    Spoon, Interpol, Metric

by Music Lover on 2022-08-30Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Great show but was really there to see Spoon. It was their only show in Toronto this tour and they haven’t played here in awhile. Britt Daniel and the band were very gracious but to be billed first at 6:30 in a day lit stadium, with people milling around talking and finding their seats, not fully engaged must have been a let down. I understand Toronto’s connection to Metric but I feel that could have been a totally different show. Spoon deserved better and I was disappointed as a fan in the order and timing of things. Also, there was an email to announce a change in the original time but it was very confusing and I could not get any clarification from replying to the email or from the ticket office.

    Classic Metric

by Asa Weinstein on 2022-08-30Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Metric does not disappoint. The quartet are consummate professionals in every way. They all gave their full effort tonight. Emily was on point, Jimmy running the stage and Josh and Joules holding the back end solid! A nice cross section of their catalogue. The audience was singing along and loving it! Great show!

    What a night!!

by Tony Sc on 2022-08-30Budweiser Stage - Toronto

First, you get FOUR awesome bands (show started at 5:50) and your tickets included free admission to the Ex! So for value, you couldn't do better! Second, we had great weather! What a perfect time to be by the lake taking in a show. Third, each band was stellar! Energetic, musical, engaging etc. Of course, Metric are the main draw and they didn't disappoint! First time I'd seen them in 9 years and they have only gotten slicker and seasoned since that time.

    Metric never disappoints!

by AC on 2022-08-30Budweiser Stage - Toronto

As always, Emily and the band had a great performance and loved the addition of a Broken Social Scene song. My only complaint was I wish there were more songs, but then that's always the case!

    Underwhelming and Under-voiced

by AgeA on 2022-08-29Budweiser Stage - Toronto

The concert was just okay. The lead singer really didn’t engage/or speak to the crowd very much at all. The Budweiser Stage is a relatively small venue where the opportunity for strong vocal performances and interactions are key. Metric’s instrumental performance was loud and clear however the lead singers vocals’ failed to interact with the crowd and sounded flat over the the music itself. I had high expectations for an “end of the summer”/“Canadian band” at Budweiser Stage but felt left very underwhelmed.

    Metric at bud stsge

by Itsbubba on 2022-08-29Budweiser Stage - Toronto

No cash anywhere is a big inconvenience The venue is nice but stuffy corporate heavy security and police seem to be everywhere Everything is over priced and staff server girls pretend to look interested and seem to expect an auto grat tip for doing minimal service after paying $15 for a tall boy And at sum41 a month ago the cheapest earplugs were complimentary now $3.00 that's a nice markup % grab by rogers. makes you feel even less worthy and u can't even smoke a joint anywhere other then the corner by the lawn stairs shived beiind andnno dont walk to any space as security are high handed mall cops in yellow shirts power tripping you to back away as an after thought so no enjoying the lawns no smoke no weed Man times change costs out of control for a mediocre vibe at best Also the sound being on floors there's bad reverb muddy vocals (especially where the middle is missing any speakers or bass bins!! unless you are at each side of the stage

    Was OK

    by First timer on 2022-08-29

First time seeing Metric...was just OK. Was disappointed to hear Sympatico and Kombat Baby with just guitar and Haines. Sound i thought was off, not crisp and clear. Did not blow me away like seeing Muse and Twenty One Pilots first time. Saw Muse at Bud Stage and it was ridiculous and even better at Scotia Bank. Good value for the money but not blown away with live performance. Still love their music.

    Focus forward

by andrew on 2022-08-29Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Plenty of new material, and some of their standards, several reworked to a fresh presentation. The Band are superb live. This concert was more rock than indie.

    An epic return home

by Tallboywrites on 2022-08-29Budweiser Stage - Toronto

After 20+ years, I was finally able to see Metric live and it was even better than I imagined. Emily portrays emotion through words and song better than most. Highly underrated performer. The band was tight. So tight. I literally teared up at points.

    Best night!

by Freda on 2022-08-29Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Metric’s show at the Toronto Budweiser stage was INCREDIBLE!!! The band starts off with the new “doomscroller” and also includes some of their other new stuff (“All comes crashing” & “paths in the sky” and others). They also include some of their older hits “combat girl” and other favs! Emily and the band sound really great and the whole ambiance was a terrific experience. I’ve never seen them live and I’m so grateful I got the chance to finally do so. Best night this summer!!!

    Great sound

by MaMaBradbury on 2022-08-29Budweiser Stage - Toronto

I have been wanting to see Metric for years and they did not disappoint. Sounded amazing! The crowd was a little overwhelming for my 10year old on the lawn. Lots of drunk people which she had never seen before. Will get seats next time! Also…wood chips?! What happened to grass?

    Amazing as Always!!

    by Sara23 on 2022-08-29Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Metric is one of those rare bands that sound better live than they do recorded as nothing can capture their energy on stage!!!

They sound exactly the same live. Love Emily’s voice and the energy of this tight band. I’m amazed they aren’t more famous

    Amazing Night

by Jes C on 2022-08-29Budweiser Stage - Toronto

This show was a perfect cap to an amazing day. Spent the day at CNE with the family, which awesome. Brought our two teen daughters to the concert. Lawn seats, picnic blanket and snacks. We danced and sang all night. Loved that Metric had newer limited edition vinyl as well as an older album available at the merch table. We left exhausted but so full of joy. LOVE Metric. Their energy is exuberant and their musicianship truly wonderful. Will definitely see them again!
