Not bad, but only heated up at the end

by AnotherHabfan on 2017-08-29Budweiser Stage - Toronto

The Oils were pretty tight musically. Not sure about the pacing and set list, as the crowd never really got whooped up much until they finally started to play some back-to-back faves near the end the show. The venue may just be too bid for them.

    Midnight Oil is still amazing.

by shredR on 2017-08-28Budweiser Stage - Toronto

I thoroughly enjoyed Midnight Oil. Peter Garrett still has incredible energy. His politics of environmentalism and human rights resonate especially well in these darker times. He didn't fail to take a few jabs at Trump, either! (Knew he probably would!) Came home with Stars of Warburton in my head. Matthew Good, for me, was ho-hum. To be fair, I didn't know his songs, and I have never been a fan of his bands.

    Midnight Oil - Vancouver

    by Pharaoh63 on 2017-06-05Malkin Bowl - Vancouver

A great night in a great venue. Midnight Oil was engaged and their energy transferred to the crowd. If you get a chance to see them, go. You will not be disappointed. Sound and voice were all excellent.

    Midnight Oil are amazing !!

by Newwestjohn on 2017-06-04Malkin Bowl - Vancouver

My third time seeing them. Been many years since the last show in the early 90's....Once again such a fantastic show they performed. Malkin Bowl was such a beautiful venue. Outside in Stanley Park among the trees and eagles flying overhead. A most wonderful experience. To all those out there, go see them whenever you can. You will absolutely have the best time!!

The Oils remain an absolute powerhouse live act!!!

by Dragons2010 on 2017-05-24The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Wow!! What an amazing show!! While it's been 15 years since they toured together and 35 years the first time I saw them with many times in between, The Oils remain an absolute powerhouse act live with their lyrics and politics sadly ringing even truer today!!

Midnight Oil...its like they never left..

by J9Cantrell on 2017-05-24The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

To paraphrase Josh Klein from the Chicago Tribute: 15 years have passed and they returned with a fiery set that felt like no time had passed at all. "Proselytizers place the Australian band in the pantheon of great live acts, and justifiably so, but it takes a certain sense of pride for a reunited group not just to coast on its reputation but push itself like it still has something to prove, and the world to change. As frontman Peter Garrett noted, the band's pointedly politically minded songs — many delivered with the desperate immediacy of a Molotov cocktail — remain as timely as ever." Josh Klein, Chicago Tribune. (Couldn't have said it better myself!)

Midnight Oil was worth waiting for!

by Cuaich on 2017-05-23The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

A fan for 30 years, it was incredible to finally catch this band live. Tight playing and singing, a strong show and audience involvement, amazing songs and important messages all blended to make the evening memorable. Other than the fact that they failed to play my favourite song ("Bullroarer") the concert was everything 30 years of being a fan could want.

Fantastic performance by Midnight Oil. Tons of energy, the audience sang their hearts out, and I stand still the entire night! Didn't want the night to end!

    Still Totally Awesome !

by OilsFan on 2017-05-23The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Still totally Awesome after all these years. Maybe the 10th time I've seen them since 86. If you can't sing and scream in blue with these guys and feel empowered there's something wrong. The whole band sounded great... you forget what great musicians they are. And Garrett... still solid, and wittier and more playful than ever... thanks for a fantastic night of song, and energy, and the reminder that each and every person can make a difference.

    Woah

by grahams on 2017-05-23The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

There are few acts in the world today that can deliver like these guys! The performance was amazing though I must admit the show previous to mine had the setlist I wanted (old Vic Chicago got the whole 10.9.8 album and we didn't get a single Cut) but the notion that the band has played 80 different songs so far on this tour and every night the setlist changes is unheard of

    The Oils Rocked

by Catssuck on 2017-05-23The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Small venue, a band I haven't seen in years. Worried? Tentative was more the feeling. They opened with Redneck Wonderland and continued to kick ass for 2 hours. Incredible show, going to see them again in August!!
