About

Journey is a multi-platinum-selling rock band from San Francisco, California. Originally formed by former members of Santana, the Steve Miller Band and Frumious Bandersnatch, the band’s current lineup includes guitarist and backing vocalist Neal Schon, lead vocalist Arnel Pineda, keyboardist and guitarist Jonathan Cain, keyboardist Jason Derlatka, bassist Todd Jensen and drummer Deen Castronovo. After releasing a few albums — including their self-titled 1975 debut — throughout the early ‘70s, Journey reached a new height of commercial success on the charts with Infinity (1978), Evolution (1979) and Departure (1980), all of which were certified multi-platinum in the U.S. The band earned their first chart-topping album in 1981 with Escape, which also yielded massive hits like “Don’t Stop Believing” and “Open Arms.” Over the decades, Journey has continued to release studio albums and tour the world as one of the best-selling rock acts in music history, with their most recent album, Freedom, released in 2022.

  • Disappointed in Edmonton

by Kris on 2024-03-12Rogers Place - EdmontonRating: 2 out of 5

Sad to say but Edmontons enthusiasm for Journey the other night fell completely flat. People were sitting. People not cheering. Journey was incredible and I feel that people forget how incredible this band is. Pineda’s voice is remarkable. I just wish Rogers would have been so loud with cheers that the band felt appreciated.

  • Outstanding

by Tayls on 2024-03-12Rogers Place - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Awesome show. Great musicians both bands came to play!

  • Sound mix horrible

by Cody on 2024-03-12Rogers Place - EdmontonRating: 1 out of 5

Toto was great. Interacted with the audience and played favorite oldies. Journey was a different story. The sound mix was terrible, loud and couldn't make out the lyrics. Left after an hour. Couldn't take it anymore.

  • Highly recommend seeing this band

by KirkH on 2024-03-12Rogers Place - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

Both bands gave excellent performance's. The featuring band performed with lots of energy and connected well with the audience making it well worth the money. It appears obvious that the singer truly loves his career and was very enjoyable to listen to. Highly recommend seeing this band. However, floor seats are a hit or miss for getting a good view unless in first couple rows.

  • I saw journey when Steve Perry was the lead singer.

by Jessie on 2024-03-12Rogers Place - EdmontonRating: 2 out of 5

Arniel did the best he could but he is not Steve Perry. The set list was good as you would expect from a journey concert. Wasn’t impressed by the lead guitar player being a spotlight hog but that is my opinion. Overall I would give it a 4 out of ten. It wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t what I was hoping for. Would I see them again as a headline band? No.

  • Was it a "mixing"issue or does Rogers not have good sound

by Pat MacDonald on 2024-03-12Rogers Place - EdmontonRating: 3 out of 5

Been waiting for years to see Journey in Edmonton. Noticed both Toto and Journey were VERY hard to distinguish between instruments and voices of band. Trying to figure if this was a mixing issue with the bands or is Rogers that bad of an venue for music? We were in Section 103, Row 2. Been to other concerts (Elton John & Eagles) whose music & sound were excellent where we sat (Section 117 Row 19) . Now they were not Rock Bands but the sound out of Toto and Journey was pretty bad.

  • Amazing

by Jerr on 2024-03-12Rogers Place - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

It was amazing experience to watch journey live. And hopefully can watch more other bands concerts.

  • Wonderful Music with Journey & Toto

by Rapunzial on 2024-03-12Rogers Place - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

I had a 3rd row floor seat, great visualization and sound. If there is one thing I didn't enjoy was the Strobe lights which were the worst I have ever seen. I've been to a lot of concerts at Roger's Arena and haven't had this kind of experience. I'm a short person in stature so maybe that was the difference at this particular concert. Overall I had a great experience.

  • Excellent experience with the band and lead singer

by ness on 2024-03-12Rogers Place - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

It was a great performance by the band, the lead singer was awesome, energetic, and engaging too.

  • Great show

by Jake on 2024-03-12Rogers Place - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

by Great show on 2024-03-12Rogers Place - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Arnel Pineda blew the doors off. This guy deserves all the respect in the world. Filling Steve Perry’s shoes when he didn’t ask for it amid all the whiners that miss the original singer is a very tough assignment . There is no way SP could do what this guy does at 75. It’s still Journey and this guy rocked the house. The music quality was meticulous as we expect Journey to be. These are very talented musicians. Toto rocked too they didn’t feel like an opening act it felt like two great bands. I hope they come back soon! One of the best concerts I’ve ever been to! Thank you Journey for finding Arnel…no disrespect to SP but Arnel’s the perfect fit! They got it right! Great show!

  • Toto & Journey Edmonton

by Classic on 2024-03-12Rogers Place - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

Toto…solid! Journey…good, but not sure why the 2nd song was O Canada as a guitar solo. Also…not sure why a classical piano solo was needed. Overall, enjoyed the show, especially the vocals of the latest lead singer.

  • Very good!

by Smiley on 2024-03-12Rogers Place - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

One of the things I would suggest is that you have the option of printing your ticket, for those of us that want physical copy/memento, besides scanning to enter the building.

  • It was ok but the mix was off for Journey.

by Concert Guy on 2024-03-12Rogers Place - EdmontonRating: 3 out of 5

The sound mix for Journey was terrible. At times the speakers were popping, back up singers mic’s sounded like tin cans, lead singers mic wasn’t on, the drum mix was non existent. Just overall wasn’t impressed by the effort of the sound crew for Journey. I was not the only person who noticed this and many of us felt that Toto had the better sound overall. I was very impressed with Toto in general. Great musicians, great sound and a great on stage presence. Journey had the songs we all know and love but I wasn’t blown away. It was good to say I’ve seen em though.

  • Ultimate fun!

by TK on 2024-03-12Rogers Place - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Thoroughly enjoyed this concert! Journey put on an amazing show of music, video displays and talent from each and every member!

  • Awesome Performance

by JMS on 2024-03-12Rogers Place - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

We’re glad to see Journey came to Edmonton. The Lead singer of Journey never disappoints the fans. His crowd pleaser. Lots of energy. Thank you Journey.

  • Boring, Left Early

by Shell on 2024-03-12Rogers Place - EdmontonRating: 2 out of 5

The concert was okay, songs were extended past their usual length, boring as the audience wasn’t involved much. The concessions were closed by 10 pm. You couldn’t even get a water even though the concert went until 11 pm. Bathrooms ran out of toilet paper and paper towel. Sure wasn’t kept as nice as at an Oiler game. All in all a total disappointment.

  • Fun night

by Lorie on 2024-03-12Rogers Place - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

It was a great show all the band members has full of energies especially the lead singer Arnel Pineda with amazing high pitch vocals. Great performances they’re all amazing.
