Mulaney has hosted Saturday Night Live six times. He was a writer for the show starting in 2008, where he created memorable characters such as 'Stefon' with Bill Hader and worked with hundreds of hosts on their monologues. He has written and appeared in IFC's Documentary Now! and Netflix's Big Mouth, in which he voices the character of Andrew. In December 2019, the critically acclaimed Emmy-nominated musical variety special John Mulaney & The Sack Lunch Bunch debuted on Netflix. He also starred on Broadway in the runaway hit Oh, Hello On Broadway, written and performed alongside his long-time friend Nick Kroll. • Thankful for rehab

by Kearfree on 2022-10-18Scotiabank Saddledome - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

I’m happy that rehab worked because John Mulaney is my favourite comedian/addict. Worth every penny and then some. Unlike his intervention, the show started on time. The openers were good, and there were no lulls in between. Overall, an efficient event.

  • A bit slow and lacking content but still florets funny

by RM on 2022-10-18Scotiabank Saddledome - CalgaryRating: 3 out of 5

First act the guy mumbled and our whole group agreed not only could we not hear him, what we did hear was mediocre. Second act was great! Funny and good at ‘reading the room’! John spent too much time on crochet lady (seemed like a planted guest and it was uninteresting material). His rehab material was good, wish he had other topics as he is truly funny but needs to keep the pace a little faster even if it’s not his ‘cocaine speed’ like he joked about. Getting out of event was unorganized with unlocking our phones… not enough people helping , inefficient to be in line 10-15 min to exit.

  • Phone policy dampened evening

    by Jk12345 on 2022-10-17SaskTel Centre - SaskatoonRating: 4 out of 5

Great to see, warmup comedians were both excellent. John was very funny, a bit darker than normal but still very funny. A few recycled jokes from his many late night interviews. But lots of new stuff and some fun crowd interactions. Phones being locked up in a bag for the night was annoying, made the night longer than it should have been (waiting to enter and waiting to leave) and left parents with younger kids unable to be reached easily.

  • Welcome to Saskatoon

Great show, both of the opening acts were funny and of course John did not disappoint. Our daughters favorite comedian!

  • Saskatoon performance

by Pat on 2022-10-17SaskTel Centre - SaskatoonRating: 4 out of 5

John was very good. The first lead-in comedian was really bad. Hard to understand and his language was really bad. You don’t have to use a four letter word to be funny. He should be dropped from the performance. The second stand-in was mediocre.

  • Laughed thoroughly

by Ambear on 2022-10-17Canada Life Centre - WinnipegRating: 4 out of 5

From his openers were fantastic, and he was very good too! Darker comedy than his previous tours, but as he will tell you, he has changed and the world has changed, and he wouldn’t be sincere if his comedy didn’t reflect that.

  • Great night of comedy

If you ever have the chance to this man live, do so. He is so much fun! I laughed until my face hurt. I love how he is able to tell stories and laugh at himself and have the audience feel included in his shows.

  • He’s still funny!

    by E and E Bailey on 2022-10-16SaskTel Centre - SaskatoonRating: 5 out of 5

We have watched John’s specials on Netflix and love his dry sense of humour. However each time you watch a comedian, it’s like rolling the dice - will he still be funny? Yep! John is still very funny. His story now has the depth and complexity of his journey to sobriety that only added to our enjoyment. We laughed, we cried, he became a part of us.

  • Great show!

Great evening with John Mulaney and 2 opening comics. Jumbotrons allow perfect view. Mulaney engaged with the audience. A real 'class act'! Great show, happy he came to Saskatoon! 👍

Loved the show, John was on stage for a significant amount of time and was hilarious…appreciated the crowd interaction, even the opener was great!

  • Great show

by Beans on 2022-10-16SaskTel Centre - SaskatoonRating: 5 out of 5

Great show. Great seats. The one thing that annoys me about the sasktel center is that they have a set time the bar closes and eveey single event ive been to in this last year they close before that elotted time. Not sure i understand this. What is the point of having a last call time if your just gonna close up early every single time. To top it off they only serve great western beer which sucks.

  • Show was great, event staff needed more training

by Luceiia on 2022-10-16SaskTel Centre - SaskatoonRating: 4 out of 5

The show and the food were great, but the process of getting our phones locked up in the weird little cases was disorganized and haphazard. The staff who locked up the phones were not the same as the venue staff and they didn’t communicate well with each other, and they hadn’t set up the line to enter in the right order (they locked up our phones, then remembered they had to scan our tickets so had to go through the line and unlock them all again). But John Mulaney and his opening acts were fantastic.

  • John Mulaney show

by Jan on 2022-10-16SaskTel Centre - SaskatoonRating: 5 out of 5

Fantastic show! John Mulaney and the opening comedians were hilarious. I was surprised how well the yondr pouch system worked. There was hardly any time wasted in line receiving the pouch or opening it afterwards. Seats were great, beer was delicious, and the show had us laughing non-stop.

  • Excellent show! So funny!

Still has just as much class, quickness, and originality as before. Such a worth-while live event. :)

  • It slapped

by JJ on 2022-10-16SaskTel Centre - SaskatoonRating: 5 out of 5

Never been to a phone free event but i thought it was actually quite a nice way to fully enjoy this show. John Mulany was absolutely hilarious and had such a fun interaction with the audience also. I think this show was amazing it blew away my expectations. I had a wonderful time!
