About

Heading downunder as part of Parkway Drive’s Reverence tour, Massachusetts metallers KILLSWITCH ENGAGE have unveiled two epic and intimate headline shows this October-November!

At the turn of the century KILLSWITCH ENGAGE spawned an entire genre with their earth-shattering debut, ‘Alive or Just Breathing’, earning the esteemed title as the Godfathers of Metalcore.

Built organically from the most potent components of melodic, heavy and catchy-as-hell European death metal and the essence of the most grimy, urgent and forever yearning American hardcore, the brilliantly individual KILLSWITCH ENGAGE have come to define a generational shift equal parts inevitable and by design, as cultural earthquakes and uprisings often are.

“… how metal is supposed to be heard….live and loud, pummelling your eardrums, and sending a rush through your body” – Heavy Mag

Joined by Justice For The Damned (Sydney Only), who back up every statement made with their Greyscale Records debut, 'Dragged Through The Dirt', Hysteria Mag calling it a “dark, abrasive, and supremely volatile listening experience” and Ocean Sleeper (Melbourne Only), hot off recording their debut album in the USA, among building a loyal fan base with their chart topping debut EP ‘Six feet Down’.

For these two epic headline shows you can expect a killer career spanning set from KILLSWITCH ENGAGE complete with chugging riffs, high energy and a hunger to perfect their attack on the movement they created.  Having sold out shows on their previous tour, don’t miss your chance to see metalcore giants KILLSWITCH ENGAGE tear up these intimate venues.

    Killswitch Engage concert

by Chilliams on 2009-09-25Shaw Conference Centre - Edmonton

This was an excellent show once Killswitch got on stage. There were 3 opening acts which was way too many. It should have just been In Flames and than Killswitch engage. I don't think that Shaw conference centre is designed for concerts so the sound wasn't the best not sure I would pay too much money to see another show there unless they fixed the sound problem. I was very impressed with how quick the line moved and the staff seemed friendly. I would LOVE to see Killswitch engage again they are truly amazing!!!! If I was giving stars just for Killswitch Engages' performance I would give them 5 stars hands down.

Killswitch and Protest the Hero were terrific

by Lilla on 2009-09-24Winnipeg Convention Centre - Winnipeg

I went to the concert excited to see Protest the Hero, and also Between the Buried and Me. The first two bands. They both were totally awesome, and I was happily pleased that In Flames were quite enjoyable as well. Killswitch put on a really exciting show, and now I listen to their music. A very happy concert goer I was!

by Guest on 2009-09-19BIG FOUR BUILDING - Calgary

One of the best lineups I've been to in a long time. Killswitch was crazy amazing and In Flames was mind blowing. I wasn't a fan of Protest the hero but I am now.

    Best metal concert

by 4show on 2009-09-17Shaw Conference Centre - Edmonton

Every single band that played was simply awesome. Fans of In Flames and Killswitch Engage will defiantly enjoy the concert to its full extent. Howard Jones (lead vocals) of KsE has increased vocal power that will blow you away. Every fan will love to share the experience of seeing them live of a few of the best metal bands out there.

Lineup was in the WWWrong order

by CloudConnected on 2009-09-17Shaw Conference Centre - Edmonton

Be as it may this is just my opinion but i have seen a lot of shows I've seen all 3 of these bands 3 times now. i can't stand the fact that a more commercially popular band like Killswitch is on top of such an epic band as In Flames. There is more talent in Jesper Stromblad's left leg than in all of KsE. Don't get me wrong I like Killswitch, I think they're good but come on... In Flames has been rockin it out together since 1990. They have 11 albums and they blew the doors off of KsE that night, and I'm sure they could do it rituallistically. I really love 'The End of Heartache' and seeing that clown wannabe comedian guitarist of Killswitch (yes you and I know his name and I dont' feel the need to mention it) bounce around like a retard ruins it for me. Anyways all and all it was a fantastic show and as always the sound at the Shaw was wicked. Love the darkness too! ROCK THE PIT !!

