    Nothing like Demetri Martin!!

    by TXTCLA55 on 2010-07-09Massey Hall - Toronto

Ok so sure Demetri wasn't the only one preforming as I had hoped but the line up after hike was truly amazing! Well up to the part where that piano guy started just saying mother F***** over and over again in different tones. Then there was that Scottish guy who had no trouble giving the audence a descriptive Sex Ed lesson! I mean I am a guy and the last thing I want to hear about is how a diaphragm resembles a rubber pringle! In conclusion the show was truly amazing and well worth the $100 some odd I spent that night. I you are reading this, and you haven't seen the show yet.......GET YOUR SELF SOME TICKETS!!!!

    JFL lives up to name

by Laparka on 2010-07-09Winter Garden Theatre - Toronto

Last night my friend and I had an amazing time at the JFL Toronto Alt Comedy show. Starting the show was Last Comic Standing Judge Andy Kindler who was very funny, smart and a third thing to make the joke. A surprise slot was filled by Nerdist- podcast host Chris Hardwick who was very good. Mighty Boosh alumni, Noel Fielding did a wonderful surreal set, commenting on the woodland "Torontonians". Todd Berry's understated act brought many laughs as well as Pat Thorton. Finally the headliner Patton Oswalt hit the stage. Very good stuff from him. I was glad to finally see him live. He did not disappoint. Great night all around. I had a great time

The nasty show was just nasty not in a good way

by swatch on 2010-07-09Panasonic Theatre - Toronto

The show was too short to start I expected a little more then an hour and twenty minutes. Secondly the ability to swear doesnt make you nasty. I was expecting full on grotesque humor and ended up with 13 year olds that had just learned to formulate a sentence completely made of swear words.

    Should have been longer

by SarahKhoo on 2010-07-09Panasonic Theatre - Toronto

I was expecting the show to be longer...it ended around 8.30pm. Other than that, it was good.

    Tommy delivers

by paddywhack on 2010-07-08Jane Mallett Theatre - Toronto

In front of a 2/3rds full Jane Mallet Theatre. Galway man Tommy Tiernan took the stage. Tommy's immediate presence soon eased the crowd into a hypnotic trance with his Jewish Elder dance and hum..taking us on a quest for knowledge, when bombarded with useless information. Tommy's quick wit when distracted by the peanut gallery, just added to this masters performance. Tears where shed, gasps were heard, and laughs were had. A performance worthy of the standing ovation garnered.

    Elon Gold is hilarious!

by Desertstraw on 2010-07-08Berkeley Street Theatre - Toronto

I loved the show. Elon Gold is absolutely hilarious. He lightheartedly poked fun at Jewish people and people in general, and spoke many truths that struck a chord in the funniest way possible. He also did some wicked impersonations. People were rolling in the aisles. Although there is a lot of Jewish content, you don't need to be Jewish to understand his humour. I would see him again in a minute.

Funnyish but too long and expensive

by AudienceMember on 2010-07-08Berkeley Street Theatre - Toronto

Yes there were laugh-out-loud moments but the 64-minute show is not worth the price tag. It wasn't any better than what you would see at a comedy club. It would have been better to have a few comics together. That said, Mike you are a cutie pie.

    Tommy Tiernan is a legend

by KYssss on 2010-07-08Jane Mallett Theatre - Toronto

Hilarious and better than i thought it was going to be. I think it's better if you are Irish or know Irish people as some of the terms and jokes are better that way.

    Great!

by nuts on 2010-07-08Berkeley Street Theatre - Toronto

I've never seen Birbigs before, but he was GREAT! I became a fan just last year of his material, and his one man show was a nice change from the standard stand-up comedy routines. He basically stayed with the same topic through the entire set, and he had the crowd right into the stories about his life's relationships, getting lots of awwwww's and laughter.

    Tommy tiernan

by Dubgirl on 2010-07-07Jane Mallett Theatre - Toronto

It was an excellent show however, the show itself could have been longer with an intermission so we could all catch our breathe from laughing. Tommy is very talented and would recommend everyone to go see him. Hurry back to toronto soon:) I have never laughed as much in my life.
