Nostalgia was the only thing that helped this show

by Anonymous on 2016-06-27Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

This show is an interactive show where folks in the crowd get to ask questions of Carol and she may or may not answer (if you are lucky enough to get a mike). A lot of the questions turned out to be gushy monologues about how much they love Carol and asking how they could get autographs...not really questions. The sound did not work well so Carol struggled to understand what folks were saying and it really slowed things down. A lot of time was filled with video clips from the Carol Burnett Show, with a few nice anecdotes. Although it was nice to see her "in person"....I would have been much happier buying her time-life videos.

Night of Carol Burnett was memorable

by CrimsonFox on 2016-06-26Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Carol Burnett is an iconic sketch artist! Her skits are unforgettable. Listening to her answer audience's questions was just like watching her show all those years ago. Her stories are unforgettable. I would give anything to spend more time with her.

Carol Burnett was too much fun

by KRKR on 2016-06-26Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

I laughed so hard I was crying. Seeing and hearing Carol B. brought back wonderful and fond childhood memories. I would love to see her again if she were to return and would recommend her highly.

    An Icon at the Jubilee

by Katrusia on 2016-06-26Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

I grew up watching Carol Burnett 's show, and to see her live in person was just awesome! It would have been wonderful had she done a bit of an act herself or something, but all in all, it was a delight to see her and be able to ask her questions. She is a lovely, humorous, grand lady!

Carol Burnett is a true star

by Chubers on 2016-06-26Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Carol Burnett is a class act. She was on time which I love. She was funny. She answered the audience questions with dignity and thoughtfulness as well as being genuine. She showed just enough clips to keep it from being too much audience questions. I would definitely recommend the event to a friend.

We were disappointed that she didn't stay on stage for very long. The whole event was very short.

    An excellent evening

by KirbyFell on 2016-06-26Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Ms Burnett was truly excellent! Very sharp, witty, and still maintains here characteristic humor. Sadly, a few audience questions were in poor taste and Ms. Burnett was the consummate professional... she took the questions with poise, responded frankly, and then redirected the silly question to a related past performance skit she had done. Well done! The show started about 7:45P and went until just after 9P. The first 10 or so minutes were clips from he TV show. Throughout the program Ms. Burnett would refer to the screen where they would play portions of skits, etc. Overall an excellent show with a lot of laughter. Secondly, being able to see such an icon in person was truly amazing and surreal.

    enjoyable evening

by freeflying on 2016-06-26Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

It was an enjoyable evening of laughs and memories of her show. The ask questions segment was a great way of her sharing her personal stories of her career.

    Couldn't see her

by Edmontonwanda on 2016-06-26Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Carol was and is an icon. But I was so disappointed that I couldn't see her. You would think that big screens are a standard thing but all we could see was a little woman's figure and nothing of her face. It could have been an impersonator for all we could tell. The picture is with 8x zoom. Surely for the money she's making she could provide big screens.

    Great nostalgia trip

by JudgeDread on 2016-06-26Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Carol took her audience on a trip down memory lane with film clips from The Carol Burnett Show of the 70's. From skits like "Went with the Wind" to The Dentist, there wasn't a dry eye from all the laughter! She was gracious and razor sharp witty with her audience and capped the evening with the now iconic closing song, " I'm so glad we had this time together........". Then there was the ear tug to seal the deal..... A great night out with a comedy legend.

Definitely not the show we envisioned

by Cpantan on 2016-06-26Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Was basically just her talking for an hour, we had thought there would be sketches or musical numbers or other guests

    Could have a lot better!!

by Manonice on 2016-06-26Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

We were very disappointed in the show. It could have been done a lot better. She showed clips that you anyone could see on YouTube. She could have dressed in her favorite characters, changed between YouTube clips and performed short versions. It was a terrible show for someone with so much talent to do. We expected more and not to feel like we just handed a wealthy person a lot of money for a half hearted effort at planning the show. Would not recommend this show to anyone.

My sides hurt I laughed so much

by Rainbow12 on 2016-06-26Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

She was still the person that I grew up laughing at and with. This show brought back so many wonderful memories of family and fun. She is so personable and just a lovely lady. The skits that were shown on the screen were as funny as the day they were broadcaste.

    Sound issues

by SirPoopalot on 2016-06-26Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

It was an ok evening. Very nostalgic. Too much video, not enough stories. She had sound issues. I noticed on other reviews she uses her own sound people. Seems she has to change hers or use the facilities sound system. Also too short. It was only an hour and a half long. Most of it was her playing videos that you could see on utube. The ? and answer period was ok. If there were more stories of her life it would have been worth the admission. But when tickets are around $95each. It just wasn't worth it. Sorry.

    Going strong at 80+

by Vernagee on 2016-06-26Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Carol did an amazing performance. Loved how she intertwined skits with her questions from the audience. Nostalgia at its finest! Constructive feedback- we we sitting in the first balcony at the Northern Jubilee. There was a big screen on stage where the skits were played. It would have been awesome if the could have had a camera on Carol and then projected on the screen. We could not see her very well and as we all know her non-verbals really add another dimension to the storytelling.

    Love Carol Burnett!

by CBfanLK on 2016-06-26Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

Carol Burnett is an icon, a legend, whatever you want to call her. And she deserves every bit of our praise. She is an amazing person and a huge talent. I never missed a show when it was on and have all the DVDs of them now. I watch them with my daughter and she loves Carol as much as I do. Good comedy is timeless.

    Lots of laughs

by Bunzi on 2016-06-25Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

Enjoyed the evening with Carol. Showed lots of clips from the show, but I would have preferred a few more than she showed. Loved the Q & A sessions. She is still so engaging and loveable! I'm so glad that we had this time together!

    Amazing woman

by Frontliner on 2016-06-25Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

She is amazing and has a memory I can only hope to have at her age. She is gracious and so appreciative of the career she has had and her audience that spans generations. So glad I got to see her! Brought back many memories.