Another Great Concert by Killswitch Engage

by Rocker1984 on 2009-09-17Shaw Conference Centre - Edmonton

Killswitch Engage was awesome yet again! Their concert was better than when they were in Edmonton last year (and that concert was wicked!). I was quite impressed by In Flame's performance as well, I had not heard a lot of their music until the concert and loved it! My only negative comment is that the show was all ages.

    Very satisfying!!

by RainingThrasher on 2009-09-16Prairieland Park - Saskatoon

Four great bands, Killswitch, In Flames, Protest the Hero, and Between the Buried and Me all delivered top notch performances. It opened with BTBAM whose technical metal style was a blast to watch in action. Next was my personal favorite PTH. They played a mix of both Kezia and Fortress with an excellent performance. In between songs lead singer Rody amused the crowd with the bands unique humor. The whole band was very tight on stage. The only beef I had was that they seemed too quiet. Next was KSE. Guitarist Adam D who is known for his trademark antics, burst onto stage wearing a cape, bandana, and sunglasses. The band played loud and awesome when about after the third song lead singer Howard told the crowd that he had to vomit then disapeared backstage. The rest of the band improvised with a "Cowbell Solo" and a hilarious song about Canada written by Adam D called "Friendly Neighbour to the North". After Howard still wasn't appearing onstage the band decided to go on and play "Rose Of Sharyn" with just the crowd as their vocalist. Amazingly the result was great as the whole crowd seemed to know every word. The band said that they were very impressed and was one of the coolest things they had ever seen and heard. Adam then asked the crowd what song the crowd wanted to sing next. Everyone yelled out "Holy Diver!". Just as the singing part was about to start Howard burst onto the stage and sang the song without missing a beat. They continued to play two more songs when the band decided they had to stop because Howard was so sick. Even though their set was cut short I was very impressed with their show. Last was In Flames (my least favorite but still good), who delivered a show of intensity and high quality performance. The crowd was probably the most insane when they were playing. A very fun night.

    ABSOLUTELY AMAZING

by AlbertaBeef on 2009-09-16Shaw Conference Centre - Edmonton

This was my first concert at SHAW CONFERENCE CENTER. The venue was very good, the line was long but moved very fast. Plenty of security and medics. Good concession and smoking area. The conert itself was amazing. Never heard of the first band before " BETWEEN THE BURRIED AND ME ", but they were very good. PROTEST THE HERO was good, IN FLAMES was excellent, and KILLSWITCH ENGAGE blew me away. I know all of there music and still i never even expected it to be so good. They didnt even take breaks in between songs, they just kept blasting them out. Awesome tribute to Canada, and great audience participation. Top notch, 5 stars.

    IN FLAMES!!!!!!!

by skullsinc on 2009-09-16BIG FOUR BUILDING - Calgary

This was the second time seeing In Flames and they out did their selfs. the show was awesome. All the bands kicked ass! The speakers could have been setup a bit better but when your that close it doesn't really matter. The only thing I could say was bad about the show was that Killswitch and In Flames could have played longer sets. But overall the concert was AWESOME!

    Swedish Meatballs and Holy Divers!!!

by VideInfra on 2009-09-16BIG FOUR BUILDING - Calgary

The In Flames and Killswitch Engage concert was terrific. Killswitch performed as they usually do, with a blend of comedy and metal. The best part of the show for me was In Flames though. Last time I saw them I was a little disappointed with their performance but they totally redeemed themselves Monday night.

    Not bad behind the circumstances

by GoldDustWoman on 2009-09-16Prairieland Park - Saskatoon

Show was overall great. In Flames and Killswitch Engage sounded studio perfect! However, the singer of Killswitch was unfortunately sick so their performance was cut short.

    Can't go wrong.

by Lurch on 2009-09-16Shaw Conference Centre - Edmonton

The show started off with Between the Buried and Me, who i've never heard before. Very impressive, and a great way to start off the show. Next came Protest the Hero. They did a good job, got the crowd participating in the songs, and kept the good times rolling. Then came In Flames. An amazing show all around on their part. Great sound, awesome lighting, and entertaining to watch. Finally, the show capped off with Killswitch taking the stage. Basically on par with In Flames. All around great, and finished with Holy Diver for the encore. I thoroughly enjoyed the show, worth every penny.
