About

Hootie & the Blowfish formed in South Carolina between four college friends in 1986. After landing on their permanent lineup of guitarist and vocalist Darius Rucker, guitarist Mark Bryan, bassist Dean Felber, and drummer Jim “Soni” Sonefeld, the group released their debut album Cracked Rear View in 1995. The album became a smash hit behind three Top 10 singles, “Hold My Hand,” "Let Her Cry" and "Only Wanna Be with You" and reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 on its way to becoming the highest selling album of 1995. Cracked Rear View, which has been certified platinum 21 times, remains one of the best-selling albums of all-time in the U.S. Hootie & the Blowfish won two Grammys, including Best New Artist, in 1996 and released their sophomore effort Fairweather Johnson later that year, marking their second No. 1 debut. Beginning in 2008, the band went on hiatus while Rucker pursued a solo career in country music, and reunited in 2019 for their sixth album, Imperfect Circle

Concert was great. Just wish there was better signs that would say where to park. We are from out of town. Wasted two hours with parking. Very disappointed

  • Love Hootie

by Micole on 2019-09-01Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Was what was expected and more. Not only was energy high in the huge crowd but everyone was just so happy to be there. No frustration with slow moving lines. People were just taking and laughing with strangers. That's the mood Hootie music instills in people. Fantastic music and total crowd participation. And Barenaked ladies were a huge treat. Loved that too. Wonderful world needs to be released on you tube. Even when the show was done the slow moving crowd was singing loud to the music being played. Beautiful all round. Thank you Hootie. Love you guys.

  • Best concert ever!

Budweiser Stage has improved in so many areas!! The food vendors have stepped up their game, improving the quality and variety of food. The staff throughout the venue, as always, are so friendly and extremely helpful and professional. I wouldn’t hesitate to attend another concert there.

  • Awesome Show! Totally entertained throughout!

The Barenaked ladies were great! Enjoyed their music and commentary! Hootie and the Blowfish picked up where they left off! Budweiser Stage is a great environment for the concert! Maybe a shorter intermission but it was an awesome night!

  • Great show, very entertaining!

    by Redkayak77 on 2019-09-01Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Barenaked Ladies were so fun as the opener, got the crowd right into it. Darius Rucker is a great entertainer and had a talented band behind him. Excellent mix of pop and country, they played both Hootie hits and his solo ones. Very enjoyable show from start to finish.

  • Little Bit of Rock Lots of Country

by Kelly on 2019-09-01Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

The reason I purchased tickets was to see The Barenaked Ladies which were awesome however getting to see Hootie & The Blowfish was a bonus. I'm familiar with their older songs which I really like however not a country music fan. Also, it would be great for those who have front row seats in Section 400 to SIT DOWN in their seats so that other fans behind can see the show; drop your self entitlement attitude and all about me, we all pay to see the concert it's not a private show for yourself.

Fantastic evening with not 1 but 2 exceptional bands. Everyone was up dancing and singing to a wam beat. \The time went so fast it was over before we knew it. And to say that my husband didn't want to go. He had the best time ever. What a way to end the summer as far as events go. Budweiser Stage is our favourite venue to go to. \we went to 3 concerts this summer and this one was by far the best.....

  • Go to this show!

Loved every second of this concert. Hootie and he Blowfish loved playing in their hometown and their hometown crowd loved them. Worth getting tickets to even all the way from Canada!
