with that. Something was off - maybe too much "celebrating"before they played....so was somewhat disappointed in their performance and was not expecting that since they are a favourite Canadian band of mine. A LOT of people started to leave before they were finished so I think many others felt the same disappointment. Do better!
The 80s Club revue at TD Place was electric - everyone on their feet. Every band were sounding just as good as when their LPs came out. Favorite was Honeymoon Suite - really got the vibe that they were so thankful to be out performing and loving every note. We would see them again anytime
Saw them with Spoons, men without hats, and flock of seaguls. Volume good with first two bands then got uncomforttably loud. Seen many concerts lately though with this one wish I had brought ear plugs.
The night was awesome. I sang and danced the night away. I wished it could have lasted longer. It brought me back to my clubbing days when a bunch of friends got together to have a few drinks and dance all night. It was a lot of fun and a great way to get exercise. Sad today's generation will not be able to experience it. I would love it if more events like this were offered.
Words are not enough to bring this experience to people reading, Thank you to HMS for bringing myself and my wife back, like we were 16 again. The entire show was beyond outstanding!!! I seen everyone, like in high school, living in the moment not caring about who heard them or seen them. I don't think that it would be a stretch to say that this was an event that gave a lot of people life again. Thank you to all.
All 4 bands were great, always a soft spot for the Spoons. Men Without Hats - I hadn’t seen Ivan live in my youth and he is still incredible … that voice wow!! Honeymoon Suite you ended the show off great!!
Excellent concert. Great vibe. Brought me back to the 80s. All musicians were on point. Thoroughly enjoyed. Thankyou!
Although there was only an hour per bad, they managed to get their hits in on time. Good crowd of older folks and some younger folks too which was just amazing, they knew the words and sang along but us older crowd just sat and took it in. If only to be young again back in the 80s. Fabulous times that was. Need more of this, bring back the 80s and 90s! music now a days just isn't the same. So much innovation with punk, new wave, leading into grunge, house, industrial etc... its all an evolution. I hope music continues on. Making our right and left hemispheres dance in conjunction. Its all fabulous stuff. Go see we need more!
Time Machine to my youth.Super fun.Amazing .The band was soooo good.Every member amazing..Come again soon.We love you Honeymoon Suite!
Jumped in a time machine and went back to 80s when bands played...well, music. Spoons, Men Without Hats with their bangers (Safety Dance and Pop Goes the World). Loved Honeymoon Suite though. They played hit after hit after hit. New Girl Now. Stay in the Light. And my all-time favourite, Wave Babies. Felt like I was in my high school gym. And I didn't forget you Flock of Seagulls. Great night. Got to do it again!!
I go and see honeymoon suite whenever I can. They were my first rock concert. Played my high school. They never disappoint
Spoons and Men without Hats were the highlights of the night. Flock of Seagulls were just OK, Honeymoon Sweet should have stayed home.
Amazing, great audio-visual experience. All the hits played. Great venue. 1st time there. Luved it. Be back!
Was super pumped to be seeing HMS live, one of my favourite 80s bands. Am giving only a 3 because of what I consider technical difficulties. I'm no expert, but seemed to me like the speakers were blown even before the band got into it. Really bad distortion, to the point that I had to stand as far back from the stage as possible. Lighting was not great either, too much on the audience, not enough on the band! I mean, these guys are really great, but time to get a new road crew, they deserve better tech than what they had, the sound was less than stellar.
The History club is a great venue. The 80's club event was a lot of fun. The Spoons were excellent. Men Without Hats were good as always. Ivan is a great front man dancing around the stage bringing lots of energy to the songs. The Flock of Seagulls were a major disappointment. The singer was bad. The sound was not mixed right. The guitar was turned down when it should have been louder as on the albums. Honeymoon Suite blew the roof off the house! Great vocals and great guitar playing. They sounded just as good as they did in the 80's. Honeymoon Suite is a great Canadian rock band. Everyone should go seem them play while they are still around.
Fabulous night. Thanks for a great time and more memories.
All four bands were fantastic. Everyone of them brought their own special energy to the concert. The venue had a great layout. Love how Spoons always take the time for meet and greets with their fans. Wish that was an option with all the bands after the shows.
Had a blast at the Eighties concert, Spoons and Men Without Hats brought fantastic energy and sounded fantastic! Honeymoon Suite definitely made the night cranking out all of their hits. Flock of Seagulls was a little flat, a times you couldn’t hear the vocals over the music. Hamilton Place is getting super dated, same decor for the last 1/4 century and is stuck in the 70’s as far as venues go. Sound as always was fantastic but c’mon Hamilton, invest some money in your facilities.
