Played all the great old songs one right after another. Threw in a couple of awesome new songs. They were totally amazing! In fact so amazing that I am going to see them again tonight. Gary and Ricky switch off lead guitar and its incredible. Free Bird live is a must see. This is southern rock at it's finest!

Lynyrd Skynyrd is one of the best live performances around. They know how to get the audience pumped. Excellent entertainment and value for the money.

  • Skynyrd @ Rama worth the trip

The band is full of energy and fully engaged with the fans. We've seen them every time they are in the area and will continue to do so.

If all I wanted to see was a pared-down concert of Skynyrd's Greatest hits, done exceptionally well, I would be happy. But I wanted to see more of the new album, Gods and Guns. And aside from an opening teaser before heading into an old standard, then just one song from the new album, that's all it was. Hardly a concert to promote a new album. If I didn't already have it I wouldn't be rushing out to buy it, there wasn't a sampling of it to hook me. Plus less than 1 & 1/2 hours start to finish, typical of a casino concert venue, where the emphasis is getting you out of the theatre and back to the gaming tables. One encore, naturally Freebird. I left wanting more. Much more. The band was typically engaging, Johnny paying tribute to all the troops, his and ours, overseas, which was classy. Oh well, beats not seeing them at all.

  • A great Skynyrd experience!

  • Skynard rocked the house

I talked with Ricky Medlocke briefly the afternoon before the show.Met him as he was walking through the casino. He stopped and had a short conversation, shook my hand three times before leaving. He's as cool as you see him on the stage, down to earth rocker. The show was excellent. Johnny had the crowd. Everybody on their feet for Sweet Home Alabama, and Freebird.

  • Skynyrd was great

Even with all the changes due to plane and car accidents, age and the "good life", still a great sound from a group looking like they're having fun.

OMG, it was amazing. I was so excited to see them perform as I'm a big fan and it blew me away. Our seats were great, the music was great and Johnny and the band were amazing as always. I only wish I could have been on stage with them as a back up singer!

I eventually upgraded the ticets that I bought here to the Bret Michaels VIP package, but I was still able to see all of the bands play. First off, I would like to say how much of a pleasure it was to have the VIP Bret Michaels package. All of the staff were great, and the meet and greet with Bret was more than I could have ever asked for! It was a night to remember to say the least! Secondly, .38 Special put up an awesome show, highlighting the fact that they still rock, and deserve more attention than they have ever had. They had energy, sounded great, and got the audience involved the whole time. Fantastic! Bret Michaels then took the stage in a way that no other man could. He gave 100% like always, and proved to many of the southern-rock audience that he is one hell of a musician, and a great guy. The band rocked, and honestly, no one could have put on a better show than him! I missed about half of Lynyrd Skynyrd's performance because of the meet and greet with Bret. However their classics 'Tuesday's Gone', 'Sweet Home Alabama' and 'Freebird' topped off the evenng on a great note.

  • Bret Michaels was the highlight of the night!

Awesome concert! Lynard Skynyard was good, but the best parts of the night were all Bret Michaels!

Wow! I must say that I was very impressed with the entire line-up. I went to see LS and had only heard of 38 Special & Bret Michaels so it was great to see these acts as well. It was a great show and the venue was fabulous. You can't get any better than a truly great Rock N" Roll show at Darien Lake on the Fourth of July weekend. This was one of the best concerts I've seen in a long time (and I'm 53 years old and seen many in my day). I took my oldest son and its great to see that great classic rock is spanning the decades as he had a great time too. Only problem was we are from Canada and got held up at the border for immigration. Turns out I have the same name as someone of interest and I get pulled over everytime.

  • Skynyrd

by Jennie on 2009-11-24Turning Stone Resort & Casino Event Center - VeronaRating: 4 out of 5

Skynyrd put on a good show, but I was disappointed that they didn't play their new stuff. It was suppose to be the 'God and Guns' tour, but they didn't play the new songs ! If you are a fan as I am, you would enjoy all of the classics they did. They did a great job and put on a good show. I just wished they played some of the new stuff too ! There is some great new songs as well !!!

  • Skynyrd - God and Guns?

by virg on 2009-11-22The Seneca Allegany Events Center at Seneca Allegany Casino - SalamancaRating: 4 out of 5

This concert was, overall, very good. They did have some trouble with sound throughout the performance. At the beginning we couldn't hear the singing, but that was corrected fairly quickly. There was some feedback a couple of times and the bass was very strong. Having been to many concerts of varying styles of music over the last 30 - 35 years, this is the first time that the band did not perform a single song from their latest "album". We were very disappointed that nothing from God and Guns was performed last night. We were looking forward to hearing Simple Man and others from this new release. The concert lasted just short of one hour and twenty minutes. Not very long considering the ticket price (ours were $78 each). If concerts are going to be shortened to less than 2 hours, the ticket prices should be adjusted accordingly. Overall though, I still love Lynyrd Skynyrd and will continue to listen to their music.

We flew from Alberta to Florida...main reason...to see Lynyrd Skynyrd and it was a trip we'd make agian! Blackberry smoke and Rev Theory rocked it out as well!

  • Great show, where's the rest of it ?

by forbesy on 2009-10-03Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 3 out of 5

I love Skynyrd with all my heart, but was feeling kind of short changed as the show barely lasted 90 minutes. I think fans paying 100 dollars to see a performance and traveling over 500 miles deserve more for their money. I saw Bruce Springsteen the night before and he played for 3.5 hours. If Lynyrd Skynyrd had even played for two hours, I would be satisfied . The content of the show was great however they just seemed like they were in a hurry to get it over with. I saw the Allman Brothers Band in The Beacon Theater and they too played a 3 hour show . If Skynyrd expects their fans to keep supporting the band , they should really consider giving the fans more for their hard earned dollars. I know they have more than enough great material to play a longer show, just wished they would have! I bleed Southern Rock! Thanks
