John Mayer is a man of contradictions. He’s an international pop star, but also an authentic bluesman endorsed by some of the genre’s biggest legends (B.B. King, Eric Clapton). He's famous for dating some of the entertainment industry's most beautiful women, but dislikes the red carpet and lives on a ranch in Montana. Mayer is known for his hushed-acoustic sound, but has collaborated with hip-hop giants Kanye West, Common, and Frank Ocean. Among the contradictions, however, exists a through line: Mayer’s prowess as a singer-songwriter and guitarist has remained a constant, earning him 7 Grammys and over 20 million album sales worldwide. After a series of granuloma-related throat surgeries forced him to take a complete vocal break in 2012, Mayer is fully recovered and back on tour in 2013 – fans can catch him LIVE in concert in support of his sixth studio album Paradise Valley, named after the site of his new Montana home.
Throughout his career, Mayer’s high profile romances have been fodder for both the tabloids and his songwriting. Adding to speculation over his relationships, lead single “Paper Doll” from Paradise Valley is rumored to be about former flame Taylor Swift, who gave Mayer a piece of her mind in 2010 with her song “Dear John.” In a head-scratching move, the ever-sarcastic Mayer capitalized on one of the year’s biggest internet memes by enlisting the Prancercise lady (Joanna Rohrback) as the star of the official “Paper Doll” music video, keeping fans guessing as to the true meaning of the song.
Born and raised in Connecticut, Mayer took up the guitar at 13, inspired by the music of Stevie Ray Vaughn and Michael J. Fox’s epic guitar performance as Marty McFly in Back to the Future. After briefly attending Boston’s Berklee College of Music, Mayer dropped out to pursue his passion, and quickly attracted the attention of label execs with a March 2000 appearance at South By Southwest. His official 2001 debut Room For Squares went multi-platinum, and earned him his first Grammy – Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for “Your Body Is a Wonderland.” Mayer followed up in 2003 with Heavier Things, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and earned him two more Grammys, including Song of the Year for “Daughters.” 2006’s Continuum, Mayer’s third album, highlighted his blues sensibilities and landed him another Grammy, this time for Best Pop Vocal Album.

John was insane. One of the most real and genuine performers I’ve ever seen. The show was a little over 2 hours for his set alone and he didn’t skip a beat. He’s so sexy and it’s amazing watching him play
Worth every second of wait. Will definitely go again on his next tour. What a world class performer.
This is the perfect reminder for all super fans just why they are super fans of John Mayer all these years He said during the concert “this is me, i have nothing left to prove.” So true. He is pure talent. A real musician. They come so rate nowadays - real musicians. That whole night we witnessed a real musician perform. It was pure magic, raw and he commanded the stadium with him and him alone on stage. So amazing.😍
John really played his heart out with passion and love. He connected with the crowd in the most genuine way that I've ever seen an artist do. He is just so talented that it is hard not to totally fall in love with the show. Just an amazing, raw, SOLO, John Mayer experience.
John is just an insanely skilled and charismatic artist. Down-to-earth attitude, it feels like he's enjoying just as much as we are. At this point he just plays around, not ever taking anything for granted or neglecting the quality of his performance. He seems relaxed on stage, and provides a very inspiring and exciting experience. Clap, clap!
This show was phenomenal. Starting with Alec Benjamin whose set was great, sounded great and caught everyone’s attention right from the beginning with his lyrics, voice and adorable charm. John of course is the easiest artist to watch on stage where you feel in utter contentment as there is nothing he can do wrong. He played the audiences requests and connected with the crowd to make us feel like we were all just hanging out. Obviously he is insanely talented and the music was incredible and it was so so so magical. I loved seeing him solo as I have seen him with a band before and this was a really cool change. 100/10
Excellent service from handicap entrance to my seat, and back after the show. Intermission after opening act was far too long. John Mayer was a blast!
John Mayer is the best, and I just admire him more and more. The man was by himself with an acoustic guitar and he performed with perfection.
It’s so nice to see a musician play music. The solo tour felt very intimate like we were all sitting in a living room and he was casually playing his guitar. Felt like a nice change from all the fast paced, in your face music of late.
John Mayer put on a spectacular concert! Two hours of incredible music with just himself playing guitar, piano and harmonica. Didn’t want the show to end.
Everything about John was amazing, he interacts well with the crowd, very talented guitarist and songwriter. Floor tickets were not great or even good actually, if you’re not in the front, you won’t be able to see anything unless you’re the tallest person in the world as everyone was standing. Event staff were very kind and organized.
It’s something you have to experience before you die. The level of dedication to one’s craft. How someone can be this talented is beyond me. If you have the chance to see this show live, do yourself the greatest favour & go. If I had the means to follow this your I’d do it in a second.
Great set, epic crowd work, unbelievable atmosphere. John really knocked it out of the park with this show
What a performer, John Mayer is amazing. Loved that he really conmected with us on a personalt level. He's a vert talented artist...this solo tour is one of the best, ever. I recommend not sitting in the nosebleed straight across, view was blocked by the ceiling lights and cords hanging. And no need for floor tickets, cause he had 3 big screens. Lower bowl tickets are perfect!
Absolutely amazing show!! You can't get any better then just the artist and their guitar. First time seeing John Mayer and will see him again every chance I can. Amazing Amazing Amazing!!
John did not disappoint and after this show I feel like I can call him that. He was amazing, personable, genuine, and mind blowing! Best experience 💜
Absolutely incredible show!!! Didn’t want it to end. Still longing to be back there and anticipating the next time.
John is a master and seeing him live was a dream come true. Very special memory
Absolutely UNREAL show! John Mayer made a solo acoustic arena performance feel like a much more intimate setting. He connected with the audience, took deep-cut impromptu song requests via fan signs, and put on a truly epic performance. He played 23 songs, mainly acoustic, but also had a small piano set where he performed a solo on his silver sky electric at the same time, also added some harmonica and finished off with a double neck martin guitar set. This was a must-see show and he truly showed why he's one of the best artists of this generation.
