Jann Arden was perfection…funny, authentic, honest, entertaining…with a voice and songbook that spoke to your heart and memories.
Jann continues to be the loveliest, humblest funny woman. She also adds a good amount of spiritual conscience to her audience. I am a fan and have been for years. Keep up the wonderful work Jann, I felt changed after the evening in ways I cannot describe.
Best Jann ever! Incredible energy! Amazing song choices! Uplifting! Entertaining! Exactly what the world needs in this moment!
Great music. Enjoyable evening. Only complaint is no centre aisle in concert hall. Makes for difficult access to and from your seats.
Jann and her band were just amazing as usual. The size of the theatre is perfect, and the acoustics were great, but the seating poses a bit of a challenge, given that there is no centre aisle for you to get out of your seat.
I am a devout Jann Arden fan and this last concert marked my 17th time attending a live show. This show easily ranks in my top 3 of all time. It was so nice to hear the music from the 90s that made me fall in love with Jann, and her vocals never miss the mark. I'm so happy I was able to attend and now am eager to attend her Christmas show this year.
Great night of entertainment by Jann Arden and band
As always, Jann was terrific! Great to hear many of her old songs, and the stories behind them. And "costume changes"this show too! Looking great and sounding great. Never disappoints!
Jann is a Canadian icon, sang her heart out, can still hold her notes and then some. She was charming and interactive with the audience. If you can see her live, do so. You won't be disappointed.
Great show, as always! Over two hours with no intermission.
As a Jann Arden fan of 63 years...her Mixtape Concert this year was fantastic. From opening song to closing song - all fantastic hits! Jann is a solid performer offering a 2 hour concert without a break! If you've never been - highly recommend you attend! Great job Jann! Attended Hamilton's show as it was a friends' 68th birthday!
Jann is still the best music show out there she's funny and witty and real She's one of us Smiling all the way through and even a little melancholy with some songs will go to see her again and again
I have been a Jann Arden fan since the very beginning and saw her for the first time in a high school auditorium. And have been to every concert she has played in Moncton NB. And this show was the best out of all the shows I have gone to. Jann was entertaining, comical, and a strong voice in the crowd. She played 4-5 songs off her new MIXTAPE album; the rest was from her three 1990's albums. The crowd was alive, the band was on point. The way the songs were arranged in a certain order kept the momentum going. It is truly a tour you don't want to miss. I mean, I have loved all of Jann's shows. And I almost didn't go to this one since I have seen her so many times. I am really glad I went, as this was the best one yet, and at 63 years old, Jann is better than ever! A must-see show for all Jann Arden Fans!!
Great show! No opener, no intermission, she is a rock star!!
ann Arden is a legendary Canadian performer. She has been on our list to see for some time. With the Mix Tape Tour, we finally got to see her in our own terra firma. Arden is known for her mixture of showmanship vocal talent and humor. She delivered in every regard. My review follows below. Opening by "Miss You"by "Everything But the Girl", Arden began her love letter to the 90s with a few other flourishes. Her voice was pristine, carrying effortlessly throughout the Scotia Bank Centre. She would follow with one of music's greatest anthems, Don Henley's "Boys of Summer"which she delivered beautifully. Arden would continue with her own material throughout the concert featuring her greatest hits and deep cuts, along with her origin stories for many of the songs. She is wryly funny by times outright hilarious. Her tales of rejection for her initial signing were without bitterness. Her inclusion of the reason why she was signed was funny as hell. The rest as they say is legend. Arden does not take herself too seriously. Her speaking of appearing at Farm Aid early in her career is classic Arden. Her later declaration of seeing herself appear on "One Hit Wonders"on Much Music after her monster hit "Insensitive"is self deprecating yet sincere. Her talk of her family is emotionally earnest and carries through her music. The two highest points of cover tunes were her superb version of Joan Osbourne's "One of Us"by Joan Osbourne and a vocally challenging spot on rendition of Seal's break out hit "Crazy". Her version of Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game"was prefaced by her story of touring with him along with the caveat that countless pregnancies occurred due to this song and the sizzling sex appeal of Isaak. Her version was good but to be completely honest, no one save Isaak should sing this song. Still, it was solid. Her medley of hits got people up and Arden maintained a powerful, pure energy throughout her two hour show. Her band was tight with many of its members working with her for two to three decades. The guitarist Russell Broom was smooth and punctuated her performance perfectly, not hammering out a seas of solos instead opting for smooth rhythms and occasional flurries. Kenny Aronoff framed her sound tightly with his percussion and the group had an easy back and forth stemming from years of collaboration and Arden's cool been there done that vibe. The capper of "Good Mother"eased the audience into a sweet farewell in what was a beautiful evening with many beautiful sounds. Arden's advocacy to stand up for those who cannot stand for themselves rang true reflecting her personal brand and humanistic beliefs. This show delivered and Arden is a must see for any true Canadian.
Jann Arden always puts on an entertaining emotional show with gorgeous songs and vocals. The seats at Scotiabank centre were very surprisingly small and uncomfortable for a 5'4"person. I felt for other taller more impacted folks
She was funny, direct and in perfect voice. It was my 2nd time seeing her, the last time with Rick Mercer.
Jann is so adept at taking the audience on a trip into the past with her personal stories and her music lyrics also telling stories that touch the listener to the soul. Jann’s has the ability to look at the negatives of her life and put it to words that speak to us all. At the end she fired up the audience with our love of 🇨🇦. Jann also made two old gals very happy when she put her hand in our, a wonderful gesture 😊
My sister and I went to this concert together. It was an awesome evening. Jan did not disappoint!! I thoroughly enjoyed her singing and her humor. Fantastic show!!
Jann put on an amazing show. We had amazing seats.
