About

Kings of Leon are a four-time Grammy-winning rock band formed in Nashville, Tennessee. Since their inception in 1999, the group’s lineup has been composed of the Followill brothers Caleb, Nathan and Jared, along with their first cousin Matthew Followill. The band emerged with their debut album, Youth & Young Manhood, in 2003, while subsequent releases like 2005’s Aha Shake Heartbreak and 2007’s Because of the Times further established the band as Southern rock staples in the American and international mainstream. Kings of Leon’s 2008 album Only by the Night earned the band’s first RIAA double-platinum certification with hit singles like “Sex on Fire” and “Use Somebody,” the latter of which peaked at a career-best No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. Furthermore, 2010’s Come Around Sundown and 2013’s Mechanical Bull both reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200, while their 2016 effort WALLS became Kings of Leon’s first No. 1 debut. In 2021, the group released their eighth album, When You See Yourself

Changed my whole outlook on life

by Cglesman on 2009-08-13Rexall Place - Edmonton

It just so happened that same day that there were several events leading up to this, however KOL was the clinch! The line 'You know the rainy days they ain't so bad when you're the king The king they want to see' from Fans. It just rang so true as I had made some decisions that day to change the direction on my life. I actually cried! LIfe has a funny way of showing you how to live, these guys are the most honest people and that really spoke to a lot of people. Thank GOD that there are still bands and muscians out there that value their fans and their music. I am so thankful that we had decided a few months ago to get tickets, had we not, things might not have turned out the way they did. Not sure that they will ever see this, but it was a day I will remember for the rest of my life. Thanks Kings of Leon, you will never know what you did for me!

The show that Kings of Leon put on was without a doubt one of the most fantastic shows I have ever seen! Fighting through some technical problems did not put a damper on the show at all. Those boys ROCKED OUT!!!!

    Kol was amazing live.

by DudeBuddypal on 2009-08-13Rexall Place - Edmonton

Kings of Leon really brought it to edmonton. They played an awsome 2 hour set that included all the best songs from past to present. They sounded ridiculously good even though they had technical difficulties during the show. One of the best shows I've been too.

Good show, but I expected more

by Pinkflowergirl on 2009-08-13Rexall Place - Edmonton

It was a good show as far as sound and authenticity to how they sound on their album versus live. The lighting wasn't so great though - they had 2 large lights on either side of the stage that blinded those sitting near the side of the bowl. The overall esthetics of the show was weak, but the meat and bones (vocals and sound) were great. Wasn't as entertaining as I expected it to be. Their stage set up wasn't that great as well. For a band that has really hit it big within the past year, I expected something that didn't remind me of a small town band just starting in the industry. Would go again because I love their sound, but would have different expectations when it comes to how they present themselves to their fans.

    Kings of Leon was Epic!

by DontKnowWhatNicknameToPut on 2009-08-13Rexall Place - Edmonton

Awesome concert, the guys sound exactly like they do on record which is unusual in music today. The lead singer played without his earpiece, so he could not listen to the guitar or lyrics, and played awesome. KOL was honest and after the first few songs, got the crowd into it. Their encore performance of 4 songs was longer than any encore I have heard.

    royalty!!!!

by visionary on 2009-08-13Rexall Place - Edmonton

The energy at this show flowed like a river and Kings of Leon did not miss a beat despite some technical issues that occured during the show which they apologized for and you could see there was some frustrations on stage but as i said it did not hamper there musical perfromance. overall the show was filled with a great set, sustained energy, and a great presence.

    They truely are Kings

by Brendanna on 2009-08-13Rexall Place - Edmonton

A great mix of the old and the new. They really are a talented bunch blessed with amazing skill and wholesome attitudes. The lead singer had no monitor for his guitar and his vocals were cut out of his earpiece, he still belted every song out on time and with perfect pitch

    Worth the money

by Prego on 2009-08-13Rexall Place - Edmonton

King of Leon was awesome! A great mix of old and new songs, all performed amazingly. Even when some "technical difficulty" arose they pulled through and put on a great show for there "great" fans.

    KOL was awesome, awesome, awesome

by Sexymom on 2009-08-13Rexall Place - Edmonton

Kings of Leon put on a great show even though they said that they struggled with technical problems. I didn't notice and enjoyed the show. Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!!!! The played the hits from the new album and some from previous which I have never heard. Now I will buy the older albums just because of the talent I witnessed tonight.

    Awesome!

by Tenzil on 2009-08-13Rexall Place - Edmonton

I've been waiting a long time to see them, and I wasn't disappointed with KOL at all! They played quite a few tracks of the new album, and went through a few of their first three. Caleb claimed he had technical issues, but you couldn't tell with the way he was singing. It was amazing. I kept thinking to myself, "This is the current generations U2...this is how rock should be." They didn't try to dance around the stage, they connected with the crowd, and they came across as sincere to their fans. I do wish that they played True Love Way and Ragoo though. The only thing that bothered me, and it wasn't with Kings of Leon at all, or the opening band the Whigs, it was with the girl that was right beside me. She had her Blackberry out, and held out in my view. She was taking a few photos, no big deal. But she was watching the whole concert through her Blackberry, instead of looking at the stage with her own eyes. What the hell????

    KOL delivered the goods

by BigDJF on 2009-08-13Rexall Place - Edmonton

Kings of Leon gave it their all and then some. You almost got the impression that they didn't want it to end as well.
