JOHN FORD COLEY IN CONCERT:
Soft rocker John Ford Coley brings a potent blend of smile-inducing enthusiasm and sing-along melodicism to every hit-filled show he plays. As one half of England Dan & John Ford Coley, this Texas native cut his teeth with ë70s radio staples like ìLove Is the Answerî, ìWeíll Never Have to Say Goodbye Againî, and ìIíd Really Love to See You Tonightî. The sunny vibe that made these songs hits in the first place still permeates Coleyís warm and welcoming vocals, and his infectious grin is guaranteed to spread to ticket buyers. Fans that want to experience a little happiness and a whole lot of AM radio hits can count on John Ford Coley to deliver every time he takes the stage.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
John Edward Colley was born in Dallas, TX in 1948 and raised on a blend of Grand Ole Opry, roots rock and roll, and religious hymns. Colley began to perform in rock bands with high school classmate and friend Dan Seals -- the younger brother of Jim Seals of Seals & Crofts fame. After a few years playing together as a duo under the name England Dan & John Ford Coley, the pair signed a deal with A&M Records and relocated to Los Angeles in 1971. Following a few singles and a new deal with Atlantic Records, the group finally scored with the 1976 No. 2 hit ìIíd Really Love to See You Tonightî. Despite a successful five year period that saw the group notch five more Top 40 hits, they disbanded in 1980. While Coley switched his focus to acting, Seals pursued a successful country music career. Coley returned to music in the '90s and '00s to work with artists like Eddie Money, Ambrosia, and Vince Gill, and he contiunues to thrill fans with upbeat solo performances of his soft rock hits.
