Amazing concert. Words can't express the unique sound, technique and approach of Jeff Beck's guitar playing, so I won't try. Excellent concert and excellent band (including Prince's former bass player). See him when you have a chance!
He was amazing...i had never seen him in concert b4. Really a great guitarist, not much singing at all, mostly instrumental, which was expected...almost all jazzy tunes from the past and some high energy rock from his new Les paul tribute. Very good indeed...
Didn't expect to get the Quality of Sound at Casino Rama however from the First note Jeff Beck delivered a evening to remember.. I was like having a opportunity to listen in on a private session with Jeff. His material set list was entertaining and will give us alot to think back on. If you were ever going to see a Guitar Legend, an Icon, this was likely the show to see. His band and in particular Rhonda Smith offered a awesome display, I've seen Victor Wooten before ,Rhonda delived a performance any Bass Fan would love. The band was perfect for Beck. Seating was fine and the Big Screens offered a close look at Becks Fret play.. Thanks for a great evening
Jeff Beck and his band were magic every song was a journy in this era of untalented superstars i felt truly blessed to be in attendance at such a great venue. Performers like this are rare. He truly is one of the greatest guitar players on earth.
Simply one of the Best Guitar Players of all time. Mr. Jeff Beck. Song after song, the band played on. He makes guitar playing look effortless. His own distinctive sound matched with Grace and Style. A pure master. This was the secound time i seen the master, and it won't be my last. Thanks Jeff Beck for a Amazing Show. Rock On:))
Jeff Beck time warped me back to the late 60's, through the 70's, to present day. Jeff always knows how to make a guitar sing. I have seen many live performances in my life, but I have to say, Jeff Beck and his band are now at the top of my favorite concerts ever. Keep on rockin' Jeff.
Jeff never fails to please with his magical touch on the guitar. The sound at Rama was better than I have ever heard. Actually felt like a real rock concert with a big bass sound. I was a little disappointed that Tal Wilkenfield wasn't with him, but her replacement Rohnda Smith was awesome, and added a nice funky feel to many of the tunes with her slapping style of playing, It was also great to hear her playing the electric upright bass which filled the hall when bowed. Jeff was in great form, and pulled of some stellar feedback which the crowd seemed oblivious to, most likely in awe. Actually the audience seemed to be mesmerized throughout the show, coming around only to provide enthusiastic applause after each song was over.
Excellent concert good sound, too loud for some of the really old farts who left early. I don't think they knew what to expect. Good song selection although I would prefer he played some more older stuff. Nothing previous to Wired was played several band members provided some vocals which was nice, thankfully Jeff did not.
concert was great. all band members were top notch too bad I could not see them we drove two and a halh hours to watch a screen
It was fabulous to see Beck play live, he truly gives his guitar an incredible voice. He is the master of harmonics and tremolo. His three Grammys this year are justly deserved. The key board player was excellent, and Beck's female bass player is outstanding. Rhonda Smith stole the show at times, anyone who was expecting to see Tal Wilfenfeld was not disappointed. I was however disappointed in the drumming, it did not compliment Beck's music. Although a good player he was more of a metal / hard rock style and lacked the finesse of Vinnie Colaiuta. Overall it was a fabulous night of music with one of the all time guitar greats!
I will never forget this performance. Jeff Beck is more than a Rock Legend and greater than a Guitar God. He is what all true musicians strive to be - humble, entertaining and inspirational. In his performance at Casino Rama, Jeff was all that in a intimate setting. He and his amazing drummer, bassist and keyboard player simply walked out onto the stage and began playing non stop.
It was a pleasure to watch & listen to this group of incredibly talented musicians.
Jeff Beck is God not Eric Clapton. (though Clapton's reference to being God was always my thought that the grafitti artists just forgot the 2nd 'O' in 'GOOD") Jeff Beck is the master of the guitar. He becomes one with the guitar. I was amazed at how he played melodies in songs like 'Over The Rainbow' by just simple bends on the same fret/string......Dynamics over the top. HIs band members lived up to his demands and he let them show off their stuff. WOW WOW WOW. Front row obstructions by a camera guy all night must have been annoying to those in those coveted seats.
Jeff Beck is an amazing artist and truly talented.
