Wasn't really sure what to expect but what a great show! Janelle Monae and her band and dancers put on an amazing, energetic, inspiring performance, based mostly around her latest album's tracks. A wonderful show and a performer and artist not to be missed! The crowd was one of the loudest I can remember, and one of the most diverse in every demographic.

Janelle Monae is a queen. Everything about this show was amazing - the opening act, the stage set up, the band, the choreography, her vocals, her performance, her dances, her costumes, her energy, her generosity to the audience. I was a bit miffed at the cost of tickets initially but it was totally worth it and I would see Janelle Monae again in a heartbeat. Feels really lucky to have been able to witness her magic.

Lots of great music, dancing, getting low. Great stage setup - black + white theme. Loved it. Choreography best I have seen. Venue allowed for being able to feel apart of what was taking place on stage.
The show was excellent . She must be inspired by james brown but i did not like the long transistion before the janelle came on the stage. 1hour is too much after the first artist finished.
Well worth the price of admission. She is really talented & belted out all the songs I wanted to hear & more. She is a true crowd pleaser. Only negative thing I can say is that they couldn't seem to mix the sound just right for her very powerful voice. A little more clarity when the songs got really intense would have been preferred. That being said I was totally happy to be there & see her performance, she is a rising star to be sure.
This was a concert of epic proportions considering the small price tag at $35. It's rare to find concerts that affordable nowadays and to not only get an opening act, but a full 2 hr performance from the featured artist with not one but two encores. I brought my teenaged sister and this was her first concert. Boy was she blown away. She got confetti, stage diving, seeing Janelle up-close as she walked through the audience and a highly energetic, dynamic performance. Best concert I have seen in a while from a very talented artist who clearly appreciates her fans and gives her all. Bravo Janelle!
I saw Jack White perform, and that was the best show I'd ever seen. Then I saw Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, and that was mindblowing as well. Then I saw Janelle Monae, and.... wow. Just.... wow. The attention to detail on the costume, set design, and production of the show - including all of its theatrics - from start to finish were flawless. The energy and showmanship were incredible. Her talent is out of this world. It was, by far, the best show I've ever seen. I absolutely have to see her again.
I've been to fun concerts, boring concerts, weird ones, but Janelle Monáe was probably the most exciting and expressive concert I've ever been to. Some artists try to give a shout out to a special issue that's close to their heart and I'm not saying that it's not a good thing, but Janelle Monáe's was one of the most real concerts and performances I've ever witnessed. She's absolutely raw and true to what she says in the media and her music. Her performance was by far, the best one I've ever seen. I will ALWAYS go to her shows when she comes to town.
Don't expect to stand still when you see Janelle Monae; and you should see her. Admittedly, I don't love all of Monae's music... but had heard good things about her live, so we went - and she was amazing. She was a ball of energy & never stopped dancing, and her voice is underrated; she hit some mega notes & left me truly impressed. The audience was surprisingly diverse, from kids to adults - and everyone really got into the show, even kneeling to the floor at the singer's request and later sending her crowd surfing over our heads. It was super fun show, and I couldn't recommend her enough.
Would calling Janelle Monae the overall best female performer I've ever seen be overselling it?!! The stage presence, the dancing and that voice. I truly did not want the show to end. Janelle rocked the crowd. I've read many reviews on her shows and I don't think its possible to express what an amazing show Ms Monae puts on.
Holy moly, she was amazing! Her energy and raw talent had me dancing for the entire show!
