About

Hootie & the Blowfish formed in South Carolina between four college friends in 1986. After landing on their permanent lineup of guitarist and vocalist Darius Rucker, guitarist Mark Bryan, bassist Dean Felber, and drummer Jim “Soni” Sonefeld, the group released their debut album Cracked Rear View in 1995. The album became a smash hit behind three Top 10 singles, “Hold My Hand,” "Let Her Cry" and "Only Wanna Be with You" and reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 on its way to becoming the highest selling album of 1995. Cracked Rear View, which has been certified platinum 21 times, remains one of the best-selling albums of all-time in the U.S. Hootie & the Blowfish won two Grammys, including Best New Artist, in 1996 and released their sophomore effort Fairweather Johnson later that year, marking their second No. 1 debut. Beginning in 2008, the band went on hiatus while Rucker pursued a solo career in country music, and reunited in 2019 for their sixth album, Imperfect Circle

This was a great concert from stay to finish. So many wonderful moments from the campfire session, to the Zeppelin tribute, and of course all the hits. Darius et al are not only wonderful musicians but also entertainers. The vibe was fun and joyful and well worth the trip to Toronto

by ScottyB on 2024-09-10Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Hootie was excellent. Band sounded crisp as they played all their hits and they mixed in a few cover songs as well. Very good show. And Collective Soul were excellent as well.

Great venue. Grass was a bit of a mess but did not interfere with the experience. Been to the venue many times in both seats and in grass. Never disappoints.

  • Excellent customer service

    by Christine M on 2024-09-10Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I will start by saying Hootie and the performances were great, Budweiser Stage is my favorite venue. But what really stands out for me this time is the fact that I accidentally purchased eleven upgrades for this show, It took me 7 hours and a lot of help from many of your customer service representatives and I.T. department and everything else. But the reassurance in which everyone finally gave me that I was getting my refund for accidentally purchasing those upgrades was amazing and I can't say enough good things sbout those who actually helped me get this resolved.

  • Great show by all the bands!

    by ... on 2024-09-10Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

These bands still got it after 30 plus years! A great evening of music.

  • Bootie & The Blowfish with BNL

by BT on 2019-09-06Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

We loved the concert and both Hootie & The Blowfish and Bare Naked Ladies knocked it out of the park! 10+ rating from us and we’d see them both again! Budweiser stage is an awesome venue but the concessions need to be more accommodating with snacks. Nothing Gluten Free other than popcorn! Other than that, fantastic night out!!!!

  • First time

by Jo on 2019-09-02Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

This was my first time at Budweiser stage. Hootie were very good. The drinks are very expensive. Signage to find washrooms wasn’t great. Open air experience was good except for all the smoking it allowed. I came out stinking of marijuana.

  • Amazing once we finally arrived

by Rhonsy on 2019-09-01Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

Hootie concert was absolutely awesome. Band was on point...crowd was good! However it took 2 hours to try and park and it was a 20 minute walk once parking was found far away. Ontario place should have had priority parking for concert goers to ensure a positive experience. I am sad I missed barenaked ladies opening but am so happy i made it to hear my wedding song by hootie. Would go see hootie again!

  • Hootie and the blowfish/Bare naked ladies

Absolutely fantastic concert! Ladies were fantastic, Hootie were fantastic and even sang some of Darius’s own songs!!! They obviously enjoy each other’s company as they were funny and entertaining as well as great performances!!
