Hozier is one of the most successful folk artists of the 21st century. Born Andrew Hozier-Byrne, the Irish singer-songwriter first toured internationally as a member of the Irish vocal group Anúna before going solo in 2012. His watershed moment came a year later when his first single, “Take Me to Church” was released. In 2014, it rose to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and ushered in Hozier’s self-titled debut, which itself reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200. “Take Me to Church” closed 2014 as Spotify’s most-shared song of the year and garnered Hozier’s first career Grammy nomination for Song of the Year. His 2019 sophomore full-length, Wasteland Baby!, topped the Billboard 200 and was supported by Hozier’s first solo headlining world tour. In 2023, Hozier released his third album, Unreal Unearth. Throughout his career, Hozier has collaborated with artists such as Mavis Staples, Annie Lennox, Maren Morris, Noah Kahan, Brandi Carlile and composer Bear McCreary.

This man has so much power and soul and his voice! I still can’t believe I saw him at such a small venue!!
Hozier put on an incredible show! I have been waiting for the opportunity to see them and they did not disappoint.
Amazing show! Hozier is a force on stage. His band and the energy were like no other!
He was absolutely amazing. It was truly an ethereal experience. If you can get tickets 100% go. You won’t regret it!
He was so good and sang an unreleased song like would go again
Hozier is so talented!! Such a fun show! He’s so tall and his voice is so angelic and ethereal!!
it's danforth music hall: the floor is designed to cause your feet immense pain after 5 minutes of standing. regardless, hozier was so great—and you know it was great because i saw a glimpse of myself in a window afterwards, and i had sweated/cried all my makeup off. would publicly boo the queen of england with hozier again.
A concert I'll never forget. Incredible performance!
Great views from the Mezzanine, awesome acoustics as well. Line was incredibly long to get in, but well managed.
great seats, drinks steps away and Hozier was amazing
First time seeing Hozier and cannot wait to see him again. An hour and half that went by too quickly. Superb band and background singers. Great visuals and chilling vocals. Definitely recommend seeing him even if you may only know a couple of songs.
Hozier was great, such a wonderful performer, as was his band. But the sound quality in the UBC arena was terrible. Did not do him justice at all
One of the best concerts I've ever been to, the backdrop of animations and footage behind the band really amplified the meaning of the songs, and Hozier seemed to be having a good time. He also seemed genuinely appreciative of his bandmates and the crowd, which is great. I did feel like the sound was a touch too loud, it was almost painful and I noticed some people around us felt that way as well.
Hozier and band were amazing as usual but I've never been to a concert with such poor acoustics. The echo was unbearable especially during the slower songs. It was so distracting and really took from the experience. Have seen Hozier many times and was very disappointed to be let down by the venue.
Immersive I loved it I wanted to chant “hozier, hozier” for 500 years
What an absolutely wonderful show! Great atmosphere, played a good range from both albums, and his band is fantastic.
That was such an amazing show! My soul is fed 😊 Sound was incredible, great crowd. Hardly anyone had phones out at this concert, which was really nice for a change. In my opinion, cold hard seats in this venue didn't suit the warm and soulful performance, but that's the only knock i have on it.
Hozier cannot put on a bad concert!!!!!!! We LOVE him! We saw him at the Orpheum last time, which had a much more acoustic vibe to it. At the Thunderbird it was more light show, and rocking down the house! We were enthralled with the whole evening, and how organized the event was. Seamless parking, helpful and friendly staff. Leaving the event was so well planned we were home to New Westminster in 1/2 hour from UBC! Kudos to the event planners. Made a PERFECT concert night with HOZIER even better with no hassles. What a phenomenal evening.
I flew in from Edmonton to see this show in Vancouver, and absolutely loved Hozier's performance. His band is fantastic as well. The UBC Thunderbird Arena left a little to be desired; it's a smaller venue (which made for an intimate-feeling performance) but it's also clearly run on a university budget. The lighting was very basic and the sound mixing seemed to be a bit off as there were times when the vocals were nearly completely drowned out by the band. The acoustics in the arena may have also contributed to this - you could frequently hear the percussive notes and hand clapping reverberating off the back of the stadium. All in all though, tickets were well-priced for good seats and Hozier's incredible voice and lyrics (and showcase of a new song!) made the whole trip worth it. Rating 4 stars only because of the venue's sound quality issues.
