The KWS night at the Commodore was phenomenal
by Links2 on 2009-08-02Commodore Ballroom - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5With the great privilege of being able to meet and chat with KWS and Noah prior to them going on stage, and then the huge opportunity to be standing about 6 feet from the stage while they played, it was one of the most enjoyable nights that I can remember. I have been a huge fan of the group for quite a few years, (with the "10 Days Out" dvd showing me the respect he has for Blues and some of its early pioneers) and to be able to actually meet and chat with KWS also showed me he was very approachable and genuine. Pretty cool!
I left the "meet and greet" wishing that I could sit down over a few beers with them (KWS and Noah) as I had many questions about the making of the dvd.
The music they played on stage was fabulous. Noah has that totally recognizable voice and, well, Kenny, was incredible. No "choking" like he said on his 10 Days Out dvd when he played with the greats like BB King. H ewas stellar. Everyone was on their feet, BUT, I was right at the stage. First time in my life I have really wanted to be right up front, it was a magical night for me.
