About
Joe Avati’s comedy pulls from a melting pot of influences. The Australian-born Italian ties in aspects of his classically Italian upbringing into his humor, garnering ample support from those who can relate to his experiences and those who are happy to laugh along. Relying on his clean-yet-quick-witted humor, Avati’s work appeals to a multi-generational audience. With nearly 30 years of experience in comedy and multiple worldwide tours under his belt, Avati has applied his comedic prowess to various avenues, hosting the podcast, A Serious Chat with A Comedian and having written the children’s book, When I Was Your Age. In April 2024, Avati was named Comedian of the Year at the Annual Australian Club Entertainment Awards.

Fantastic !!
by Calabresella on 2012-11-12George Weston Recital Hall at the Toronto Centre for the Arts - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5Joe Avati and the two opening acts were excellent. My husband and I went to the show on Saturday, Nov. 10th, along with another couple and we had a wonderful time. We all could relate to the examples of Italian culture that Joe used in his performance. My husband had such a good time that by the end of the performance, his cheeks were hurting from laughing so much. Joe incorporates the modern world into his jokes so any age group would enjoy the show. I would definitely recommend this to all Italians who's families moved from Italy to another part of the world.
Joe Avati was absolutely hilarious!!!
by BrinaG on 2012-11-12George Weston Recital Hall at the Toronto Centre for the Arts - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5What a great show from beginning to end! Freddy Proia was awesome and what an amazing singing voice. Guido Grassa was just as funny. Joe Avati was great and all 3 comedians touched on all the main points about growing up in an Italian family with humour and honesty. Would definitely go and see the 3 in a show again. Thanks for the laughs.

by Comare on 2012-11-12George Weston Recital Hall at the Toronto Centre for the Arts - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5This was the best comedy show ever. The two guys before him were also funny. I laughed for the entire show .. my abs are killing me. My husband is not Italian and also had a great time. He understood most of it. Can't wait for him to come back to Toronto. Will plan on bringing lots of family and friends .. Will need a bus. Thanks for a fantastic show.
Was very funny
by dee7744 on 2012-11-12George Weston Recital Hall at the Toronto Centre for the Arts - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5The show was very funny and i was in love with Joe, his accent and everything but then when my friends were lined up to take a picture with him found him very rude like he didn't care and i thought that kind of turned me off of him a bit! But otherwise he was very entertaining all 3 of the guys! it was a good show I go again. I also thought the security manager was very nice we were sitting in the back behind the stage and he ,made a great effort to make sure we sat where we could actually see! we thought that was very nice of him!
Hilarious!

Brought me back to my childhood growing up, its like sharing an experience with an entire audience that gets it!!!! Bring kleenex because you will be crying with laughter the whole time! Bravo Joe thanks to you and your fabulous team of comedians for a superb evening.
Great Openers!
by df78 on 2012-11-11George Weston Recital Hall at the Toronto Centre for the Arts - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5I think the openers were on par with the main act this time! Joe was good as usual; he had new material but I don't think it was on par with the old stuff.
