About

Kings of Leon are a four-time Grammy-winning rock band formed in Nashville, Tennessee. Since their inception in 1999, the group’s lineup has been composed of the Followill brothers Caleb, Nathan and Jared, along with their first cousin Matthew Followill. The band emerged with their debut album, Youth & Young Manhood, in 2003, while subsequent releases like 2005’s Aha Shake Heartbreak and 2007’s Because of the Times further established the band as Southern rock staples in the American and international mainstream. Kings of Leon’s 2008 album Only by the Night earned the band’s first RIAA double-platinum certification with hit singles like “Sex on Fire” and “Use Somebody,” the latter of which peaked at a career-best No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. Furthermore, 2010’s Come Around Sundown and 2013’s Mechanical Bull both reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200, while their 2016 effort WALLS became Kings of Leon’s first No. 1 debut. In 2021, the group released their eighth album, When You See Yourself

    great show!

by katlia on 2009-08-13Rexall Place - Edmonton

3 friends and I went to KOL last night @ Rexall Place and it was Awesome! The crowd was so energetic...the WHOLE TIME! We were all the way up in section 220 and people were standing all around us for the whole show! The crowd was loud...the band seemed to really appreciate our energy and played great. They complained of technical difficulties but we didn't notice anything out of place...vocals/music sounded great. We just couldn't get enough.

    Great

    by Joker1327 on 2009-08-13Rexall Place - Edmonton

They are just as good live as on their albums. They said they were having production problems and a bad night because stuff wasn't working but I couldn't tell because everything looked and sounded awesome to me. They played a good variety of old and new songs.

    Waste of money

by Stawberry on 2009-08-13Rexall Place - Edmonton

I liked Kings Of Leon - until I saw them live. The show was unoriginal, with stage pieces left over from past Coldplay and U2 shows. The bands energy was low, and it didn’t seem genuine when they 'thanked the audience'. To top it off- the lead singer started bad mouthing the crew and complaining about them all having a 'bad day' and getting pissy about the technical problems that were happening. I think it is low class for a ‘rock star’ to trash talk the people that work extremely hard all day so he can play his guitar for an hour. I would recommend listening to Kings Of Leon on your IPod- where they don’t talk.

    KOL excellent despite equipment issues!

    by Izzy88 on 2009-08-13Rexall Place - Edmonton

Kings of Leon are so awesome live! They are a rare band that sounds even BETTER live than on album! There were some major malfunctions with the equipment, but the crowd was still into the band and cheered them on in the rough spots, it was incredible. And despite the equipment problems and the music stopping every few songs, it was still a great show and the guys were funny and kept chatting away with the crowd. All in all.....AMAZING SHOW!

    KOL is Beyond Amazing

by mdcgc on 2009-08-13Rexall Place - Edmonton

Despite technical difficulties and experiencing what seemed like a bad night, the boys from Kings of Leon were terrific performers. They played a solid two-hour set and were appreciative of their Edmonton fans. Seems like they'll be back in AB soon!

    Play somewhere other than Rexall

by angelT on 2009-08-13Rexall Place - Edmonton

Rexall just sucks the detail and the true nature out of the songs. It is not a good venue for Kings of Leon and similar type music. Despite that, I thought they played really well, and put on a good show. Energy could have been higher from the band- some technical issues were going on- though they did try and make it up near the end.

    now that's Rock n Roll

by toadsicle on 2009-08-13Rexall Place - Edmonton

First of all, I have to say that might be the best show I have seen from a seat in a large venue (Rexall Place)! The Kings of Leon foursome are both musically gifted and entertaining. It was refreshing to be at a good solid Rock show. I enjoyed every minute and probably enjoyed their "non-hits" over their chart toppers. Well done boys! Come back to Edmonton soon!

Kings of Leon - Edmonton Last night Kings of Leon played in Edmonton. One Word - UNFORGETTABLE! Even though they had technical issues (Caleb couldn't hear any music) he really brought his A game and was an incredible front man and musician. I loved the concert and will see them again!!!!

    KoL = Class Act

by VelvetDress on 2009-08-13Rexall Place - Edmonton

I expected Caleb to have a huge bad boy attitude but he (acted at least) totally humble. If you were there for the music, you would not walk away disappointed. "Closer" was stunning, I was almost in tears. They sounded great, the crowd was great, and they reciprocated the love. A great night, and a great set list, with just the right mix of old and new. Thanks for a great show boys!

    Epic!!!!

    by Lewis08 on 2009-08-13Rexall Place - Edmonton

Kings of Leon was one of the BEST concerts i have ever been too. From the amazing screens cutting back and forth from each band member to the absolutely incredible sound. I haven't seen Rexall fans be soo enthusiastic, from the singing, clapping and pure screaming of excitement!! Not to mention the encore they presented us with!!! Come on what other bands come on for an extra 4 songs!!!! To sum it up my experience with the Kings of Leon was EPIC AND UNFORGETTABLE!!!!
